We order from here a few times a month, and it's pretty regularly great. I'm a big fan of the poke bowls, which are hard to find around here, and offer a lot of options for additions. it's not cheap, but it's worth it and very filling. Have RARELY had a problem with fish quality or quantity, or missing order items; everyone is friendly, and the food is really just enjoyable! They were POPPING when we went in for our first time, and for good reason! The sushi is amazing, and the staff is so kind. Delicious, creative, fresh rolls and crispy tempura at great prices, beautifully plated too, despite the busyness. Thank you so much! Went for a poke bowl for myself and my partner went for the all you can eat. I loved my poke bowl and was glad I was able to take what I didn't finish home. The spicy salmon in the poke bowl is so delicious I've ordered it several times on DoorDash but this was the first time I ordered it in person and it was excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive with quick service even on a busy weekend night. There are some pretty strict rules for all you can eat so make sure you read them before ordering that! Specifically you have to order two sushi rolls, so not pieces of sushi/sashimi's or kitchen items but full sushi rolls that are eight pieces each. Will be going back in the future! read more

I was really in the mood for sushi and figured it was time to try a new spot. I'm kind of picky when it comes to sushi so I'm always on my toes when I order from a new place. I placed an order for delivery. Let's start by acknowledging how incredibly fast it got to me. I couldn't even believe it. It took maybe 20 mins? I was extremely pleased. The sushi itself was not bad at all. The sushi rice was soft and tasted great. Sushi rice is an art that not everyone has mastered. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. The only thing I was not found of was the snow crab regular roll. There was way too much mayo and it was off putting. It would have been much for tasty if there was about half the amount of Mayo. I got a taro bubble tea, of course. I find it hard to order food and not also order a bubble tea if they're offered. I love them! The taste was just right and the bubbles had a great texture. The only thing that took getting used to was the size of the bubbles. They were very small compared to other bubbles. This wasn't a deal breaker or anything, just something I'd noticed. Overall, I had a pretty good experience. I'd like to try a few different rolls next time. I can always eat sushi, truly. Looking forward to my next order. read more

We've read the positive reviews about sushi village, and have wanted to try it for AYCE, but decided to order takeout for dinner this past Sunday first and we are glad that we did. Overall, we found the food quite underwhelming. My husband and I split the sushi for two, and ordered seaweed salad and shrimp/vegetable tempura for our son's dinner, and beef negimaki to share as an appetizer. The seaweed salad is the same as what you get at any restaurant, and the tempura was good, although I only tried the vegetables. The beef negimaki was bland. The sushi was disappointing overall. The spicy tuna roll had no flavor, and the "amazing roll" is incorrectly named. It's stuffed with more filler items than fish and was topped with mango and god awful spicy mayo. The nigiri was slightly better although the rice was bland, and some of the fish cuts were quite thick. The calamari pieces were chewy and hard and inedible. We are big sushi fans and unfortunately have been spoiled by better quality sushi so this was a miss for us. read more

Ordered accidently from the all you can eat menu. Got sweet potato tempura and sweet potato sushi rolls. Absolutely delicious. Here's the issue. My friend and I ordered from the all you can menu without realizing and thought we were paying per amount ordered so we only ordered a small order. We then got the bill and were stunned. Without saying anything the dude came out later and was like this isn't right you guys ordered not much food at all and cut our bill in half. They definitely didn't have to it was our fault but extremely honorable on their part. If I lived here, would most definitely be a repeat customer. I have not personally dined in here, but I have ordered takeout and that has a lot of weight in how I expect their dine-in service is as well. I ordered the Kelly roll (no eel sauce), Alaskan roll, and a Spicy salmon roll with a side of spicy mayo. The fish was fresh and tasty and each roll was packed with it's ingredients. Typically I find that many sushi places skimp on the amount of ginger provided with your rolls, but they certainly did not which was much appreciated. The Kelly roll was one of the Chef's Special Rolls and was really delicious. I'm not sure what it was wrapped in, but it was not your typical seaweed as it had a pinkish tint and the roll fell apart much more easily than others. Wow what a nice surprise! I was in town to drop our daughter off at college and she suggested we go to this restaurant close to campus for dinner. The outside doesn't look like much. When we walked in, there was a 65 inch TV showing music videos. All of the aesthetics indicated that my daughter made the wrong choice. Then they brought the food and everything changed. I started with the miso soup and the shrimp tempura. Both were excellent! I looked up at my daughter and she gave me that, "see, get your nose out of the air" look. The highlight was the sushi roll. I don't recall the name of it but it was a crab roll with light bbq sauce as a topping. It was a special that they had written on their board and I decided to give it a try. It was spectacular!!! If this restaurant were in a large city, there would be a line out the door. I'm always down to try new sushi places and A friend recommended this place after going a few times himself. The staff was very friendly compared to any other sushi place I have been to. The sushi chef stopped making food to say thank you and goodbye. We decided to do the all you can eat option for $30. Best decision of the day. So much food to share between the table. I had a horrible experience at Sushi Village on Saturday. I was in a party of 7 and there were two other big groups. It started out fine-- we got one round of all you can eat sushi and cooked food in a timely manner. The food was delicious as always. We sent in our order for a second round and I don't know what happened, but we waited over an hour (maybe an hour and a half) for the food. We came at 7:00 and left around 10:15. Not only did the food take an ungodly amount of time to come, but the servers did not once come to explain the problem. Members of my group had to go up and ask what was going on-- and never got a straight answer. Even when the food eventually did come, the server did not apologize. We thought it would be fair if part of the meal was comped, but that did not happen either. I'd be very weary to come here on a weekend night and/or to come here with a large group-- which is probably Sushi Village's bread and butter customers, especially for the all you can eat option. The only saving grace, and the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one, is the food. The sushi is delicious, the special rolls are unique, and even after waiting the quality did not falter. However, it might be awhile until I come here again. read more

I haven't Yelp'ed in awhile but had to here. Usually I write nice reviews but this was bad. I went with family and the entire family minimally ate during the day so we could fully enjoy AYCE sushi. My parents visited twice and brother visited once. My sister and I were the new guests. We got to the restaurant around 5:15 and did not leave until 7:30. Not because we're crazy AYCE'ers but because our food took forever. We ended up 2 plates of about 4 rolls each with some sashimi and sushi. The problem was that it took about 30-45 minutes each! 2 of 3 waiters seemed to not know anything about serving. One of the waitresses did not understand our requests. Asked for more hot tea, got new cups of hot water. She took our plates but did not replace them. We asked for plates, but we did not get any. My brother ended up getting plates himself. We should have tipped him instead. Another table left before they got their entrees and left money on the table. You could see they were upset! Another table left still hungry. My dad asked if they were hungry and all agreed. The "knowledgable" waiter said he was training new waiters and kitchen staff. Not sure if that explains why the sushi took so long. The owner was the sushi chef but she did not realize the mess elsewhere. That being said, sushi is good but I would avoid this place given the lack of attention to service. read more

Terrible experience. Food was fine, but service was terrible. Waitress was rude, and had to be directed constantly. Menu prices for lunch said $11 and they charged me 13.75. When I told her that there was a mistake on the check, she said that the menu was old and the prices changed. I told her that they should explain that to people and that that I should still get the $11 price. She said would change it and never did. I got charged $13.75. Priced well and with a good selection of items to choose from, the only issues we had was the strange, beachy decor (not a big deal as we were there to gorge on sushi, not admire decor choices ), and the volume level. Another person who bought some flavor to Poughkeepsie.I came here for dinner and we sat at the sushi bar and like every other Japanese place,it was calm and filled with warm people. We ordered the Mushroom Avocado,Sweet potato and YamaGobo sushi. We sat there and watched the Perfect Japanese man make our sushi's.And why is he called perfect? He almost looked like a doll with the pale yellow skin and straight hair with a Japanese outfit and a cap,If i stayed there longer i would have bottled him up and made him a showcase. :) The place has a great selection of sushi's,noodles and other Entree's.Our sushi plate had a coconut tree drawn on it with soy sauce ,it was pretty cute and like any other sushi it was good and i did behave like masochist in between;tortured myself by taking a huge bite of the Wasabi.
