Crumbs has a small parking lot that can get full on a busy weekend. Luckily there's other parking nearby, I parked close to the library which is less than a 5 minute walk away. I believe I showed up on a Saturday close to 12pm and had to wait 20 minutes which wasn't too bad. Lotsssss of options here, I was definitely overwhelmed but ultimately went with the biscuits & gravy which came with eggs my way, 3 sausages, and a side of my choice (I chose roasted potatoes). I also got a pitcher of mimosas and a ube coconut latte. The ube coconut latte was sweet and good prior to mixing it. Mixing it, it did taste like coffee with a hint of ube. I like sweet lattes so I prefer it premixing it. The biscuits, gravy and sausage was soooo good. I do wish the gravy was hotter, it was a bit lukewarm but still good. Eggs were eggs, potatoes were okay and I'd probably go with hash brown next time. The country fried steak was also good! Portions were definitely huge and fulfilling. I'd definitely come back! I'd absolutely mention the contrast without naming or trashing the other restaurant in Crumb's review. It actually makes their kindness stand out more. We came to Crumb after having an unpleasant experience at another restaurant nearby, and I have to say--the difference in hospitality was immediate. I was already a little on edge when we walked in, but from the moment we arrived, everyone at Crumb was kind, welcoming and smiling. Our server was wonderful, attentive and made us feel completely comfortable. It was exactly the kind of service we needed after the experience we'd just had. And then the FOOD came! Everything looked amazing and tasted just as good. We had everything from steak and eggs and waffles to a breakfast burrito and the most over-the-top French toast loaded with strawberries, bananas and chocolate. We had it over and were seated right away. There are so many things on this menu and the vibe here is pretty welcoming. I do love the design of the place, as they have a lot of colorful umbrellas similar to "chandeliers" in the ceiling and it makes it feel really light and happy to dine under them. Came here for lunch with my office to celebrate a birthday. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The room did not look particularly full - maybe our group and three-four others inside but it took 30 minutes+ after ordering to be served. Interior was your typical, clean, spacious breakfast/brunch vibe. Nothing special to note. The food itself was good. My green chilaquiles were delicious and the eggs were cooked well. The steak left some precision to be desired however in terms of the accuracy of the cook temp. First time at Crumbs in Danville after hearing about it for years, and it completely lived up to the hype. Hands down my new favorite breakfast spot in the Tri-Valley! They also have a location up in Pleasant Hill. Took an old colleague out for his birthday on a Friday. We got there a bit early on Friday to beat the rush, which was a good move because the place was packed by lunchtime. The staff was super welcoming and sat us in a great booth right away. There is also an outdoor dining area right in front too. Their menu is huge, but I had to go with my usual benchmark dish: the chicken fried steak. It came out huge, with three over-easy eggs, hash browns, and toast. Amazing gravy on top, it was delicious. My friend loved his pancakes and bacon, and the rest of the table's food (kids' plain cheeseburger with fries and French toast) looked awesome too. Big shoutout to the staff for helping me pull off a birthday surprise, too! I dropped off a cake with the host beforehand, and they brought it out at the end with a candle, played music over the speakers, and got everyone around us to sing along. My friend and I stopped by Crumbs for a quick meal on our way to Costco in Danville and what a great stop it proved to be! It is packed on the weekends and their small parking lot can be full depending on what time you get here, but there's plenty of parking along the streets so it wasn't difficult to find a spot. We did join the Yelp Waitlist ahead of time and still had about a 15-20 minute wait which was fine. They have a few seats outside and inside for those who are waiting. The menu is extensive and it was somewhat tough to figure out exactly what I was hungry for and I ultimately settled for their country fried chicken Benedict because where else have you seen such a combo? The food came out in a timely manner and it was probably one of the rare times that I actually finished all my food. The pancakes arrived so cold that the butter wouldn't even melt. That's never a good sign. We were there for nearly two hours, and our coffee cups sat empty for most of the meal. They were only refilled once--and only after we asked. As someone who specializes in creating guest experiences, I pay attention to the details that many people overlook. The restroom is absolutely part of the overall experience. Had I visited the ladies' room before placing our order, I honestly would have canceled the meal altogether. Based on the condition shown in my video, the restroom was noticeably dirty--and this was during breakfast service. I'd hate to see what it looks like later in the day. Whether it's actually true or not, a dirty restroom creates the impression that the establishment itself isn't being cleaned or maintained with the level of care guests should expect. Perception matters, and that was difficult to ignore. For me, great hospitality is about more than pretty decor. It's about warm food, attentive service, cleanliness, and making guests feel cared for from start to finish. While I appreciated the ease of making a reservation and the stylish interior, the food quality and service simply don't warrant a second visit for me. If great views, cold food, and lukewarm service are your vibe, this may be the perfect place for you. It just wasn't the experience I was hoping for. read more

This place sits right at the corner of a main road there in Danville, I'm blanking on the name right now. There's plenty of seating inside, and also ample seating outside too. Now this menu seemed insanely big. What they do is you scan the QR code with your phone camera like many places do, this one though almost has a menu of the menu of sorts. Basically first thing you see is the categories of the food options they have, then when you hit breakfast for example, they have all the different types of breakfast items. They breakdown the menu that way, simplify it really, but also with a ton to choose from. I ended up getting the chile verde omelette as it was the first time I had ever seen that. Man was it good, added a touch of hot sauce to go with it, and it came with chunks of grilled steak inside too, super grubbin. We'll be back here for sure when in Danville area again for a soccer tourney. read more

I finally got to try Crumbs in person. Some food just don't travel well, so having the food just as it is served makes a lot of difference. This place is very popular, so expect a wait if you're coming during a weekend morning. They are very efficient though, and manage the waitlist well. The interior is very inviting with colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. The servers are attentive and regularly fill water glasses and coffee mugs. BTW, their coffee is really good. Their menus are on iPads, and it's very extensive. They pretty much cover all breakfast items, sandwiches, bowls, burritos, etc. It's really hard to decide with so many options, so we got some of everything. What we ordered: + California Eggs Benny - eggs Benedict with avocados and bacon with a side of hash browns. This is quite good with runny eggs and lots of toppings. Hash browns could have been crisper though. + Waffle Combo - waffles with eggs your way and bacon. Everything was really good. + Chicken and Waffles - their waffles are amazing. There's a sweetness, so maple syrup isn't necessary. The chicken was very crispy, a bit flat, but still tasted good + Crepe a la Christophe - homemade crepes with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. I've been to Crumbs a few times now, including their newer Pleasant Hill location, and I'd easily put it in my top five breakfast spots. I've had the red chilaquiles with chorizo before and they are really good with a lot of flavor and not soggy at all. Most recently I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was probably the best one I've had. At a lot of places the steak ends up being too thin or the gravy is overly salty, but this one was perfectly balanced. The meat was tender, the breading was just right, and the gravy didn't overpower everything. I definitely recommend joining the Yelp waitlist ahead of time if you're going during peak hours. Between the locations, I personally prefer the Pleasant Hill spot since parking is easier and the service has been slightly better from my experience. read more

Even though on this trip they were slammed, the staff were all pleasant and welcomed everyone walking through the door with enthusiasm. They offer seating inside as well as outside. The Danville location feels more spacious compared to the one in Pleasant Hill which made our visit more comfortable. Our server Vivian was the highlight of the experience she was very accommodating, friendly and attentive. She took care of our table so well and made sure everything went smoothly. For food, I ordered the chicken and waffle, a great choice with just the right portion size. I also tried the Crepe Flight Delight. Out of the three, we didn't enjoy the lemon ricotta (the flavor was a bit off for us), while the banana flambé and crepe à la Christophe were okay but nothing outstanding. By the time we left around noon, the line was wrapped around the corner. Service was a bit slow, but nothing that bothered me (others might feel differently). We all started with micheladas--my boyfriend went all in and added chicken, basically turning his into a full meal. I ended up getting Crumbs & All omelet while George opted for the Santa Fe omelet. We also got a couple cups of coffee. The Crumbs & All omelet had four different types of meat, mushrooms, cheese, avocado, and vegetables in it. It was absolutely delicious! The vegetable ingredients were fresh, and the meats provided delightful savoriness in every bite. The country potatoes that accompanied the dish were very good as well. We received excellent service from the staff. They were friendly, attentive, and efficient. This was my first visit to Crumbs and certainly will not be the last! We absolutely picked the wrong items in this visit. We were trying to be healthy, but the pancakes and French toast seems to be they're specialties. I swapped out the chorizo for chicken with the breakfast burrito, yet they added bacon which caused them to have to remake it. When it came out it was just ok. Could've been assembled better. Just wasn't all the way there. Iced tea was good. The wife went with the chilaquiles and they drenched the chips with sauce making them soggy. This is a great spot, great location, and they were busy. However, go with the greedy options like pancakes and French toast. They seem to do well with those. read more
