I KEEP giving them chance after chance after chance. But they seriously cannot follow simple instructions. I even called ahead after I placed the order and told them to make sure to read the notes. They insured me that they would. Come to find out once I get home they added extra wasabi when I specifically asked for extra ginger. AND SIMPLY asked for the roll to be THIN cut. I've ordered so many times they're familiar with my order. It's ALWAYS a thin cut roll. This is just pathetic. If I didn't have discount code from DoorDash this time I would have spent $30 on this order. BE WARNED!! The only reason I order from this restaurant is because it's convenient. I would love to have a reliable fresh sushi restaurant like Akira in downtown Danville in Blackhawk. ( if you live in downtown Danville don't bother coming up this way stick to Akira there) The owner offered me a credit once but that doesn't excuse the countless mess up of orders continuously. This is about the final straw. I'll have to continue to make yelp posts like this until something seriously changes.

    Popcorn Chicken (5 stars)

We came here for lunch, after a morning visit to the Blackhawk Museum for the first, Mid-Autumn Asian Moon Festival celebration. Blue Sakana takes over the spot previously occupied by Blue Gingko. The cuisine style seems the same to me - sushi, sashimi, teriyaki entrees and yes a pretty big cocktail menu. The food quality and service turned out exceptional, so 5 stars. Apps The free miso soup was very good - balanced, light, and not excessively salty. Popcorn chicken was fried crispy outside and soft and juicy inside. For a refreshing cocktail, the Ginger Mojito is a good option. Entrees Our 3yo loves teriyaki salmon, and the Blue Sakana version is a thick-cut Scottish Salmon with a nice rich glaze. Fish was moist and just perfect when mixed with sushi rice. Both the Teriyaki Chicken bowl and Diablo Ramen were both solid dishes too. It's tough running a restaurant, especially at Blackhawk Plaza given the high cost and loss of the theater and limited shopping. Hopefully Blue Sakana can thrive!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located centrally in a beautiful upscale mall by the pond with whimsically decorated interior, this restaurant offers wonderful outdoor and indoor dining options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fish, the freshest, you can tell as soon as you taste the creamy uni! They offer some appetizers that are unique like the lettuce wrap and old favorite done right like fried calamari. Even their miso soup is special; they add mushrooms for enhanced flavor and texture. Service was also out of the league. Servers were very attentive but understated, the best! This just became my new favorite dinner spot after a round of golf!!

    Sashimi salad... Amazing!

The service is lacking a bit since they changed ownership. I think they're doing their best, but it's a bit of a mess. That said, they have the BEST sashimi salad!! The only thing that they don't include with it (but they'll bring if you ask) is ginger and wasabi. The sushi is also good, but the "soicy" edamame leaves a bit to be desired. It's more oily, a little spicy and a bit flavorless. The grilled artichoke was MUCH better, but I wasn't a fan of the aioli as it was a bit one note. I do think they'll figure out service, but it's not been the best. The last two times I went, we had to get up to find our server just to get our order taken. I say go either way. It can be my imagination, but I felt like the service was better outside than inside. Maybe because there are more people outdoors in the warmer weather & their focus is there?? Not sure. I say 100% get the sashimi salad if you're a sashimi lover like me. So good! Cocktails are pretty good, too, but their alcohol selections were a bit limited. Overall this is a regular go-to for me, and it will continue to be until further notice.

Sorry I forgot the name but the drink was good and gave me a lil buzz!

Best to make reservations before you head to the restaurant to guarantee a table, otherwise you can end up sitting at the bar height area with other people, which is also fine. On a nice day, it's comfortable to sit outside whether for lunch or dinner. Menu is pretty straight forward. It was busy on a Friday for dinner but our waitress did her best to attend to everything. I am posting a picture of my drink. It gave me a lil buzz so i'm gonna say it's perfect.

The service was also amazing everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros, breakfast potatoes, sourdough French toast, and a blackberry mojito, and I enjoyed everything. The sourdough French toast was definitely my favorite it had such a good balance of sweetness, and the sourdough flavor cut through it just enough that it wasn't overly sweet or cloying. And my boyfriend, who isn't vegan, ended up finishing the French toast, which is how I KNOW it was objectively delicious The blackberry mojito was also delicious and super refreshing for brunch. I also love that they have outdoor seating, and the area around the restaurant is really cute to walk around and explore afterward. Overall, such a great brunch spot with delicious food, adorable vibes, great service, and plenty to explore nearby. I'd definitely come back to try out the their lunch options

Everything sounded delicious, but we went with the recommendations made by a staff member. We decided to share the infamous smash burger, the watermelon salad, and the pistachio bread. For drinks, we both got an iced lavender latte, which was delicious. I loved how the cardamom complemented the lavender so well and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The smash burger was the best vegan patty I have had in years. It was very flavorful and moist. The watermelon salad was delicious, especially the avocado mousse. The pistachio cream on the pistachio bread was so addicting. I wish I could have bought a bottle of it! Every single item was crafted so well with the freshest ingredients. It was nice going to a place that focused less on soy, and more on whole foods and flavor. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for brunch.

The hostess was kind and sat us immediately, but seemed a little stressed out, could just be due a very busy night. A warm smile goes a long way. Our waitress was Catherine, absolutely wonderful and so friendly. She was patient and sweet. The kind of hire Tides should feel lucky to have. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5....the Grey seats we were seated in are so low, felt like we had to stand up every time we reached across table and could barely hear each other. Beautiful decor but not super practical for dining. Will definitely return soon.

So we sat in the patio which had fans and nice plants which shaded well. Felt like sitting a garden and was cool. However when walked through the restaurant to the patio it was almost all empty and plenty of tables so kinda odd. Service was okay, kinda slower than I expected. Poor server also spilled water all over me but I was thankfully wearing shorts so it was okay. Food was great though! We ordered a Sedona chicken sandwich with garlic fries and chicken picatta. Sandwich was kinda like a grilled chicken burger. The thicken breast was moist and fries were crispy and tasty. Chicken picatta was delicious and perfectly mixed with mashed potatoes, spinach, capers. The chicken wasn't dry. Pear martini was the best. I would come here just for this drink. I think they home make the syrup. Old fashioned was good but a little sweet.

The place was super lively and honestly pretty packed during my visit on a week night. The lounge itself is on the smaller side, but cozy. I like the concept, there are wire racks on the wall and each table has a little wooden game board on top (mine was Chinese checkers), such a cute touch and makes the place feel a bit more interactive. Their signature cocktail menu has a lot of options, but since it was our first time, we asked the bartender for a recommendation. He suggested "Meet Me In Pearis" since we wanted something vodka-based. The drink took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a bit long, but it looked like he was the only one working, serving two big parties plus a few tables, so I get it. Service overall was still good and he was nice the whole time. For the drink... honestly, it didn't really wow me. Both the flavor and presentation were pretty underwhelming. It kind of tasted like a glass of sangria to me. I guess with "Artisanal" in the name, I was expecting something a little more unique or elevated. Overall, great location, nice vibes, and I like the interior concept. Service was solid too. Just wish the drink matched the same level. Probably wouldn't come back, but glad I got to check it off my list.
