This is bullshit fast food. I get it. Wasn't good but I've had worse. Located in the food court at Chicago Ridge Mall.

The food was decent--not great, not terrible, just average. The real issue started when it was time to pay. When I received the bill, I noticed that a 15% gratuity had already been added, even though our party consisted of only three people. I explained to the server that I planned to pay for the meal with my business card and leave the tip in cash. I was not refusing to tip; I simply needed to separate the meal expense from the gratuity. The server told me that was not allowed and insisted that everything had to be paid either entirely in cash or entirely by card. After trying to explain the situation several times, I decided to pay only for the food. As my family and I were leaving, the server came running into the parking lot holding the cash I had already given her. She loudly accused me of not paying the full bill and threatened to call the police. At that point, I took the money from her hand and counted it in front of her to show that the amount for the food was completely covered. I then counted it again in front of another employee. It became clear that the money was there and that the food had been paid for. Despite this, no apology was ever offered for the accusation, the threats, or the embarrassment caused. The saddest part of the entire experience was seeing my 9-year-old daughter start crying because of what was happening. What should have been a simple family dinner turned into a stressful and humiliating situation in front of my wife and child. Whether you agree with automatic gratuities or not, no customer should be chased into a parking lot, falsely accused of not paying, and threatened with police action after paying their bill. The lack of professionalism and the complete absence of an apology were extremely disappointing. Because of this experience, I will not be returning.

The ordering process via ipad was easy; we just passed it around and hit the submit button at the end. The sauce bar had a lot of choices, and they had a small dessert bar as well. Overall, it's just what you'd expect so there are no hidden charges like "broth charge extra", etc like Happy Lamb. Meat and vegetable quality was good overall; fresh. Our server Mimi was on point and was great at her job, so kudos. Two things that were slightly annoying which prevented the 5 star rating were: 1) 18% gratuity for party of 5 or more; just another way to apply a price adder I guess. 2) photographer took our photos then then tried to sell us each framed picture for $20 each. A bit dear, and I would've bought them if they were $10 ea. Other than that, it's a nice place to have a meal.

Pros: The place was clean, the food was quality, the service fast, and friendly. Cons: Two sets of tongs for a family of four. All the sauce ingredients with no measurements on the listed recipes. I do have my own base stir-fry sauce I do at home that I was able to make. - The Sauce and tongs is why a one star deduction. The favorite was definitely the grill. Their base marinades don't need sauces. I did use my aforementioned sauce to flavor things like the plain chicken one of my kids ordered. Hot Pot: 1 Miso and 3 Toms. Two of us thought the Tom was not good. One thought it was okay. The Miso was liked... but as the youngest chose it and was randomly throwing stuff in there... Well her cooking skills need help, but that's not on them. Overall it was a better experience than I expected, even being the one to cook 90% of it. It was a good fun family outing. If/when we do this again, I'll likely ask if I can try other soup bases. Maybe using their mini sauce bowls before committing. Note: I do strongly suggest doing your homework if you are unfamiliar with this type of faire. We did. It enriches the experience. I'll likely bring a note sheet on sauce recipes. If you have more than two people, bring extra tongs. (I did ask for more, but didn't get more - Unsure if this is protocol or oops.)
