Good food. Good service, food is always fast getting to table. Been multiple times, would like to see this place fill up on Friday nights.

I ate here. Food was good. Will come back. Iced tea was a 9.2 out of 10. Sushi was reasonably priced.

Food was good and the service was quick, and a cute little place, wasn't a lot of people but it was still a good experience

The food was mediocre and overpriced. Great atmosphere and the staff were nice. I would try again.

    - Large portions - Very busy but food comes out relatively…read more"quick" in about 20 minutes - Lots of seating and tables - Very hot inside which makes it a bit uncomfy - Neighbor chicken is flavorful, juicy, gigantic. 10/10 - Spicy walnut shrimp is yummy but more similar to sweet chili sauce than walnut - Veggies are nice and tangy to counter the rich flavors. Rice could be softer - Crab rangoon egg roll is more of a Baltimore crab egg roll rather than crab rangoon - no cream cheese taste and seasoned with old bay. Tastes best without sauce given

If you've visited Baltimore and haven't yet been to Ekiben, this is your sign to make your way…read moretoday! Ekiben is the definition of unique flavors & a depth of culture. Their menu is a fusion of Asian & Ethiopian cuisine, an unexpected yet insanely good combination! With locations in 3 staple areas of Baltimore city, you'll experience not only great food but also the opportunity to explore all the sweet gems Baltimore has to offer. My top 3 picks from the menu which are a must when you visit are: ramen broccoli (perfect cooked in tempura batter seasoned with a "tangy" blend of spices); Red beans & Rice (vegan friendly dish of cooked lentils over rice topped w/ a fresh tomato & onion blend); & of course the shrimp (really any of them because you can't go wrong). Ekiben is definitely a staple and somewhere that warrants frequent visits. I highly recommend!

SU ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, her "go-to" and every Asian restaurant, and compares each one to China Garden's version. Her verdict: Modern Asia's was "OK", and she told me I could eat the leftovers for my lunch. I did. My verdict was the same: OK, but nothing to write home to Mother about. (My comparison, BTW, is to a restaurant we enjoyed in Ithaca New York that made Kung Pao with peppers that would flay your face from the inside if you dared to eat one. Modern Asia's didn't even tickle, making it a let down). I ordered Seafood Combination Chinese Yellow Curry, a new dish for me. It was yummy. Described as one-pepper spicy on the menu, it had less heat than the Kung Pao, but the curry sauce had layers of flavor. It featured shrimp, scallops, and calmari plus a wonderful mix of peppers, onions, and other veg. All were nicely (crisply) cooked, even taking into account the Door Dash delivery time. I really enjoyed it. Next time I may ask for a bit more heat, but as it is, I hoovered up every morsel. Try it - you'll like it!

Service was quick and friendly. My wife ordered Crab Rangoon as a starter and I had an eggroll. The Crab Rangoon was delicious. All made in house. The eggroll was good and the asked for extra horseradish mustard was outstanding. For our main meals, my wife had the General Tso. It was good, but not much spice. Waitress later informed we can always ask for it to be spicier as they get too many that say it is too spicey if they spice it to their liking. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken. It was delicious. Informed that they marinade the chicken in the sauce overnight for the next day. Again, delicious. Portions were very generous. Prices were very reasonable. Don't worry about getting a smaller portion on the Combo Meal menu. It is still a large portion. Both my wife and I had to ask for boxes to bring home our leftovers. All in all, a very nice dinner experience and we will definitely return again.

Really disappointing. After adding a nice dose of our our own soy and/or hoisin sauce, it was palatable enough to fill our bellies, but no one was happy about it. Do you know how disappointing it is to not be excited for your Chinese food leftovers the next day? Unfortunately, most of them made it to the trash. Insert sad face emoji. For reference, the dishes we orders were: -Beef Lo Mein -General Tso's chicken -Shrimp Lo Mein -various rices, various egg rolls The staff were also not very friendly. I ordered this as takeout and when I entered the restaurant there were two tables of people dining in. It was a small joint, but not packed, by any means. I waited almost five minutes before being acknowledged by anyone, and then it kind of just felt like I was an inconvenience. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think we have a reason to try again.
