I really don't enjoy giving bad reviews but I did have some feedback for this restaurant that could help improve things. I ordered Donburi chicken and it was not good at all. I had been a little disappointed in our local sushi place the last couple of times that I went, so sort of put the cuisine on the back burner for the last six months or so. Too bad, because I like having it for lunch as it's a pretty light meal that doesn't interfere with dinner if you have lunch at 2 or 3. We decided to have sushi for a late lunch at the suggestion of the lovely K. I was kind of "meh, I haven't been too happy with our usual the last couple times." She mentioned she had been to Sushico and enjoyed the experience and the food. We decided to give it a go and I am glad we did. The place was clean, the service quick and the food was top notch and abundant. I ordered a sushi box and K the chicken box. The miso soup was very good and a large portion, the Ebi sunomono was pretty to look at, and tasty. The box was fresh, the prawn very hot inside and everything very nicely cooked. This place is delicious. We are on vacation with family and we ate here 4 times. Their sockeye salmon sashimi is fresh. Tonkatsu was crispy. Salmon and Mango salad was refreshing with great house made dressing. Portions were generous. Just love this place. We will be coming back each time we visit. read more

I would recommend the sushi rolls here. They are delicious! I thought the rolls were better than the nigiri. I ordered the chopped scallop roll, salmon roll, and shrimp panko roll. I really enjoyed all of them. The scallop and salmon were sweet and fresh. The shrimp panko roll had a nice crunch and came with a side of dynamite sauce. I also ordered soft shell crab and that was delicious. I asked for a side of ponzu on the side since it was served with cream cheese which was unusual for me. I ordered the hotate scallop sushi and it tasted fishy. I would not recommend nigiri here based on my personal experience. Overall, it was a great meal for appetizers and rolls. read more

I don't find myself out in Langley very often... and don't even get me started on the City of Langley vs the Township of Langley. But we found ourselves in the area one weekend while shopping at one of the large garden centres and we needed to grab a bite to eat. Sushico is a Japanese restaurant (duh) that's located in one of the large strip malls in the City of Langley. The interior is quite spacious (especially compared with the Japanese restaurants in Vancouver) with tall and airy ceilings and tables spaced out appropriately. We decided to try their special lunch boxes: the Sushi and Sashimi Lunch Box ($17) and the Spicy Sashimi Lunch Box ($16) which included rice, gyoza, tempura, California roll, and miso soup. The staff here are quite friendly and seem to really try to please. When we placed our order, they told us that there would be a bit of a wait for our lunch boxes because there was a large party that just placed their order ahead of us. We asked how long and they said about 10 minutes and they were quite apologetic about it (for us, 10 minutes isn't that bad... especially with what we're used to in other restaurants). Still, they brought us out some ebi sunomono to fill our tummies while we waited. These lunch boxes are actually quite filling and there's a good assortment of items in the box. I especially liked the California roll which didn't have too much rice wrapped around it. The sashimi was good... actually... everything was quite good and I wouldn't mind trying out some of their other dishes if we find ourselves in the area again. If you're looking for some quality Japanese food with friendly and helpful service in the Langley area, this is the place to go. read more

The guy seemed annoyed with my presence when I picked up my order. The restaurant was empty - not 1 customer inside - so maybe he was enjoying his quiet time. Food was meh. The prices here have gone up SO much, and the quality has either gone down or stayed the same. I wouldn't advise coming here in the summer - it was super hot inside. To top off my disappointing experience, there was a black hair inside the container lid. Gross. read more

In the Time of Covid, take-out has become our norm. While it is never as good as the dine in experience, restaurants have been stepping up their take-out game. Sushico gave us a top notch home experience Never dined here before, so I can't compare to eating in the restaurant, but having it at home was great! We ordered the large roll platter (4-5 people), and it was the perfect amount for us. The selection was good, and the rolls were well made. Several that we hadn't had before, but every single one was delicious. We will order from here again, and dine in when the opportunity presents itself. read more

Classier than most Valley Japanese, with value lunches and good dinner options. The wuantity and quality are four-star. Great little touches make the plating a cut above the usual tired Japanese bento meal. The room is big and completely open; it could use some dividers for my taste. It feels more intimate at night. I was on my way home last night and decided to try this place on a whim. Friendly service; arrived an hour to closing and didn't feel rushed by the waiters at all, which was nice. Ordered the Viking roll (photographed below) and loved it! My boyfriend ordered a spicy dynamite and the Sushi Co roll (not photographed but SO DELICIOUS - tastes like oyster motoyaki!). This place is spacious and clean, the staff speaks English well (at least from my single experience there)... Expect to pay a little more for the presentation though. Everything was served on "real" dishes, not the typical Asian plastic ware and wooden planks or boats. It sure looked nice but we weren't very impressed with the salmon sashimi. It was room temperature - almost warm by the time it reached the table. The chopped scallop roll had way too much mayo and the panko dynamite roll was the biggest disappointment. I'm used to it being more like a king sized California roll with crab meat and a large prawn tempura rolled into rice and nori with some cucumber strips or avocado. Theirs was literally one prawn tempura rolled with rice and nori and that's it. No crab. Oops, maybe it had some cucumber. It can't have been great if I don't remember. read more

I come here every Sunday for lunch and look forward to it all week. Nice atmosphere, really fresh food, lots of low carb options (like a roll without rice or seaweed) and lovely service. Fast because no one seems to know this place exists. Also love the k-pop tunes!!!! I'm generally very critical of restaurant bathrooms, but the ladies' here is spotless. Not sure about the men's. We had a terrible experience here, maybe seed worse because we were celebrating my husband's birthday. The service was bad - when we entered, it wasn't clear if we had to seat ourselves, and no one was there to greet us, so we went up to the till and asked, where they did eventually get us a table. I ordered one of their dinner specials and my husband ordered two rolls. The gyoza that came with my meal seemed half cooked, like they came from a box. Both of our rolls weren't very fresh. Overall the service wasn't great either, sadly seemed understaffed and disorganized. read more

What a joke! Terrible service. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! We ordered 4 tuna rolls for pick up and when we got home & opened the box they were salmon rolls. I called to talk to the lady and she said to come back down to pick up our correct order. (Most Restaurants would've delivered the correct order for free) I asked what she wanted with the salmon rolls and she said not to bring them back. Assuming because of Covid. When we went to pick up our correct order they refused to give us the food that we ordered. Saying we need to come back a third time with the old salmon rolls. in complete contradiction to what they told us on the phone. They asked for proof so we sent them pictures of the salmon rolls and it was not enough. They were so rude - what a joke of a restaurant. Stay away! BBB here we come! read more

I got lunch takeout so this review is really only about the food. I ordered the appetizer sashimi, spicy tuna roll and a dynamite roll. The rolls were really good. I generally order a spicy tuna roll at any sushi restaurant I go to and this is definitely a good one. The tuna was spicy and the sauce was did not have an over powering cucumber taste that I often hate. The sashimi on the other hand was horrendous, which was disappointing because I was actually craving some good sashimi. The pieces are huge buy most sashimi standards which would be awesome if it was actually good. The salmon was kind of a weird pale orange colour, kinda rubbery and had a bad taste. The tuna was a bit better but by no means good quality. The tuna was edible enough to finish, the salmon not so much. I might go back and order the rolls but I'll steer clear of the sashimi read more

Food was too salty and everything had too much sauce on it. The portions were quite big though. My two-year-old took a long time to finish his dinner and the staff kept coming to ask us how we were doing and brought the bill and the card machine at the last time. Get your sushi/rolls in black rice for only $1.50! And free wifi :) My family went to Sushico for a family birthday. There were 4 of us in the party. Upon walking in, the decor and set-up were delightful. It was chic, and modern. Looked very upscale for a sushi place. Loved the look. However, perhaps because it is new, it still has quite a bit of issues. We were greeted at the door by the waitress who seemed really new. We waited a long time to get asked for our orders. We waited 20 minutes for our Miso soup and unfortunately the server kept spilling the hot miso soup as she served them (mostly on herself). Another LONG time later (I wish I timed it, it felt like another 20 - 40 minutes after the miso soup) my family got their meals. I say they did, because I got mine 10 minutes after they did and all I had ordered was a California roll and 2 pieces of sushi. Now the place was getting busy as the tables were starting to fill but they only had one waitress on. And the busser had mentioned that someone failed to show up for a shift. We had to ask 3 times for the ice cream dessert that came with the meal (once before she gave us the bill, and twice after). The food itself was yummy. I highly recommend the Black rice on the sushi. However not the place if you are on a time constraint. We got there at 6:30 (maybe earlier) and didn't get all of our food till 8pm. Hopefully they get the kinks worked out as the restaurant has a LOT of potential and is just what the area needs. I will give you a second chance in a couple of months, and hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised. read more

When I saw this place setting up a few months ago, it had me curious. Sushi places around here are either terrible or decent. But with decent ones comes the hefty price tag. Not something I am use to being from Vancouver originally. I liked some of the ideas for combinations. Like their dinner option to pick your salad, apply, roll, main and dessert for 25.00. For the most part their sushi prices are on par with other places. The decor was really nice and it definitely was going for the upscale look. I ordered a California roll and a sunomono. I found the California roll to be average at best. The plate was fancy looking and I would rather have less edible garnish and a lesser price. The Ebi sunomono was a complete rip off. I had maybe two good mouthfuls of noodles and two prawns. It also wasn't very cold. I will probably come back and order something more substantial. Right now it's just another overpriced sushi joint in Langley. I would like to mention that my rating would have been higher if they didn't up charge for sockeye salmon. Other places believe in sustainable and healthy fish. read more

Off to a little bit of rocky start, as we sat for 15 minutes without anyone coming to see us after being told to choose your own table. We had almost wondered if you needed to go to the counter to order. My husband could see the realization that no one had seen to us, and then everything from there after was wonderful. We both just ordered the chicken lunch box, and we were very impressed with the price and what came in it. The chicken teriyaki had nice crisp assortment of vegetables with it instead of just only cabbage and bean sprouts. It was a very complete lunch box which included ebi sunomono and gyoza. My husband calls them the best tempura he's ever had. It has spotless bathrooms and modern feel to the room. Nice addition to Langley. We will be going back. read more

This place is my go to in Langley! I've probably eaten here a couple dozen times since they've opened and every experience has been wonderful! Food: 5/5, everything is always so fresh and so yummy! I usually order the Veggie Trio, but on occasion have also ordered their edamame, agedashi tofu, yam fries and spring rolls (not all at once, mind you). Every dish was aaaaamazing! One of my dear friends swears by the calamari at this place... apparently the only place where she's had better is cactus club? The veggie tempura roll and veggie dragon roll are both recommended items for the vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Never tried their speciality drinks or desserts so I'm afraid I can't speak to it. Customer service: 5/5, the staff here is so kind and wonderful! They're great at reading body language and so often, I would need something and I wouldn't even need to wave them down cause they've already noticed and are on the move! Ambiance: 5/5, it's a modern set up for sushi and the restaurant could probably easily seat 30 or so customers? I didn't count so I can't be certain. There service was just aweful. The menu lists two chicken lunch box's, the waitress was not able to tell me what was what different between the two just saying one was better quality chicken. Wtf lol? I had to ask for my drink 3 times and my drink glass had wassabe in it. Decent sushi in the middle of the box store area in Langley. I was in the area and came in for dinner. Nice and clean with contemporary decor. The menu offers a variety of fresh and cooked items. No unusual/rare fishes, but they carry a good selection of staples. Prices per sushi piece are $2-$3 each and rolls start at $4 each. I had some salmon, red tuna and unagi sushi with negitoro and avocado rolls. Nicely presented and quite fresh. Came to just under $30 for me alone. read more

Ok, so upon trying Sushico again I can tell you this: * the rolls taste good * the portion of ebi sunomono was HUGE * my prawn still had a vein in it (that was really disappointing) * the rolls were very, very saucy (see my previous sushi restaurant reviews for my opinion on that) Overall it was good but not outstanding. Went at 6pm for dinner and was greeted and seated right away. It was a dinner rush so we knew anywhere you go any services would be a little slower. Unfortunately we sat for a good 25-30 mins without any acknowledgement, no water, no "sorry to keep you waiting" while other tables that was seat well after us got served. We just decided get up and leave and the people around us even commented how patient we were and couldn't believe they haven't come to our table. There was also another table next to us that also got up and left for the same reason, and they didn't wait as long as we did. This was our 2nd visit here and we'll most likely not come back.
