The food is amazing for the price. I was kind of skeptical about ordering ramen here because it's a sushi place but I did anyways and it was probably one of the best ramens I've had. Service was also great.

SushiStop in Pasadena is a small spot, but the food is consistently delicious. It's our go-to place for affordable, tasty sushi with great service. My absolute favorites are the popcorn shrimp sushi, baked salmon, and baked scallop sushi--each plate comes with four pieces and is typically around $5-$6, which is an excellent value. I also love their blue crab hand roll. They add this incredible mayo-based sauce to their rolls that takes everything to the next level--it's seriously so good. Service is always friendly and efficient, and we usually get seated pretty quickly. Another big plus is their rewards program. If you come often like I do, it really adds up and makes it even more worth it. Since it's located in downtown Pasadena, parking is easy with nearby parking structures. My husband and I love this place, and it's hands down our favorite sushi spot in the area. Highly recommend.

Bought a lunch special $9.99 poke bowl to go and was surprised how big the bowl was! It was delicious and loved the fresh orchid flower! Will try other items in my next visits. The gurl who took my order was very nice u was happy to tip her. Inside seating looked nice clean and wasn't too busy on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Was in Old Town Pasadena and needed to get a quick lunch. Sushi Stop has some great lunch specials starting at $9.99 and from what I saw, the portion sizes were very good. I opted to get a nice big bowl of Ramen with the extra char sui and it did not disappoint. For the price there was a lot of wonderful, flavorful slices of pork. The ramen was good and hit the spot. Food was great. Brought my 4yr old to try sushi for her first time and she loved it! Her favorite was the shoyu ramen! Was a great value from lunch menu. Our waitress Michelle was very hospitable and helpful.

My server was Michelle, super cool server no fuss and gets me the order correct. Don't knock this place as they have FANTASTIC lunch prices. They have multiple locations and so far I've also been to the one of Sawtelle. They have consistency from location to location.

This is a typical Americanized Japanese place. DECOR was nice. Nice sit down place. We arrived at 11:45 and there were not a lot of people but was 90% full when we left around 12:30. FOOD the $9.99 lunch special has a nice variety and generous portion. It's a total steal with today's inflation. We were worried that it's be small but all dishes came out of decent sizes. The original poke was slightly odd with tomato and avocado added but otherwise taste fine. We rate it 3/5. Spicy poke was fairly spicy. We'd rate it 5/5. The chicken udon was kinda salty which we had to add water, but taste was good. No veggies though. 3.5/5 after water added. We noticed there were lots of take out orders but also plenty of people here alone on their lunch break. SERVICE was great. All the servers are super friendly very efficient. You are acknowledged right away. Advertised about lunch specials and they work together as a team and always paid attention to see if you needed something. Overall this is a good place if craving for a hearty affordable Americanized Japanese food. Not sure that's I'd drive all the way here just for this, but won't mind if in the area.

Every time I'm in the area, I have to make a stop here. The sushi is always fresh and reasonably priced. My go-to orders include the truffle salmon and the baked salmon roll. Service is always great and I love the casual vibes. A must try when in Pasadena!

    Sandy P.

They have a decent amount of options on their menu. Really liked their baked rolls and their salmon carpaccio. Service is quick and the restaurant is on the smaller size.

Sushistop has the logo based off the iconic GameStop without any of the trauma that GameStop caused me of coming in with hopes and dreams only to be crushed by an overweight gamer telling me my games are worth a few cents. Instead I get amazing sushi in the heart of the main strip of Pasadena with super good sushi and homey vibes from welcoming waiters. Also I was lucky enough to play their beer dice game where the gambler in me came out and I rolled double 6's for some .99 beer. Whether you love a cold Japanese beer or just good sushi in a great spot this place has it covered. If you guys get lucky enough to have, Devin or Jocelyn to serve you be nice and let them know you came there from a Yelp and they will take good care of you.

The service was excellent, food even better! All in all I'm beyond satisfied with the establishment :)

Multiple sushi items, I was not impressed by any in particular.

Firstly.. the couch seating along the wall had lots of tears..I had to choose carefully where to place my bum The food tasted far from fresh. The tuna roll in particular left an unpleasant aftertaste. Ambiance: music was too loud for my liking. Service: very friendly - which I appreciated despite the food.

The first time was for their 13th anniversary tuna bowl special and it was honestly one of the best tuna bowls I've had in a while. The restaurant has both an indoor dining area and outdoor patio, so it felt relatively spacious. The ambiance leans more on the upscale side. I would recommend parking at the Delacey parking structure for reliable and affordable parking (it's around an 8 minute walk). There was about a 10-20 minute wait after we arrived and the staff was very attentive throughout the entire experience. 1. Tuna Bowl: Their once a year anniversary special ($13 for their 13th anniversary), and this might've been my favorite dish I've had here. The cuts of tuna were incredibly fresh. The toro was thick-cut with a melt in your mouth texture. The sushi rice was also cooked and seasoned perfectly, which added a really nice touch to the dish. I would order this any time if it were on the regular menu! 2. Sushi lunch set with negitoro hand roll and miso soup: A solid lunch set with a variety of sushi that was all very fresh. Loved the negitoro hand roll as well! 3. Salmon & Ikura Don: Got this as part of their $18 lunch special for June 2026, which came with miso soup on the side. The salmon and ikura were very fresh and paired perfectly with the sushi rice. Would definitely come back again to try their other dishes!

Luckily they have a waitlist system where you can track your spot in line, so we just walked around Pasadena and did some shopping while we waited. Once seated, we had a table and were taken care of by Diane, who I believe was the manager. She was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of despite how busy the restaurant was. To be honest, all of the staff were great. The servers and hostesses were friendly, professional, and kept things running smoothly. As for the food, Sugarfish continues to be one of my favorite sushi spots for the price. The rice is always cooked perfectly and the fish is consistently fresh and melts in your mouth. This time I tried the yellowtail sashimi with lemon and it was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend and I usually order the Nozawa Trust Me and the "Don't Think. Just Eat." Since it's just the two of us, we split both meals so we get to try a bigger variety of fish. Some of my favorites are still the scallops and the anago. Those two never disappoint. Overall, another great meal. The long wait is probably the biggest downside, but once you're sitting down and eating, it's easy to remember why this place is always so busy.

I had planned to be phone-free for the hour, but curiosity bested me and I whipped out my phone for a scan. The bulgogi with rice and miso called to me, strangely, considering the heat outside. The atmosphere at this slow hour was so nice I almost wished it was raining. A few Clairo and The Marías songs later (at the perfect volume--audible, but still low enough to have a quiet chat) my miso soup arrived. Now, it's been a good few years since I've had miso soup, and I've never really been crazy about it, but this... this was some damn good soup. Liquid umami. Then the bulgogi and rice came. This is the best bulgogi I've ever had. So tender. Quite literally melted in my mouth. Punches of savory juice, tender fatty bits, golden brown perfectly caramelized onions, and a sweetness to bring it all together. Every bite was perfect. It washed over me and my shoulders and spine practically uncoiled themselves. I want to try more from the menu but... I'm... I'm going to need this again. Like tomorrow. I should say, especially for the price, this is a lot o' grub. A perfect filling portion, especially with the rice and soup. I had a smoothie a couple hours earlier so I really should've asked for a to-go box 80% of the way through... but I was just having too much fun stuffing my face to stop. To recap--lovely service, great music, and food to live for. And a restroom. It's not public, but they do have a restroom. Thank god for that restroom. I was hungry, yes, but more than anything I really needed that restroom.

My partner and I shared the rainbow roll, mango cha cha roll, lemon salmon roll, salmon bento box, and cheese bulgogi. I really enjoyed the creative specialty sushi rolls, with my favorite roll being the mango cha cha roll. It tasted savory from the crispy shrimp tempura, while the fresh mango on top added a nice, refreshing pop of sweetness. As for the lemon salmon roll, it tasted fresh and more citrus-forward. Surprisingly, the salmon bento box was very filling and balanced. This included 2 pieces of grilled teriyaki salmon, 4 pieces of California roll, mixed tempura, miso soup, and a small salad with dressing. For anyone who does not eat raw fish, this would be the perfect dish. For the cheese bulgogi, there was a sweet-savory soy garlic flavor. I liked that the meat was thinly sliced, which paired perfectly with the gooey melted cheese. However, it was a bit saltier than I'd like it to be. Some rice and miso soup was served alongside this to balance out the richness from the cheese. Service could have been better. It seems that the staff were not very attentive at times, even though the place was not busy. Nonetheless, all of the food was pretty good and there was a chill atmosphere. This is a solid sushi bar to visit for either lunch or dinner.

The fish here is incredibly fresh, but can we talk about the rice? Because that's what truly makes or breaks sushi. Seriously, they're long enough that you could easily share one between two people. * Lemon Roll: Absolutely awesome and so refreshing. * Yellowtail Hand Roll: Fantastic quality. * Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice: A total must-try. We ordered multiple nigiris, rolls, and appetizers for our table. The servers and staff seemed to not communicate with each other, leading to slow and sloppy service. The nigiris came out much later than the rolls and the bowls, to the point where half of our party was done eating before the first nigiri plate came out. In fact, the service was so slow that the servers started to clear our plates while we were waiting for them to bring out our food The servers were awkwardly clashing plates at our table and being difficult about refilling the water and tea. After dropping $800+ as a table, we were waiting on one last nigiri (Yellowtail Belly) to come out. We asked our waiter to check on it for us, and he came back to us saying it should have been on the plate that had the other Yellowtail Nigiri on it. The reason why we brought this up in the first place is because the two didn't come out together. He then brings another waitress who tells us it should have come out already, and then another who tells us completely different information (i.e. it came out with different fish). Overall an unpleasant experience. Would not be back again nor would I recommend this place to anyone, especially since they made such a big deal out of $10 nigiri on a $800 bill.

The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Large tables in the back and small tables were closer to the front. Bar seats on the side. It was a medium-sized restaurant, but the layout made it feel larger. Clean bathroom too. PARKING The closest and most logical parking spot was the one right across from the restaurant. School House Garage on 33 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91105. Rates: $1.00 first 2 hrs, $2.00 for each additional hour. $12 for the full day. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.
