Plain noodles no flavor I think they were cooked with water, tasted expired.

The place looks clean from the outside but the inside is not! The pictures in the menu are deceiving! The bathroom was dirty, the floors and they had rice cookers stored in the bathroom. The service was not the best either, there was only one waiter the other lady was just there and didn't even acknowledge me when I was trying to pay until a few minutes later. The food was also not good my plate was full of rice and only had a few pieces of chicken. My son ordered plain noodles and they were flavorless and tasted expired not sure what they were!!!

Came back to porterville to visit family. First thing we ate was Tokyo Bowl, missed the food so much.

Very good food, you wont leave hungry! I would recommend sharing the sukiyaki as its a big plate! Service was great even during their busy lunch hour! Bathroom is not all that easy to find nor is it the prettiest. Totally recommend

    Sukiyaki chicken

Stopped by Tokyo Bowl today for the first time to grab a late lunch to-go and am glad I did! Reading other reviews I was hesitant to try this place because of some negative comments regarding customer service. Today there were two employees at the register, both busy working on receipt stuff but I was greeted right away and asked if I was ordering or picking up. When one employee recognized I was indecisive she directed me to the menus with item descriptions which I appreciated! I ended up choosing the Sukiyaki chicken - a mix of white and dark meet cooked with onions, bell pepper, carrots, and zucchini topped with sesame seeds and a light teriyaki sauce over rice or noodles or a mix of both. The bowl + a soda was just under $13 which I think is reasonable considering this is tasty, restaurant quality food ready in a reasonable time PLUS I'll get at least 2 meals out of the portion. They have a call ahead option but I was able to order in person, leave to run some errands, and returned ~15 minutes later to my food being hot and ready!

Can you spot the $8.99 extra beef??? This is chicken sukiyaki +beef. Bay Area/ So Cal price $$$

Food: Beef & Chicken Sukiyaki with noodles Service: Fast and friendly, but not so informative So I'd like to start out with sayings dish was great and flavorful! The beef and chicken were cooked nicely, the veggies were not over cooked and still had a nice soft crunch (which i enjoy), the noodles cooked to perfection. The staff was great upon arrival and upon check out. The part that was a major disappointment for me was the following: When I placed my order- sukiyaki chicken I added beef. I've done this severallll times before. The waitress did say, "it'll be an extra charge. Is that okay?" I replied, "yes." However BIG HEADS UP!!!! The price to add meat was $8.99!!! It's always been a couple bucks. So, my $10 dish ended up being over $20 with tax. Please please get it together Tokyo Bowl!

Food: 5 The tonkotsu spicy and shoyu spicy ramens were delicious. Both came with a whole egg cut into two halves and two decent size chashu meat, along with your typical ramen veges. The noodle was cooked well and the portion was good. We also ordered the Hokkaido (baked) sushi roll which was very tasty, but I have to admit all the good looking ones with the best names are on the raw sushi side. Overall very satisfied with the food. Service: 5 The gentleman has great etiquette and service and assistes with recommendations as we were first timers here. He is a large part of the experience being amazing and quiet honestly an example of the standard for quality service. Overall a great experience and we woulddl definitely return. As somewhat of an anime fan I quite enjoyed seeing the names of some of the items on the menu and it really did entice me to order some of the raw sushi... if only I could fit it all in my stomach. Next time it is.

On my first visit I also got a basic tuna roll and it was delicious. Worth the price. I wish I could justify getting one every time I came here. So why are the four stars? This place is just so tiny. I'm a big dude. I actually fit it at the bar just fine. But it stresses me out thinking about having to be cramped into one of their tables. Maybe they'll move to a roomier location someday, but for now I'll deal with it. Food five stars all the way. My go-to ramen spot in the area.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. We've visited their sister restaurant (Korean Chili) just a few storefronts away and they carry the same level of customer service. On our menu today we ordered the Jalapeño popper appetizer, bento box, and curry noodle. The Jalapeño inside the popper was fresh and luckily not too spicy. The tuna was well seasoned and the panko breading was crisp and not at all oily. They drizzled it with eel sauce and spicy mayo. Great starter! The bento box was a generous portion that included a side salad with sesame dressing. Tempura fried veggies and shrimp, which were perfectly cooked and had a crispy batter. Fried gyoza. Four pieces of California roll. And perfectly cooked chicken with teriyaki sauce on the side. The curry noodle was quite unexpected. The broth was rich with a subtle touch of heat and flavorful use of spices. The eggs were a nice addition of protein. The noodles and chicken were cooked well. Definitely a dish I'd order on a nice cold day. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We'd definitely return if visiting Tulare again.
