I learned that Chopsticks House recently changed hands, which is understandable since the former proprietor had been there for decades and his retirement was well deserved. While this often signals unwelcome adjustment for patrons accustomed to the manner in which an established restaurant's dishes are prepared, changes in recipes and/or ingredients being used, or just a plain old difference in overall taste or presentation, I'm happy to observe that, as a customer for decades, this wonderful little gem of a restaurant has maintained the key characteristics - both in food quality and service - that made our family fans so long ago. There have been some recent additions to the menu, in both dish selection and beverage variety, which actually align the restaurant better with contemporary tastes and dining trends. Traditionalists need not fear, however, as the old menu standards still remain and are as good as ever. (In fact, I didn't realize there had actually been a change in ownership until I directly asked our server after not seeing some of the usual staff over the last couple of visits; otherwise, I wouldn't have known.) In terms of ambiance, new booths were recently added (and are more comfortable), but the overall decor remains basically the same. Similarly, the service continues to be on point with dishes prepared upon order and delivered quickly, drinks refilled/refreshed regularly, and vacated tables cleared and cleaned in a timely manner. In summation, the Chopsticks House is as good as ever - and with a recently expanded menu, too. Portions are extremely generous, and they do not skimp on the proteins or quality of ingredients. I have been a customer of Chopstick House for over 10 years . Their food is delicious and always fresh. Their service is always with a smile and would pack for my kids extra cookies and sometimes throw in some egg rolls. Tonight was probably the most awesome . My son and I are down with the flu and really wanted their egg flower soup but I called at 828 and didn't know they close at 830. I told him my situation and he said come on down and I will have the soup ready for you ! They make you feel like family ! This is my spot for house fried rice and have been going here for 15 plus years since they made the move across the shopping center to a bigger location.House fried rice comes with beef,chicken,and good size shrimp.They serve you a good size portion and typically it comes with enough meat you don't need to add on extra unless your extra hungry.The service is very nice and traditional.If you like hot sauce I recommend asking for the house red hot sauce to add a lil kick.They do have a few tables for in house and dining is very basic but eating here is a option if you can't do take out.Very calm and pleasant dining area.I usually call in for my order and it's ready fast for pickup no more than 10-15mins usually. read more

This is our go to place for great Chinese food and fabulous service! My daughter and I stopped in for dinner - the shrimp fried rice was on point - as always! An interesting turn of events occurred halfway through our meal. A guy looking to be 19 years old walks in and sits down at the table behind us. He clearly has an attitude and gets an egg drop soup. Then asked for a picture of beer. When our server Karen, asks him for his ID, he claims his wallet was stolen. She offered to call her boss and did so but did not get an answer. He angrily got up and walked out of the restaurant in a huff. In spite of being in a position where anybody off the street can walk in and ruin your day, Karen was poised and respectful the entire time. She is an incredible asset to the restaurant and one of the great reasons we love to keep coming back aside from the wonderful food! read more

The food here is incredible. My boyfriend's dad took us out to dinner and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was. It wasn't greasy at all and did not feel heavy in the stomach after. The wonton soup was my favorite as it's filled with vegetables on top of the wontons. The green bean chicken was my favorite with the chow mein noodles. What I did not get pictured was the egg rolls as the boys grabbed them before snapping a picture. These are hands down, the best thing on the menu. I like how there was an option to order at the counter or at the table you choose. When we went, those who ate in the restaurant were minimal, probably 3-4 tables sat. But there was a constant flow of people coming in and out for take out orders. read more

I'm so glad to have found this spot! Was doing errands and stumbled upon this establishment. Went on a lunch time and decided to order the lunch combo. It comes with the soup of the day, and a main dish with a side of steamed rice or fried rice (upgrade), and for an extra .99, soda or unsweetened iced tea. We ordered the black pepper steak, beef broccoli and appetizer combo platter. The portion size of the food is plentiful and really delicious. Their food also contains no MSG, which is good for my mom since she gets migraines from it. Service was really fast as it was not busy. The owner is super attentive and friendly as well. The interior decoration is aesthetic and the inside of the restaurant is very clean. We will definitely come back to this restaurant and hope to try more food! read more

Long time customers of the Chopsticks House, but not since they moved over five years ago from their location where Trader Joe's expanded into at that time. I'm torn between a 4 and 5 but went with a 4 for a couple of reasons. But, all in all, if you'd like a quick meal from a place that makes solid Chinese food, and who uses quality cuts of meat, I definitely recommend checking it out. Service is fast and the kitchen is even faster. That's part of the issue for me. My wife, Gwen, and I always enjoyed grabbing a quick bite out at the former location. The other night, our triplet teens were all occupied and we happened to be in the lot as we were visiting a couple of shops there. So we decided to give the Chopsticks House a go again. The food was really solid. I love that the chicken is good quality meat and isn't full of gristle and fat. The lettuce wraps were just as good as PF Chang's Lettuce Wraps and the Black Pepper Chicken was really great - the vegetables were fresh, snappy (not overcooked), and it was seasoned just right. The reason for the 4 vs 5 is that it just felt rushed. I love good service and it was good but just almost too efficient if you know what I mean. That said, we will be back. WTH!? These items for $30.22?! At Panda, is plate starts at $10.30 it comes with a large styrofoam container. A family meal at $35. You get 2 large sides and 3 entrees. Food wasn't terrible. Don't be fooled by the ordinary dinner plates and presentation because the food we ordered was delicious. We actually finished all the food we ordered among the three of us. The manager or owner was very friendly and kind, attentive and because we were the only customers at that time, he was continuously checking on us. The place is small but very clean and simple. It's located between Trader Joe's, Hallmark, Target and others so you can imagine how big the parking lot is. Service was quick. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted and noticed a line, so we assumed we needed to place our order at the counter before sitting down to eat. The cashier taking our order didn't mention that dine-in guests should first be seated and order with a waitress. Overall, the food is passable if you're in the area and need something quick while shopping, but it's not worth a special trip. They have generous portions for lunch. Brown rice isn't extra. There is usually a choice of hot and sour soup or egg drop flower soup. The hot and sour is my favorite because it definitely is SOUR and a bit spicy and it will clear your sinuses. You can request less spicy on the Kung pao chicken. The crunchy diced vegetables and peanuts are a textured contrast to the tender dark sauced chicken. This is my 1st time trying this Chopsticks house in San Dimas located in the marketplace. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl on the lunch menu. I was asked if I wanted white rice or fried rice? If you get fried, rice is $2.95 extra. It's delicious fried rice , but I didn't think it would be extra charge. The teriyaki chicken was cooked to perfection. The chicken had plenty of seasoning, and it was not dry. The fried was flavorful, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The egg drop soup was very tasty, and it complimented the entrée well. I paid about $15.00 for the lunch meal. I was satisfied with the food, and I look forward to trying other entrées. The customer service was nice and fast preparing the food to go.
