When I first pulled up here, I was a little nervous. The outside is so deceiving to what's inside. This gives true meaning to the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover." The chefs are SUPER friendly and the sushi is incredible. Prices are perfect- 3 rolls for 9.99- you cannot beat that. Their Vegas roll is so delicious and flavorful. Really really great hole in the wall sushi spot! There isn't tons of seating so it's best to go with just a few people. I tried Sushi Town today and I was impressed. It's a tiny little hole in the wall place that has gone through a number of incarnations as a sushi restaurant. This is, by far, the best one. They have a good selection of rolls on a 3 for $9.99 menu and all three of the ones that I tried were great. My friend said the sashimi was also fresh and tasty. The guys who work there are attentive and quick - we were in and out in 30 minutes on a lunch break. Also, they gave us a cononut brulee for dessert and it was absolutely delectable. You cannot beat this sushi deal. A limited (but all the classics like California, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Louisiana, Eel, Salmon, etc.) sushi menu for 3 rolls for $10! I get California, Philadelphia and avocado, while my bf gets Las Vegas, Louisiana and Spicy Salmon and we walk out for less than $25! And they are skimpy portions. Same 8 pieces that you get at a high end sushi place but a quarter of the price. I love it. We call ahead and usually pick it up to eat at home, but there are places to sit and eat inside. So I decided like other yelpers to check out this fairly new hole-in-the-wall sushi joint. Serious bang for your buck! It is definitely one of those "don't judge the restaurant by its storefront" type of places. You walk in and the place is probably as big as someone's living room. The 2 chefs that work here are very welcoming and friendly, and it has a nice comfy feel to it. They had their Christmas decorations up and some music playing. It is super tiny so there was hardly anyone in there, just people coming in to pick up their sushi. So me and mama met up here to sit down and eat and did the 3 rolls for 9.99 deal. I ordered the Las Vegas roll, Spicy California roll, and spicy tuna. Mama ordered the California, spider roll and shrimp tempura. Everything was flavorful, rolls were not huge but the fish was definitely fresh. Mama is not a huge sushi person so she was saying the seaweed on the rolls was a little on the tough side but that didn't really bother me. It is definitely worth checking out...plus you can't beat the prices anywhere else in Plano. I'll be back! read more

When rolls are 3 for $10, you have to expect the quality is going to be so-so. This is great when you want quantity over quality. Honestly, their simple rolls are good. The fish isn't terrible quality. I've noticed that when sushi chefs are Korean, the rice tends to be a little sweeter. I actually like this "Korean-style sushi." Do not try any of their fried rolls though...they are disgusting. I've been here several times, mostly doing takeout. The last time, however, I had a bad experience with my sister. We decided to dine in and order the tuna tower. However, instead of the usual imitation crab mix that we dislike, we wanted to replace it with salmon. We have done this several times at restaurants with no issues or comments about it. I always mention, "I know there will be an up-charge and I'm okay with that." This time, the chef was annoyed by this request. He then said, "I have NEVER done this before ever!" I just thought it was a rude and unnecessary comment. If they don't allow modifications to food, politely state that. Don't be a dick about it! He ended up doing it anyways, so why say anything at all? After that incident, we stopped coming. Maybe we will give it another try soon if we are wanting cheap sushi. Their prices are good. What a shame. read more

A small but great sushi place. I asked a few questions about the sushi, and every question was answered nicely and clearly. The cashier gave me as many chopsticks and soy-sauces as I wanted (I only needed 1 or 2). The prices are almost fast-food grade price, but we get fresh hand-made sushi. Overall, service is great, nothing from my visit that warrants a complaint from me. I would say that the taste is significantly better than pre-packaged sushi that I would get at other stores or schools. They have a lot of variety and plentiful cooked sushi options if someone is a bit worried about contracting food-borne illness. If you decide to try this place, you won't be boring your taste buds with something dull. I also didnt' get a stomach ache like I did with pre-packaged sushi from stores, so freshness and preparation is probably up there. I personally recommend this place, and I will be going back there for economical Japanese meals. read more

I love sushi. Moved to Plano from NYC six months ago and the first sushi we ate here was Densetsu, which is fantastic. That said, Densetsu is pricey. My entire family loves sushi and my kids would eat it every day if I let them. But we cannot afford to go to Densetsu twice a week. So we now go to Sushi Town once a week and Densetsu once in a while. Fresh fish, and the 3 rolls for $9.99 is an absolute steal. Father and son work there by themselves. They have 5 small tables. No alcohol, and you cannot BYOB. It's best to take out from there but you can certainly eat there if you are just a few people and don't stand on ceremony. But please, don't go here, because I want to keep this place a secret from the masses. read more

The miso soup was powderish and add hot water. I guess I can do that too if I was at home. The sashimi pieces were pretty decent sized, but the salmon did not have the usual buttery taste.
