A Christmas shopping date to the nearby Ross and Marshalls left us hungry for lunch... so around the corner of them, we found this Thai and Sushi spot that had been recommended and decided to try it out. From the outside, it is a small strip mall shop that houses a restaurant... but the great quality and freshness of all the food we ordered, certainly set this restaurant apart We ordered some spring rolls straight away and they were so good and deliciously warm that o didn't even take a picture! There is 4 small rolls to a portion and they were a great appetizer. I opted for the sushi roll with the shrimp tempura, avocado and asparagus and it was huge and delicious! I also tasted some of my friend's chicken fried rice and that was very good as well. We also ordered the beef salad and it looked excellent but I was so full, I didn't taste any! For drinks I had the Jasmin tea and it was fragrant and delicate- very yummy! Overall, service was prompt and very fast and cordial and our experience was excellent ! No wait - many tables- despite it being a Sunday lunch, this jewel or a restaurant was available and ready to receive us so we were very happy for that! Ohhhhh the disappointment. Today I was in the area and suddenly craved some sushi. Opted for the Kanisu roll which was described on the menu as cucumber wrapped roll with imitation crab, shrimp and avocado. The roll was $12 and was prepared pretty quickly. It came in a small container. Upon closer inspection, what I saw in the container was 6 rolls and a skinny piece of shrimp randomly placed. It looked like garnish rather than a part of my roll. I am a big fan of sushi and I have lived in the area for over 20 years. Sushi spots tend to be a little pricey out here but the rolls are large and filling. This roll left me feeling like I didn't even eat because not only is it only 6 pieces, it was also thin. To make matters worse, that little piece of shrimp was super fishy. I took one tiny bite and it made me gag!!! The roll itself was good but rest assured I will never order that again. $12 should AT LEAST BE 8-10 pieces because what's inside, 6 tiny pieces of avocado, a little bit of fake crab, and one skinny piece of shrimp about the length of my thumb wrapped with a few thin pieces of cucumber. To sum up this pad Thai, I have to say it is my new favorite Pad Thai that I have had! Extremely flavorful, great portion, and a fantastic lunch special! It comes with either a soup or salad too and I chose a ginger salad which was phenomenal! It had a great dressing which is something you don't always see! What's also great is that it's in a plaza with a ton of options plus the food came out very hot and quickly too so it isn't somewhere you are waiting for a long time to get your order! Compared to other Pad Thai I had recently, this place is ten times better. I hope to come back soon. Second time going here. First time for lunch, which was very good. Second time for dinner which also was very good. Must try the coconut milk hot soups with chicken. My favorite! I also had the traditional Pad Thai which was a very generous portion. My wife ordered the Garlic Sauce chicken with vegetables and brown rice. Service was very good, team waiting. This was the first sushi I have had in a year (or perhaps longer?!), and the first time I dined sitting down (not having takeout). Thank you, first vaccine shot! I ate at an outside table for 4 with a chair in between me and those walking on the sidewalk. Also, all of the servers wore masks uncompromisingly, so I felt pretty safe. I shared a delicious appetizer with my tablemate, an eggroll with lettuce and raw avocado inside. It was so yummy! I love the fried and fresh together, and that is where I kept going for sushi! On my friend's recommendation, I ordered the Poseidon Roll. I might love any sushi roll with tempura flakes and eel sauce on top of it, but I am not so adventurous when it comes to fish eggs or raw items I might be able to identify. This roll tasted excellent though, and I could mostly fit each piece into my mouth completely; it's always a bit awkward to try to shove stray sushi pieces back into my mouth with chopsticks... I ended up at this spot on a Saturday around noon. I came here with my parents because my dad was craving the sashimi salad. This place is located inside a plaza and there is plenty of parking. We ordered a lot of food but my favorite were the rice-less rolls. I loved the one with the salmon. Also the sashimi salad was delicious. I also ordered the orange salmon. To drink I got the Thai tea and it was perfectly sweet and delicious. We sat outside and we had great service. The staff kept checking in on us and we were able to get our food in a timely manor. I love that this restaurant is so close to my house. So close that I could actually walk if I wasn't so lazy LOL. It's located in The Tower Shops shopping plaza right on the corner of Dykes Road and Miramar Parkway in west Miramar. The restaurant is pretty small but big enough for plenty of seating inside and they offer outside seating as well. They have a pretty big menu with a lot of variety. We ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken with white rice, fried rice, fried dumplings and avocado eggrolls for an appetizer. Everything was so good. My favorite was the avocado eggrolls. I'll go back just for that, it's a must try. The service was good and the food came out pretty fast. They are practicing social distancing and you must wear your mask if you're dining inside. My last review was in 2018 so I thought I'd give my favorite sushi spot an updated review with an extra star! For the sake of convenience, this is my top spot for take out during the pandemic. It also helps that the sushi/food is good. Silver Spoon is in biking/walking distance of my house, but I still drive to pick up takeout or order on UberEats. They have perfected the art of pick up orders, designating the the area as soon as you walk in for them. They have sanitizer & you can pay using a card or Apple Pay/Andriod Pay for ease. They used to only allow one person at a time inside to pick up orders but now that indoor dining is allowed, the have some dining in and out. I love the "Thank you" stickers attached to their brown paper bag orders for the added personalized touch. Its important to support local restaurants during this time and that thanks is a little reminder that our orders help support them. As far as my order, my usual is a dynamite roll. When I'm ravenous I order the Poseidon roll. Always with a side of seaweed salad! With the amount of times I've ordered from here, I should work my way through the menu. Good food, generous portions at a fairly decent price. Takeout was packed well and still hot when we got home. The pad see ew was delicious - my 5 year old gobbled the whole dish at one sitting. There's more than one location of Silverspoon. Typically I frequent the Miami Lakes location, but this time around, getting food from the Miramar location made more sense. Ordered a few staples through Uber Eats. Got a spicy green curry with beef, a miso soup, a dragon roll, and some Thai donuts. The curry was for my boyfriend and his response for it was essentially delicious but overflowing with coconut milk. As for the rest of the stuff, let's see. The miso soup was hot and had lots of greens and tofu. I was beyond pleased with it and I kind of wish I had ordered a second one. Definitely one of the better ones I've had in awhile. The dragon roll was properly packaged, filling, and freshly made with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce offerings. I'd have thought they'd have included spicy mayo, but I guess this is one of the things you have to ask for. The Thai donuts were tasty, but I don't think they closed the condensed milk container too well. Some of the condensed milk had toppled over, but it is what it is. Came here on a Sunday night for dinner... I've heard good things about the sushi here... they also have another location in Miami lakes. It is located in a plaza on miramar parkway and dykes.. next to some pizza places. The inside is updated and seems to be new. They do have little TVs at the bar and by the tables. The employees are nice and great you when you walk in. We decided to try one of the special rolls and one of the regular sushi rolls. One was the Miami roll and the other was the fantasy roll. The fish was very fresh and the rolls were as described. Nice big pieces and very filling, we did enjoy them a lot. I didnt realize until the end that my fantasy roll didnt come with the spicy asian sauce it was suppose to come with, by time I realized it I was almost done and it really could of used a sauce. Overall nice variety on the menu of different dishes, many choices besides sushi. For a Sunday night there was still a good amount of people there. Pretty good spot! The food was really good and definitely a great price for the amount you get. My server was friendly. The menu is super large (so you will never get bored) and they let you adjust your rolls as you like. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars, is because it was a little uncomfortably warm inside the restaurant (like I broke a small sweat and I don't normally sweat too easily). However, this didn't affect the food itself and is an easy fix. Overall, would definitely recommend! read more

I have a complaint to make about my yesterday's order (code 3381) in name of Alexandre Focante. I know and go to Silver Spoon for years, I literally lives around the corner. One time back some years, the quality was going really bad and I never ordered anything there anymore. With all this situation, trying to support local business, I decided to give another chance to them, and I ordered around 4 or 5 times, until yesterday. Yesterday this was my order below, and I can tell you 2 of the sushis was really bad, and I really know sushi, I have been eating sushi all over the world. Those ones, the EEL ROLL and the PASCALE ROLL I am pretty sure it was "old", with a very bad tough and old rice which you can feel in the first bite. The Avocado in the Pascale Roll was getting dark, which is not normal for the first hours you open an avocado, so it means this order was there forever, old, not fresh, and I just had to garbage all those, I didn't eat, I don't take my chances on that, and I lost that money. I am very very very disappointed, Silver Spoon lost me again, and I will now recommend never you guys to anyone. Is unacceptable to send sushi, your main business, with old and hard rice, typically old and probably sitting there all day, this is disrespectful specially in this times of crises where we are trying to support local business. Been coming for years, the food has consistently been great, and the customer service has improved immensely over the years! The best udon I've had, the waiters are extremely accommodating towards the little ones I come with(it's been that long I've been coming to this place, that I was a kid and now bring kids to eat here!). The miso soup was barely warm. White rice was dry and not moist like they failed to cook with enough water. There was a bug I found 1/4 way thru the rice, the waitress reported this to the manager and offered to remove my entree off the bill. As we finished up the meal there was a German roach crawling under the table. During the pandemic we ordered a whole snapper to go. When we got home they chopped and fried the snapper in small pieces - it was dry so we returned the fish and had to fight to get our $$$ back. A whole snapper does not mean chunks of fish. During that time I ordered Pad Thai they always cooked with fresh bell peppers, I could tell the peppers were soggy from either being old or they used frozen peppers. Silver Spoon always seemed clean to us but has been cited in the past. We will not be returning. read more

First it took them a few minutes to acknowledge me, then once they did I was sat at the bar- cool, I got to watch the guys and gals make some sushi. Then I sat there. I sat some more. And then I sat event more. Eventually I saw the girls talking to each other and then one asked if I had been helped. When I said no she came over. I ordered a lunch special: the sashimi with miso soup. I asked for a salad as well because I love that ginger salad dressing. And I got an iced tea to drink. The iced tea had no ice which is like the biggest pet peeve of mine. The salad and soup were good. I wish I would had stopped there. The sashimi was not good. It was not fresh and smelled like I was inside the middle of a fish market. They forgot my rice so I had to later ask for that. The sashimi was $14 which I didn't know about until I got my check because they don't list the prices on their lunch menu. Definitely wasn't worth it. The service was not great at all. I asked for a refill and she gave me another iced tea with no ice and then a cup with just ice. Why not just give me an iced tea with ice? Maybe their Thai food is better?
