Food was OK and interior was nicely done. Service was awful. Took forever. For such a small place it was astounding that we could not get our server's attention. Then we accidentally spilled our udon. The server (and rest of staff) not only didn't notice but when finally we got another server and asked for the check, our actual server finally came over and asked if we wanted the udon (which was clearly all over the table) to go. Gave this 3 stars mostly for the food but service wasn't great. That said, I came in tonight for Valentines Day take-out and they seemed understandably overwhelmed. So maybe it wasn't the best night to give this a try for the 1st time. Took about 30 min for my two rolls and I didn't mind waiting it was a busy night but simple things like acknowledging people when they come in or a simple "I'll be with you as soon as I can", "let me check on your order" sure would have gone a long way. Personally my sushi wasn't much better than what I would get at Wholefoods. Rice was almost mushy and there was more rice than seafood in my rolls. If I'm paying 15+ dollars for 1 6 piece roll don't cheap out and give me a whole bag of rice. Service was just eh... but again chalking that up to a really busy night. read more

Thank goodness there is finally an affordable, authentic, and delicious place to get sushi in Marin. I have tried so many and Sushi Tri really stands out as the best. Their lunch specials are such a bargain with so much food. I am obsessed with their chicken katsu, made with white meat chicken and the best curry sauce I've had. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the rolls are so creative and beautifully presented. I took a friend from Australia a few weeks ago who was here on business and she said it was the best meal she had all week. read more

Sushi that melts in your mouth! I am in love with their udon noodles and "rock n' roll" eel roll. By far the best sushi restaurant in town. I'm so happy they opened! The atmosphere is very nice. Calm, quiet, and ambient. The servers are very kind and the food is delivered very quickly. The prices are also cheap for the high quality in comparison to other restaurants in Marin county. Probably the best sushi place in Novato. And maybe, the best around that area also. As a sushi lover I have been to other sushi place around Novato and even further and I can say that this place, both presentation and food, is really good. But if I have one thing to criticise, their nigiri has way too much fish compared to rice. I mean, that might sound like a good thing for others but when I eat nigiri, I look for combination of taste between fish, rice and the soy but here it almost feel like you are eating sashimi. But like I said, others might like it that way. The criticism is purely based on my preference. So other than that, I think this place is perfect for a quality sushi. read more

Wow! Sushi Tri is great! We were curious to see what the new Asian restaurant would be like. Our Fugi Mountain Roll and Four Season Roll were outstanding, as was the Seaweed salad and tempura. We met the owner Jerry and are so glad he opened a quality restaurant. We didn't have a reservation at 6pm on a Sat. night, and were seated right away, then the place filled to capacity by 7. This review is for the ramen only. ramen noodles, pork broth, pork meat. It was bland and just OK for me. Broth tasted like plain old miso soup. A disappointment. My husband and I went there at opening day. Their Sachimi chef's choice 12 pieces does not come with any sidings, usually there is rice, miso soup and a salad (a very handsome full price is charged though). When I asked the waitress about it she was nice and offered the soup and green salad complimentary. The miso soup was served lukewarm though. The fish on the Sashimi had no flavor and when we go to the salmon we found out why, it was still frozen in the middle. read more

Not sure what happened! I've been raving about Sushi Tri to my friends. Went again for the 3rd time for my hubby's birthday and all the rolls were bad. Not sure if the fish was old, but the flavor was "off" on all our rolls (mango tango - super fishy tasting as in not fresh; spicy tuna - no spice, and seemed like it was made earlier; the 3rd roll I can't remember the name, but had both cooked fish and raw and was not worth the moolah)! Honestly, had better sushi from Safeway the other day. Really will be avoiding this place in the future if the food is this bad. Service was still good though. read more

I love sushi and Taki is my favorite. Sushi Tri was interesting because some of the items were out of this world fantastic and yet others were a big miss. I can eat about $100 worth of sushi myself so can get around a menu pretty good. 50% outstanding and better than most, 30 % very good 10% average and 10% a BIG MISS. We just visited this restaurant as a family. We sat in the back where they have outdoor seating. The tables overlook a small tea garden. Very lovely for a romantic evening. The food was good and nicely displayed. We had a combination of sushi and ramen. The staff was nice to our son. I look forward to coming here again. read more

Very good ramen! There has been a severe drought of decent ramen in Marin, but not anymore. Tofu agedashi was good, chicken karage was pretty dry and hard, but ramen and chicken curry were really good. Another plus is that they understand that children need plastic plates and kid chopsticks and kid size sushi. Super kid friendly! I will definitely be back! read more

So we came back to the "spot" on Labor Day with my family since I was hooked it for my first time. My family was kinda tripping about driving all the way from the city for some sushi, cuz there are so many choices at Frisco. surprisingly there was no wait list on Labor Day, so we got a spot for 5 right away. Once they took a bite on the dat good good Lamb chops, they all got quite simultaneously. They we proceed with the Uni shooters with some raw quail eggs to boost up the Yang system of all my young cousins. You know they gotta get that Ping Pong with some Ding Dong after the meal! Their sashimi were as fresh as the they could get. Salmon, hamachi. Tako.Maguro. Damn we just devoured the whole damn sushi boat with some special cold Kubota sake on the side! $60 for a bottle of Fine sake is such a steal you feel me! These bottles cost about $120 at sfc. I could go on and on praising this spot like I was hired by the owner, but y'all better check this spot out tho! read more

Wow! Novato has been needing a great Japanese restaurant and they found it. The presentation was gorgeous and you could tell it took a lot of time and thought and the flavor was out of this world! The owner, Jerry, is a very poised and generous, kind-hearted man and expected greatness out of his staff. I am so grateful to have this amazing restaurant in my Neighborhood and defiantly will be going back. There isn't a better Japanese restaurant in town and I am very well versed in food. Sushi Tri is in my opinion the best sushi restaurant in Novato if not Marin. The sushi is fresh and the service very fast (sometimes a little too fast). We were done eating one evening in about 35 minutes. They are very friendly and nice. There is a patio in the back when the weather is nice. I highly recommend. read more

I've been to many "Japanese" restaurants. They've typically been just up to par, or serviceable but at a high price. However, this place is not just worth it's price, but it has various things that are spot on. Even basic things like the service is efficient and the staff here was very nice. Food quality wise they have various variety of sushi, which don't feel "col" they seem warm enough that you can imagine they've been actually rolled by hand and sent directly to the table right after. The fried foods here are phenomenal! They're very hot when it comes to your table, and not too greasy, very crunchy and scrumptious. 5 stars! read more

Finally, a good Asian-like taste sushi Resteraunt in north bay with reasonable price. I am a Taiwanese and love sushi/Japanese food all my life. I'll say there is nothing will really disappoint you.
