    Squid salad - yummy!

From the time we walked to the time we walked out, all staff was friendly and pleasant. Our waitress, Nickie, was prompt, extremely polite, and made us feel very welcome. Food was great and plan on coming back.

Dinosaur Eggs (with Spicy Tuna) These are fantastic!

Upon arriving I was seated promptly and the waiters were attentive. The establishment was clean and the decor was typical of a sushi/hibachi restaurant. I ordered the spicy tuna dinosaur eggs which are a perfect lunch meal. The eggs are on the appetizer menu. The tuna is high in protein, the avocado has healthy fats and the dish as a whole shouldn't have much sugar, except for the sauce, which appears to be a spicy mayo and eel sauce. I decided to get the fried calamari as well. It was in a lightly fried tempura batter. It was accompanied by a sweet and sour sauce. The batter was soft and fluffy. I really enjoyed it. So, this wasn't my first time here. I have had the fried asparagus and tuna pizza off of the appetizer menu. The onion soup and house salad are good as well. As for rolls, I have had the Mexican, Rainbow, Red Dragon, Philly, LSU, spicy Girl, and Lobster Bomb, and have enjoyed them all. My wife doesn't eat anything raw, so she almost always gets the Pinke Lady, which is deep fried. My daughter doesn't eat seafood, so she will usually get chicken hibachi and she enjoys that. As of this review, and as far as I know, there isn't any other Japanese style restaurants around here. The closest thing is Houma or New Iberia.

Great sushi and hibachi. Nice atmosphere and location was great for a quick bite off the highway. The sushi was good and the lunch hibachi also.

I am a California native who was afraid of trying sushi or hibachi in a little town like Morgan city but I was pleasantly surprised with SushiRo. The chicken and steak were tender and seasoned well. The vegetables were full size and not overcooked. Lobster was also cooked perfectly. We also customized the Avalon Roll (not pictured) and it was made to perfection. All the seafood was fresh and cucumber was crisp. Waiter was also very attentive and the restaurant was clean neat and nicely decorated. The only area for improvement would be the dinner salad, it needs fresher green lettuce and make ginger dressing a little thicker. SushiRo was my hero

Been coming here for a few months to take advantage of great lunch specials while working in the area. Morgan city has some wonderful fried and boiled seafood but I get hungry for sushi as a healthier option and sushiRo fills that need. The service has always been excellent, the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, and the prices are very reasonable especially lunch special.

Went to grab a bite. Parking lot was about half full and there were plenty of empty tables. As we walked in, there was a group of disgruntled patrons who were upset because the hostess called guests who showed up significantly later than they did with an equal number of people. My wife and I asked to be seated and the hostess said it would be "15 minutes". I asked if we're really just 15 minutes due to the prelude that unfolded before us when we entered and the hostess said that he didn't know because he tells everyone that it will be 15 minutes. Disgusted with such a BS answer we left. Food is good but policy will prevent me from going back.

Food was good, but booth was terrible. Installed crooked!!! Was not impressed with wait staff. Had to get our own take away boxes.

Great sushi and bowls. Easy access and the owner often waits on you. Maybe not enough staff but he and the others working are great.

Everything is relative. For sushi in Louisiana this is pretty good. And the steak was amazing. We were happy.

There was a 2 inch strip of clear plastic inside of my crab rangoon. I don't intend on ever eating from this restaurant again.

Worth the drive. Food was on point and the service was excellent…read more Went for my Daughters 13th bday and had a vey pleasant experience. Fed 4 people with apps, soups, salads and specialty rolls. all sub a Benjamin. And we had togo boxes! They give fried wontons and sauce when you sit. Went through them faster than EL Taco shop chips and salsa. They were definitely a huge hit with everyone. We had a Bento Box that was filled with yummy tempura veggies and the specialty rolls were delicious. I had the Cowboy roll and they added masago (sp) and crunchies to it for me. The server overheard us talking about being her birthday and the owner brought out a plate of sweet treats for desert. Definitely worth coming back!

I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt multiple times as it's close and affordable…read more- but today's experience was awful. The sushi is 6/10. Not terrible. But not great either. Fish and other raw food is kept at room temperature which isn't always a welcoming notion. This was my fifth visit. Four of five visits had screaming infants and children's YouTube videos blaring in the background. NOT a restaurant for peace and quiet. When ordering a roll, I was offered the choice of soy or seaweed wrap. I opted for soy and my roll arrived a couple minutes later. The sushi itself wasn't bad, but again the bombardment of an infant screaming and YouTube programming really detracted from the experience. I'm uncertain as to why some parents believe their three month old would benefit from a raw fish experience. Unfortunately come time to pay, I noticed a little extra than advertised on my bill - an up charge for soy paper. Now small amounts aren't normally a big concern - provided the customer is notified of an upcharge fee when ordering. Not only was I not told, but it's not mentioned anywhere on the menu. When I inquired about it, my server was kind enough to take it off the bill. However, he then proceeded to argue that "generally people just should know that it costs more" and "nobody really says anything". Look - it's a matter of principle. The cost of doing business is what it is. But TELL people you're going to charge them extra. DON'T sneak it on to the bill and assume everyone knows. That's a shady nickel-and-diming tactic that will eventually get noticed. And don't try to defend it when you're caught red handed.
