This place is worth your buck !!! The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Feels like the customers were mainly locals. The fish to rice ratio was insane. We ordered just a few things to try. The hamachi collar was super yummy. I would order it again. Shrimp tempura roll was very good. Not overly saucy and very filling. The yellow tail that came in the sushi combo A was the star of the show. I would order the yellow tail without any hesitation over and over again. The tuna was equally as delicious. I'm not one for salmon or the other options but my boyfriend says they were equally as good. The toro: super fatty. Solid portion we would order it again. We'll be back. The staff in this place is so kind, polite, and just lovely. I live down the street and have such a great experience every time I walk in. I haven't dined in yet, though on my list to do just because the positives vibes this amazing restaurant has. As for food, 10 of 10 recommend. Orders are always correct. We're ordering different things all the time and I've yet to dislike a single thing. The sushi is soooooooo yummy. For door dash, they sort the food by the group order. My daughter's name is Lotus and they always draw a flower on the top. It's little details like this that tell me the people preparing this food care about it and the customers they serve. Stumbled in on a Wednesday in the early evening, and had plenty of open seating to choose from. Immediately, I was cheerfully greeted and seated by one the servers, and then given two menus--a traditional folding menu with a padded backing I can really only describe as "satisfyingly textured," and a beautiful 3x8 wooden slab engraved with a QR code for the picture menu. I had planned to be phone-free for the hour, but curiosity bested me and I whipped out my phone for a scan. The bulgogi with rice and miso called to me, strangely, considering the heat outside. The atmosphere at this slow hour was so nice I almost wished it was raining. A few Clairo and The Marías songs later (at the perfect volume--audible, but still low enough to have a quiet chat) my miso soup arrived. Now, it's been a good few years since I've had miso soup, and I've never really been crazy about it, but this... this was some damn good soup. Liquid umami. Then the bulgogi and rice came. This is the best bulgogi I've ever had. So tender. Quite literally melted in my mouth. Punches of savory juice, tender fatty bits, golden brown perfectly caramelized onions, and a sweetness to bring it all together. Every bite was perfect. It washed over me and my shoulders and spine practically uncoiled themselves. I want to try more from the menu but... I'm... I'm going to need this again. Like tomorrow. I should say, especially for the price, this is a lot o' grub. A perfect filling portion, especially with the rice and soup. I had a smoothie a couple hours earlier so I really should've asked for a to-go box 80% of the way through... but I was just having too much fun stuffing my face to stop. My partner and I shared the rainbow roll, mango cha cha roll, lemon salmon roll, salmon bento box, and cheese bulgogi. I really enjoyed the creative specialty sushi rolls, with my favorite roll being the mango cha cha roll. It tasted savory from the crispy shrimp tempura, while the fresh mango on top added a nice, refreshing pop of sweetness. As for the lemon salmon roll, it tasted fresh and more citrus-forward. Surprisingly, the salmon bento box was very filling and balanced. This included 2 pieces of grilled teriyaki salmon, 4 pieces of California roll, mixed tempura, miso soup, and a small salad with dressing. For anyone who does not eat raw fish, this would be the perfect dish. For the cheese bulgogi, there was a sweet-savory soy garlic flavor. Tried this spot with my partner on a weekend date and first impressions is that this place is quite clean. Upon entering, there's seating both on the left and the right side. There's counter seating, group tables, and MISC tables as well. There's a waitlist on Yelp to join so plan ahead if the restaurant is busy. Parking here in Pasadena can be a bit tough but not near Sushigah. Next to it is a huge indoor parking lot where it's only $1 per 2 hours, very much worth it. The menu here is very extensive, ranging from sushi rolls, sushi, ramen, udon, standard sushi apps, bento boxes, etc. Our orders were taken pretty quick, service I'd say was around a 7/10. We were checked on a couple times but seem like the staff weren't fully paying attention as I asked for some extra utensils and my partner asked for the other dishes that our order comes with but they were all forgotten, requiring a 2nd request before receiving our items. Other than that, service was pretty good. It was great that the staff was friendly and quick. -- WHAT WE ORDERED -- Cheese Bulgogi ($25) Rainbow Roll ($18) Mango Cha Cha Roll ($20) Lemon Salmon Roll ($19) Salmon Bento Box ($21) Out of all the rolls, the Mango Cha Cha is the standout. This is one of the best sushi experiences I've had in a while and at a price point that is affordable, just makes me love this place even more. I feel like this place is giving quality well above their price point and I think it's just amazing. I came here about an hour before they close on a Wednesday evening, and I was greeted with extremely pleasant restaurant staff they were extremely accommodating to a special request that I made and they exceeded expectations on all fronts. Tasty Sushi! I was on my own due to some odd circumstances, so I decided to grab lunch at SushiGah. I looked at the menu and ordered two rolls - the 911 Roll which was spicy, and the Lemon Salmon Roll which was spicy and tasty. The rolls came out promptly along with the 355 ml (12 ounce) bottle of Coke I ordered for lunch. The rolls were served with a good amount of Wasabi and ginger. The server was quite polite and helpful. You can see the photo of the mural and the prep area, which offer classic Japanese Sushi ambiance. The rolls I ordered were quite tasty and filling. Sushiya has been on my radar for quite sometime. In seeing the reviews and asking around, there have been so many positive experiences that I had to take time to visit. So, on a Sunday after church, I had an errand to run in the area, and I decided to visit. Ambiance: Tucked on the corner of Raymond Ave and Green St. it is easy to dismiss Sushiya entirely. But, the small space makes this place feel so much like home. The sushi bar was super clean and I had a clear view of the fish and chefs as they crafted roll and nigiri alike. The staff were warm and friendly which added to the vibe. Food: Being in a new sushi restaurant, I tend to order the same thing all the time. In this case was Salmon and Yellowtail Nigiri and a Shrimp Tempura Roll. But in this case, I wanted to splurge a bit and got a Miso Soup and side Sapporo as well. The miso soup is always nostalgic but nothing super different than what is normally served at other restaurants. But the star, the sushi, was indeed something to talk about. The cut of fish was indeed thicker than others and there is no question on the freshness of the fish as well. No smell and clean after taste, I took extra time to really relish it. The sushi rice tasted fresh and you can tell that there is great pride to the plating of the sushi and roll. The Shrimp Tempura roll, had that oh so satisfying crunch signaling not only was the tempura fresh from the frier, but the moisture of the rice didn't soak into the shrimp. We both had udon, which was delicious, the broth was light but flavorful and not overly salty. We ordered several rolls, including an eel with avocado (yummy), Gangnam roll (also yummy), and a dragon roll (delicious). The fish was excellent and the ingredients were fresh. There was one chef preparing all of the sushi, and between the eat in customers and take out orders, he was busy! But we didn't have to wait long for our food, and even if we had, it would have been worth it. We got a couple of sushi bento boxes to go for our kiddos, and they were quickly devoured, so this place gets their seal of approval as well. Highly recommended this place. As I sit at the sushi bar, the experience is less than hoped for given the overall rating. The impression is they're having issues keeping up. It's moderately busy at the tables with a lunch crowd, but not at the bar so much and the setting three chairs down the counter where a couple guys were sitting hasn't been bussed; it's been at least 40-45 minutes as I write this. Ordered a saki, which typically would arrive in fairly short order, but it took 20 minutes, anyway, perhaps more. I had reminded the young server, thinking he had forgotten, and was told there was a lot going on in the kitchen. The yellowtail roll came out fast enough, handed down by the chef. It was only okay, though. Seemed fresh, but nothing great. Got the California roll afterward because I was still hungry after finishing the yellowtail and needed something to go with the house saki. The saki is a bit bigger than what another sushi bar would typically serve for the same price, so that's a plus. The California roll is quite good, but, again, took quite awhile to be served. Prices are very fair though entrees will be in the $30 range, so not exactly cheap. It's market, basically. The bento boxes look like the thing to get here. The place is clearly popular, so perhaps my experience is not the norm. Hope that's the case because it's a pleasant environment. Finally, as finishing up the California roll, the space at the bar three chairs down got cleaned up...and some other customer just complimented the staff on their meal. We popped in here after a concert at the Rose Bowl parade and luckily they don't close until 1. We're so glad that we came in here and had sushi because it was really good. My wife and I ordered a few different rolls and they were super fresh and satisfied our cravings for the late night meal. I visited Sushigah once and decided I will not be returning. For a meal that cost over $100, the experience was subpar and lacked the professionalism I expected at this price point. The seating area is very small, which made it even more uncomfortable when the staff spent a significant amount of time attending to a homeless individual and ultimately seated them right next to me with all their bags. Between the poor service and the underwhelming food quality, the experience lacked any sense of a good dining experience. It was a very disappointing and not worth the premium price. read more

There are a lot of stores and other activities you could do in the area. But it's metered street parking, even on Sundays. The place itself is small and cozy, but the windows and white walls brighten up the restaurant to make it seem more spacious. The biggest table they have can sit 6 people. Most tables sit 4, and a few 2. They also have counter seating. The host is wonderful and polite! I love how they give you a wooden thing with a QR code that leads you to a digital menu. It has pictures of each item on the menu. It was really helpful for me since I usually look up how each item looks anyway, lol.
