    Sweet Orange

The sushi selection was a great variety and some new one's like the Sweet Orange was a nice refreshing take and could be a dessert. Clever takes on sushi. Service was attentive and helpful. I was surprised more people weren't there as it was a nice and maybe hard to get out of the parking lot is all I could think or hard to find/see. J say give them a try!

Still one of my favorite go to sushi restaurant located in downtown Danville. Over the years, owners have changed, service had its ups and down, yet sticking to their side for the last 10 years coming here. Great food, quality ingredients, and friendly staff. Food: 1. Volcanic Scallops roll {5/5 stars, $13.95} - California roll topped with spicy scallops in a sweet unagi orange sauce. One of my new favorites. 2. California rolls {4/5 stars, $6.50} - A simple, yet tasty roll that comes with crab and avocado. Yummy. 3. Cherry blossom roll {4/5 stars, $16.95} - A little pricey, but definitely delicious. A mix of tuna, salmon, and avocado topped with tobiko. 4. Lion King roll {4/5 stars, $13.95} - California roll topped with cooked salmon and a sweet unagi sauce. Perfect for those who liked cooked fish. 5. Tuna roll {4/5 stars, $7.50} - A Fresh salmon roll with rice. Nice tender tuna with soft rice. 6. Yokohama Ultimate {4/5 stars, $23} - A large roll able to feed 2, which contains an assortment of fish, onions, tempura, avocado, crab, and salmon. A little bit too much flavor for my taste. 7. Beef Udon {4/5 stars, $13} - A Rich, meaty broth, with an assortment of delicious vegetables with tender beef and a sweet broth. Perfect for cold days! Service: Friendly and prompt. Orders always on time and ready. Overall: A great solid place to pick of sushi for any occasion. Friendly service, great tasting rolls, and fresh ingredients. Cant go wrong.

Food is delicious and under this COVID environment, I trust their health protocols. I always get the Chirashi bowl, ramen, and a couple California rolls. They package their food neatly and securely to go and take my food home to eat. Currently they don't have in door dinning but they way they pack their food is as close as you can get to eating at home. Prices are reasonable. I recommend their any of their rolls.

Best sushi place in town! Amazing quality and the chef was very pleasant. Fresh fish quality and good vibes. Would come back again.

Was craving sushi and decided to try this place out. They're offering delivery and pickup during COVID, and included utensils and lots of soy sauce and condiments. I tried their chicken katsu, dragon roll, and lion king roll, and was pleasantly surprised. The rice in the sushi was perfect and their chicken katsu was crispy and not overly oily and included a side salad with oranges. Both rolls tasted better than average - the dragon roll shrimp got a little soggy but that's to be expected with delivery. Overall, it was a great dine at home experience. Sushi was good, and bento was great. I loved how they included the bento sauce on the side, and packaged the sushi so that it's pretty cleanly separated from the wasabi and ginger.

Had dinner at Sushi Yokohama and left with a satisfied tummy! We arrived right at dinner time and was immediately seated. After taking a look over the menu, my party and I decided to order the Edamame appetizer, Shrimp Tempura, Yokohama Ultimate, Hoon's Lion King, and a sashimi/sushi sampler. Our meal also came with a salad and miso soup. Everything was fresh and delicious. Out of everything we ordered, the Hoon's Lion King and the sashimi/sushi sampler were my personal favorite. Service was friendly and quick, and prices were fair. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Overall, I had a nice time and would definitely come back!

Lower tier sushi. But a pretty damn good one. The price was good so the value was good. The sushi rice and fish for the nigiri were a pleasant surprise. The roll was unique. Not my cup of tea usually but it was tasty. The gyoza were really good. Perfectly fried and crispy. I'll be back the next time I'm in the mood for this level of Japanese food especially location wise. First Timers- had an early Father's Day lunch for the husband. Our son suggested it and thought why not try it out. The place was pretty quiet, not too busy. There were about five other customers. The ambiance was nice. They had a section for kids to play in. We ordered 4 lion kings(which we really liked), a titantic( hubby really enjoyed), kids Bento boxes(spam musubi and the other was a chicken teriyaki). The kids chicken bento box came with gyzo, salad, miso soup, rice, and chicken teriyaki. A pretty good portion. Also, ordered a chicken teriyaki and tempura bento box, dragon rolls(3).We spent $150 for all. Not bad. We all voted that we would come here again. Try other items on the menu. Staff was nice. Small parking lot.

Don't go here. New ownership as of May '19 has taken a 4 star sushi spot to 0 stars. My family and used to really like it here but we will never go again. Woefully understaffed. 2 servers couldn't keep up with people coming in or the people at the tables. They couldn't keep anyone's order straight or the checks straight. Food has gone down hill BADLY. The Sashimi was cut with the tendons still in the fish. You couldn't chew the sashimi. It took over an hour to get two entrees served. A full 20 minutes before the next two were served. The appetizers were served 10 minutes after everyone was done and waiting for the check. No apologies from management.

So incredibly overpriced and disappointing. Their "premium" nigiri (10 pc for $75) was not premium at all. In fact, it was worse than basic/cheap nigiri you get elsewhere. All the pieces were tiny, half of them were chewy, and not at all what the menu said they were supposed to be. For instance, the "king salmon" was "sad" salmon and garnished with some kind of orange marmalade-bizarre and gross. I had to choke down the "Wagyu" nigiri because it was so chewy. I couldn't believe how bad it all was. I should have known the dinner was doomed after I ordered their "Crab amuse," which was three pieces ($18!!) of shredded IMITATION crab wrapped in the thinnest piece of tuna you've ever seen, then placed in a weird, sweet cream sauce. Even the miso soup (which I've never received with nigiri omakase, but ok) was barely room temperature and totally watered down. Sorry, Ukai. I have no idea how your reviews are so high, but you have no business operating as a "sushi" bistro or whatever you want to call yourself. Sigh.

We ordered the dinner combo where you can pick two items for $25.99--such a great deal. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the tempura was perfectly crispy and light. We also ordered walu nigiri and uni nigiri, both of which tasted incredibly fresh. On top of that, we tried the Bank Roll--a spicy tuna roll with shrimp tempura topped with a spicy sauce--and it was amazing. Great texture, great flavor, and just the right kick. Honestly, everything we ordered--from the soup and salad to the rolls and nigiri--was super fresh and really well prepared. You can tell they take pride in the food here. Tucked away in Walnut Creek, this is the perfect intimate, casual sushi spot for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and fresh ingredients made for an outstanding dining experience. We started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which arrived hot, crispy, and perfectly light without feeling greasy. It was the ideal appetizer to share. For our rolls, we ordered the Volcano Roll, featuring spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the Arizona Roll, made with crab and topped with seared albacore. Both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The freshness of the fish was the star of the meal. The seared albacore on the Arizona Roll practically melted in your mouth, and every bite had a clean, fresh taste that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The Volcano Roll delivered a delicious combination of textures and flavors, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. Nothing was overpowering--you could truly taste the freshness of the fish and the care that went into each roll. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, allowing us to enjoy the meal at a comfortable pace. Fresh fish, crispy tempura, creative rolls, and exceptional hospitality make this a standout sushi destination in Walnut Creek. The only downside? Once you finish your last piece, you'll wish you had ordered more. We enjoyed our experience so much that we're already looking forward to coming back to try the omakase, which will definitely be on our next order.
