Finally made it to Bon and I'm already planning my next trip back! I strongly recommend making a reservation on the weekends as it fills up very fast. They are also BYOB. We were seating immediately for our 6:30pm reservation and service was phenomenal when ordering and bringing our food out. The only thing was we sat for a while with empty water glasses and no one asked how our food was once we got it. And it also took awhile to flag someone down to get our check. We started with their tempura appetizer. It was delicious perfectly crisp and paired great with the dipping sauce. Overall a great size portion to share with two people. For entrees I ordered their spicy tuna roll and dragon roll. The spicy tuna was delicious and with quality tuna. Not the normal minced tuna most places will serve you. The dragon roll was large and just enough to fill me up. I also enjoyed that they don't drown their rolls in sauces and toppings here. My friend ordered their miso black cod. He enjoyed the portion size and it paired great with a side of white rice. I do have to say my favorite part of the meal was how quickly staff brought over silverware for my friend when they saw him struggling to use the chopsticks. Inside is very modern and clean. The restaurant is perfectly light and tables are well spaced.

Exceptional Omakase experience. Delicious uniquely presented sushi and seafood. Excellent friendly service and beautifully presented. Just perfect for an upscale dinner. Simply superb.

We went on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was very open with decorations for the holiday season. I appreciated the space between each of the tables. We had multiple waiters/waitresses all that were extremely tentative, especially Randy. The food is priced a notch above your local Japanese restaurants but the sushi and entrees were delicious and extremely fresh. I highly recommend the redbud roll if you enjoy tuna and spice along with the truffle unagi foie gras Bowl. One negative is that the establishment has a implemented both a card service fee AND a cash discount. I understand in this time applying a small credit card fee, but applying both if you pay credit card you will be paying an extra 8.85% which is steep. Make sure you bring cash when you come here to avoid this. Overall food was delicious. I will be coming back with cash.

Stopped in for lunch on a rainy Saturday about half an hour after they opened, around 12. It was still pretty empty at that time. The restaurant is modern-looking and spacious. They gave us this cozy little nook that was also able to accommodate our stroller. They started us off with some hot (peach?) tea, which was nice on a rainy day. They don't have a drink menu as they are BYOB, but even a non-alcoholic drink menu would have been nice. They said they just have cans of soda, so there is some untapped potential for them here if they added some Asian drinks. They have some deals on the menu, like appetizer combos (we opted for the any two appetizers for $38), and lunch special - even on the weekends! We ordered a feast to share since we were celebrating Hubby's birthday. We had: -Scallop Foie Gras (scallop, Foie Gras, torched with truffle oil) - this was good but the scallop slices were thinner than I expected. Comes with six pieces -Beef Carpaccio (thin sliced beef, pecan, arugula, grana padano cheese, sauce, and balsamic) - a little too saucy for me and I wish they cut up the beef into smaller pieces because I nearly choked on one. Other than that, the beef itself was good -Salmon Course Lunch Special (2 salmon, 2 torched salmon, 2 salmon belly, 2 salmon tataki, 1 salmon handroll) - the salmon was very good. My only complaint would be th torched salmon - they put entirely way too much spicy mayo and eel sauce on it. Next time, I would ask for sauce on the side. This was a great deal though. It also comes with a soup, salad, and two bulgogi arancinis, which were very unique - but again too much sauce since it was served on a plate with tomato sauce. The salad already has dressing on it, which you guessed it - too much dressing. So this seems to be a common theme at Bon -20 PCs of chef's choice sushi - the pieces were not explained to us but we were able to guess the fish and the flavors of the ingredients for the most part. My favorite was definitely the tuna, which melts in your mouth. Other top contenders include a yellowtail and a fluke (which I normally don't love but it tasted really fresh here). Dislikes includes the filler pieces of eel and cooked shrimp. There were 10 different pieces, so we both got to have one of each -Croffle with ice cream - all of the reviews online showed everyone getting this dessert, so we wanted to try it since we figured it must be good. It was just okay - pretty basic and probably something you could just make yourself at home Our waiter was really nice but we did feel neglected a bit. He forgot some things so we had to ask a few times for certain items. But it was probably because the restaurant was starting to get busier and he was the only waiter around. I would still come back. The fish is good quality and very reasonably priced for a higher end sushi place. Tip - they might have a parking lot around back but there was some street parking at this time and it's only 25 cents for two hours.

Had Christmas Eve dinner at Bon. Service was excellent and food was delicious (as always!) Absolute favorite on the menu is the scallop appetizer- beautiful combination of flavors. I had the yuzu miso black cod, pictured. Lovely presentation and tasty fish cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend.

Amazing experience at Bon from the ambience to the quality of the sushi. This is one of the best sushi restaurants I have I ever been to and I call myself a sushi connoisseur. It is very nice and clean inside and everything taste so good! We got the tuna crispy rice and the refresh roll and both were outstanding!

If you're looking for top-quality omakase without having to go all the way to NYC, this place is such a gem! The atmosphere is amazing, and the quality truly rivals what I've had in Japan. Beautiful ambiance, impeccable quality, make the whole experience even better. The chef is super friendly and always gives great recommendations too! Truly a hidden gem worth revisiting!

    Another dessert, which was delicious.

Just had the most wonderful dining experience. Bon served the most delicious sushi dinner for us with the most accommodating servers. The vibe was perfect. Looking forward to coming back Fresh and delicious and authentic Japanese food. We had 5 special rolls, all delicious.

The sushi was fresh and the beef carpaccio was delicious! I can't wait to try Bon yet again as the omakase option looked amazing! The service was great and the place is very well kept. It has a romantic feel with dim lighting, perfect for a date night. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Our order was nearly $150 worth of various rolls and appetizers. No part of our order was a "party platter." but for some reason, the restaurant decided to combine all of the separate rolls into one giant platter. I specifically called the restaurant before our order arrived and said that the order is for several different people and to provide at least 6 chopsticks, and at least 6 separate containers of soy sauce. Because the order is not for one person. You would think that each roll would be packaged in the little rectangular to go containers. I didn't think I would have to specify for each roll to be packaged separately. If I ordered a party platter, then I would expect it to come in one large platter in one of those round large containers, but that is not what we ordered. Six different people ordered various types of sushi rolls, but the restaurant took it up upon themselves to put it in one large container without even asking us if this is OK. People with serious allergies to fish may not want their sushi touching their avocado roll or sweet potato roll. The woman on the phone did not understand the problem with what they did, plating all of our sushi rolls in one platter and didn't offer any type of solution. Not only this, they didn't even provide paper plates or extra containers so that we can divide up our sushi rolls. The restaurant just assumed that all of the different orders should be in one container. Like what?! If I ordered from an Italian spot, it's like if one person ordered meatballs, and someone ordered chicken parm, and another person ordered a pasta and the restaurant just throws everything all together in one large half tray! No, we ordered all different rolls, and they should be packaged as such, not one platter.

One proceeded to apologize and tell me "how overwhelmed everyone is because it is Valentines Day." I didn't have the heart to tell him it was actually Friday the 13th and the restaurant was not even close to packed. If that stresses him out he is in the wrong line of work. Furthermore, you don't trouble customers with this sort of thing. BUT, I digress... 2 stars for the photo of Elvis Presley in the movie Flaming Star! I saw that movie in the theaters, 1961! Actually, 1 star for Elvis and another for the water service (more about that later.) We ordered the Octopus and Fried Pickles as app's. The Octopus was loaded with garlic, but otherwise under seasoned and flavorless and was a comically small portion - a "sliver." Loaded with fingerling potatoes though! The fried pickles were about as "good" as something you would get from a bad food truck. Both (over) priced like it was prepared by a Michelin chef (which of course, it was not.) Next up - the Porterhouse for two. Ordered Medium rare and arrived Medium Well, to actually Well done (i.e.. solid GREY) on the Filet side. Because our server considered his job done after our entree's arrived, it was a chore to find him and flag him down to send it back. It took a disproportionate amount of time to bring us a new one, like 40 minutes. We got multiple apologies but no visit from management (which is customary in a place that fancies themselves "high end") and no offers to comp anything to make things right. Finally we get our Medium rare steak which honestly, was chewy and tough. Our server disappeared like a ghost after we got our Porterhouse "re-do" which is too bad because we needed a few things...like salt for the flavorless steak fries. Maybe he was busy? After all, it WAS Valentines Day! One plus - there is an almost OCD-like fascination with filling your water glass! Take one sip and an arm will magically appear next to you to top it off! Give that man a raise! First time/last time - awful.

Speaking of the food, let's get into it. Mango Avocado Roll: Refreshing and Delicious. This was a great appetizer to my poke bowl. Oasis Poke Bowl: This was deliciously refreshing as well, however it doesn't come with any sauce. I asked for a side of teriyaki which made everything better; elevated the entire bowl. Surf N Turf: I will order this moving forward as my go-to roll. The beef was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the salmon. This roll itself filled me up, I thought I was going to order something else but I was done after that. Salmon and Shrimp Teriyaki: My partner gets this each time and I am always so excited to throw my fork into his plate. The teriyaki sauce here is so tasty, I want to put it on everything! The salmon and shrimp are also cooked super well, no chewiness here. Great amount of crisp on the salmon, the way it slides onto the fork is beautiful to watch. Vegetable Gyoza: The star of the show!! Best appetizer they have truly. I was so sad when there was no more. But thankful to have been able to experience such a great starter. Sweet Potato Roll: (Not pictured) The roll was ok, I liked it but felt like it was missing something. Maybe I would have liked it if it was Korean sweet potatoes. I won't order again because the menu is so extensive I can't limit myself to something I thought was ok. (4/5) Overall, Shokudo is a fantastic place to eat. It's truly an experience. We ordered: - 물냉면 + 목살구이 Mul Naengmyun Cold Noodle + Pork Neck BBQ $24.99: the thin noodles are super bouncy and chewy, excellent take on a summer classic! The extra side of bbq pork cheek was marinated and grilled to tender perfection. - 소고기 국밥 Spicy Guk Bap $17.99: lightly spicy beef broth with bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of beef, served over rice.
