Volcano roll

We had a great first experience here! Service was quick from the start--drinks and appetizer came out fast and were delicious. Our food was also fresh and flavorful. I had the Forty Roll and my husband had the Volcano Roll--both were generous portions and so good we couldn't even finish everything. Our boys shared a chicken nugget meal, and our 6-year-old (who usually doesn't like nuggets) kept saying how much he loved them and how crispy they were. Our server, Miranda, was kind and attentive the whole time. Overall, a great dining experience.

Food and service was great. Didn't expect much because of the reviews but went for father's day and will definitely be going back.

The mariscos were fresh and delicious. Ordered the Botanera (pictured), shrimp tacos and the aguachiles. Excellent food and service. Recommended!

This place is perfect for those couples who like different types of seafood, my husband is more of a mariscos/ceviche and I like sushi rolls more. Only wish they had more fresh fish options. The rolls are good just rice heavy. We went on a Friday and they had live music. My husband loves the micheladas while I prefer their natural limeade. They waitresses are honest and tell you wants good on the menu, and what she doesn't. So I liked that!

It was my first time trying this place and as a sinaloense this place hit the spot! I didn't get our waiters name but he was very nice and was very helpful and fast. The ambiance is great! It really reminds me of being in Sinaloa with the loud music and vibe, especially eating some really good mariscos yum! If you don't like a really LOUD environment I would consider visiting during the weekdays before evening times to avoid it. I wanted something light so I ordered the levanta muertos which come with raw and cooked seafood, it's a bit on the pricey side but hey when is seafood cheap ;) I really want to come back to try the sushi and review on my next visit :)

Service is great! The sushi is unique and very filling! This was our 2nd visit and the beers were a little less than ice cold.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. We've visited their sister restaurant (Korean Chili) just a few storefronts away and they carry the same level of customer service. On our menu today we ordered the Jalapeño popper appetizer, bento box, and curry noodle. The Jalapeño inside the popper was fresh and luckily not too spicy. The tuna was well seasoned and the panko breading was crisp and not at all oily. They drizzled it with eel sauce and spicy mayo. Great starter! The bento box was a generous portion that included a side salad with sesame dressing. Tempura fried veggies and shrimp, which were perfectly cooked and had a crispy batter. Fried gyoza. Four pieces of California roll. And perfectly cooked chicken with teriyaki sauce on the side. The curry noodle was quite unexpected. The broth was rich with a subtle touch of heat and flavorful use of spices. The eggs were a nice addition of protein. The noodles and chicken were cooked well. Definitely a dish I'd order on a nice cold day. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We'd definitely return if visiting Tulare again.

No frills, no need for fancy showmanship such as dry ice facade to make their sushi look good. The freshness exudes greatly here. I especially would drive the hour or so to come here. The price is one of the cheapest in the area/valley. They don't skimp on the quality whatsoever. I love the sashimi and nigiri platters here. Always loaded with just goodness. One thing that I know for sure I haven't found anything closer that offers this kind of quality and service. Tulare is lucky to have a place like this. Pay them a visit. They are worth it.

All of the "sushi" rolls are different combos of cream cheese, rice, and meat. Hot Cheeto dust on a couple of them to boot. That's...not sushi. They are basically grilled shrimp tacos with cheese. The server was nice and accommodating, and I didn't have to wait long for any requests I did. Really appreciated that. The tacos themselves were delicious and pretty big -- I should've asked for three instead of four because they were bigger than your normal taco. They came with sautéed onions and green jalapeños on the side, plus a good green salsa. The salsa tasted fresh, which is a big deal; sometimes you can tell it's been sitting in the fridge a while, but not here. The tacos also had fresh avocado which I loved. As far as the restaurant itself, I went on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. The price was reasonable unlike other mexican restaurants on the same street which overcharge for mediocre food. What I'd change next time: more salsa and more limes. I wanted that extra kick so the flavors would mix into an even better bite. Still, the tacos were good, fresh, and enjoyable all around. Would definitely come again.
