    Dragon sushi

First time here as a local in Danville, and went on a Friday night that is super busy, with at least four tables reserved (no one sitting), with tables full of patrons, and appeared to be either behind in service already, with 2 servers and 2 sushi chefs. We got seated within 5 minutes, and our order was taken after 15 minutes, and our order came 30+ minutes later. More people came and were willing to wait, so we thought we will give it a try, despite the wait. Ordered Cali roll, dragon roll (which in my opinion was a small serving/with smaller cut rolls) and we ordered with real crab too, which is an additional $4. Had the chirashi, and also seemed like a smaller serving of fish compared to the norm around the area. For the price (and I get inflation), we expected more for the buck.

Sadly another mediocre sushi restaurant in the area. The agedashi tofu was very hard and rubbery and tasted exceptionally fishy. The spicy tuna in the kibo roll tasted rancid. The tempura shrimp roll had LOTs of salad in it; very odd. Not on the repeat list.

I ordered takeout after a long tournament down the street at San Ramon Valley High School. Based on the great reviews snd location, I decided to give it a try. I ordered 2 rolls, rainbow roll and a special roll they made me since they do not have cherry blossom or orange blossom rolls. I also got an 8 piece sashimi (tuna/salmon) and salmon teriyaki. When I picked up the food the total was $100 and change. I noticed the 8 piece sashimi was $35 and thought, damn thats expensive! Anyhow once I unpacked everything we were ready to eat. Rolls were pretty good but on the smaller side. Sashimi was thick cut and good as well. The salmon teriyaki the hubs said was okay, so I am guessing nothing special. He had to scoop off the pickled radish on top and pour the sauce before eating. Overall a good place if craving Japanese in the area but nothing that would compel me to return.

A tiny hole-in-the-wall sushi spot for your sushi cravings. We took my boyfriend's parents to eat sushi, and it was surprisingly good! ***What we ordered **Hotate (Scallop) & Hamachi Nigiri (10/10) ~ The quality of the nigiri is fantastic. The Hamachi was fatty, and it melts in your mouth. It doesn't leave a weird fishy aftertaste. The hotate was delicious; it was so soft and flavorful I would highly recommend you try it! **Butterfly roll (8/10) ~ This came with Unagi, avocado, tempura crunch, and cucumber. This roll wasn't too bad! I wasn't sure if they added the cucumber inside because I couldn't feel the crunch texture while eating the roll. But, this was pretty good! **Kibo Roll (9/10) The Kibo roll came with tuna tartar, tempura shrimp, salmon, red onion, microgreens, and black tobiko! This roll had a nice kick to it! You wouldn't think it's spicy, but it is. The roll is super flavorful! I'd probably get it again. **I don't know Roll (10/10) For $21, the chef will create a roll for you, and it was AMAZING. I'm not sure what was inside; I think it was crab, shrimp tempura, and spicy ahi? But the sweet purée they dressed the roll with on the side made the roll 10000x better! I would get this again!!! Overall, The staff was friendly, the food came out fast, and everything tasted delicious! If I happen to be in Danville again, I would not mind coming back!

Review a month overdue. This is now my favorite sushi spot in the area. Little quaint place that gets really busy. The owner Brandon and his wife Unsa (not sure if I spelled it right) are absolutely the greatest! Welcoming, attentive, and the food is sooooo darn delicious. From their pork belly to hamachi, and all the rolls we tried. Especially the Marie roll and Isabel roll..everything ordered was yummm!! Definitely a place I shall return to! Thank yous Brandon and Unsa!!

    Love the inside.

Great neighborhood Japanese restaurant with good food, fresh sushi and friendly service! Our group of twelve enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes, sushi and sashimi. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. My sashimi salad was so good. Fresh mixed greens were lightly tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with generous sized sashimi. Rolls are creative and well made. My son ordered the "I Don't Know" and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I had to take a star off because 3 people in our group ordered the pork belly katsu and it was unavailable. However, everything else was so good we will definitely be back!

So incredibly overpriced and disappointing. Their "premium" nigiri (10 pc for $75) was not premium at all. In fact, it was worse than basic/cheap nigiri you get elsewhere. All the pieces were tiny, half of them were chewy, and not at all what the menu said they were supposed to be. For instance, the "king salmon" was "sad" salmon and garnished with some kind of orange marmalade-bizarre and gross. I had to choke down the "Wagyu" nigiri because it was so chewy. I couldn't believe how bad it all was. I should have known the dinner was doomed after I ordered their "Crab amuse," which was three pieces ($18!!) of shredded IMITATION crab wrapped in the thinnest piece of tuna you've ever seen, then placed in a weird, sweet cream sauce. Even the miso soup (which I've never received with nigiri omakase, but ok) was barely room temperature and totally watered down. Sorry, Ukai. I have no idea how your reviews are so high, but you have no business operating as a "sushi" bistro or whatever you want to call yourself. Sigh.

We ordered the dinner combo where you can pick two items for $25.99--such a great deal. We chose the beef teriyaki and shrimp & vegetable tempura, and the combo also comes with miso soup, salad, and rice. Everything was delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the tempura was perfectly crispy and light. We also ordered walu nigiri and uni nigiri, both of which tasted incredibly fresh. On top of that, we tried the Bank Roll--a spicy tuna roll with shrimp tempura topped with a spicy sauce--and it was amazing. Great texture, great flavor, and just the right kick. Honestly, everything we ordered--from the soup and salad to the rolls and nigiri--was super fresh and really well prepared. You can tell they take pride in the food here. Located in the same shopping center as Safeway, and an abundance of other drink and food places…read more(several right next to it in this corner alone), you will find Senro Sushi. Just to note, there's at least two other sushi places around here, with one across the street and one just down the street in the shopping center next to this one, there' no shortages of sushi spots here. However, with Senro Sushi, if you want affordability it's probably one of the more affordable ones out of all 3 in this area. The place itself is pretty big, with lots of seating inside and very spacious all around with a pretty massive sushi bar area. They are staffed well overall, as even when you go in the morning there's usually a couple of servers at least, and several sushi chefs behind the sushi bar counter area, prepping fish, cutting, making sushi and etc. The service here is pretty good overall. Haven't had any issues. The menu here is, pretty big. They have a bit of everything that's not just sushi options of course. I've tried several things here already, so let me just go through each thing. The lunch bento is probably the best bang for your buck here. Compared to the other sushi spots, you won't be able to find one as cheap as them, and the amount of stuff you get here with it is pretty good too. This bento box does come with miso soup and also a tasty salad (dressing is yummers). You will also get a California Roll with it, which is amazing because their California here is actually quite tasty. One of the better ones hands down. You have the option to choose two other things from the menu (if you choose to go with 2 items), and decide what you want. I've tried the chicken teriyaki, the chicken katsu, and the tempura. All have been good. Hands down what you should get if you're here at that time on a weekday. The Agadashi tofu was just okay. Wasn't terrible, but felt their dashi was really bland, and the tofu itself wasn't fried that well. It needs to be more crisp to avoid it just falling apart when moist. Also, the batter they used just didn't have any flavor to it at all. It was okay. The sushi roll we got was yum. I don't really have much else to say about it other than that it was good. The fish was fresh, the spicy fish was good, and the sauces blended well. Good. The chicken egg don was not great. We had actually mistakenly ordered this instead of the katsudon, and this was just awful. The chicken didn't feel well cooked, the broccoli was just straight steamed with no sauce on it. The egg was overcooked, and not even remotely fluffy for what this is supposed to be. Just overall not at all what I had expected. Overall, Senro is a great spot for affordable sushi options in this area in San Ramon. While it's not going to offer anything super flashy, which the sushi spot in the shopping center across the street may offer, it's also going to be much less of a bill here when all said and done. The bento boxes are hands down the best option here for those here on a weekday lunch. The sushi rolls here are also great. Some of the other stuff we had were just, okay, but overall, was a nice experience here right near the Crow Canyon freeway exit.

Tucked away in Walnut Creek, this is the perfect intimate, casual sushi spot for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and fresh ingredients made for an outstanding dining experience. We started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which arrived hot, crispy, and perfectly light without feeling greasy. It was the ideal appetizer to share. For our rolls, we ordered the Volcano Roll, featuring spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the Arizona Roll, made with crab and topped with seared albacore. Both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The freshness of the fish was the star of the meal. The seared albacore on the Arizona Roll practically melted in your mouth, and every bite had a clean, fresh taste that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The Volcano Roll delivered a delicious combination of textures and flavors, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. Nothing was overpowering--you could truly taste the freshness of the fish and the care that went into each roll. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit.
