I really wanted to love this place, but my experience was just okay. I may have chosen the wrong…read morerolls, so take this with a grain of salt. I ordered a jalapeño cream cheese roll that unfortunately was completely overpowered by onions -- it drowned out the other flavors. I also tried a roll with a wasabi honey sauce that just didn't work for me at all; the sweetness and wasabi combination tasted off and kind of unpleasant. The other rolls weren't bad, but they felt like they were missing some texture -- a bit of crunch would have made a big difference. That said, the ingredients seemed fresh and the presentation was nice. I'd consider giving it another try and ordering differently next time.

Parking is plentiful, and it does get very busy on the weekends. You can make reservations for larger groups (over 5 people, I think). Definitely give this place a try, if in the area! If you're not in the mood for a lot of food, you can also just order off the menu...you will still get very generous portions!

Crazy Boy Roll - this was a really good fried roll, lots of flavor and would order it again! Overall great experience. I came in between the lunch and dinner rush so it was pretty empty and the food came out quickly. The server was friendly and helpful.

Two of our three dishes were done and plated right away, and then we watched them fill about five other orders before our third dish was cooked, so by the time we got our food, one bowl was steaming and two were lukewarm. I regretted saying "in person" pretty much the moment I said it, but we were also about 30 minutes from home and wanted to eat before our food got cold--now I know that it would have been cold either way, and we would have been better off going straight home and eating a bowl of cereal.

On July 20, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Sushiya with Chef Vincent's Omakase. It was our first time back at the sushi bar since covid, but worth waiting for. The selections he made for us were all so excellent I would be hard pressed to name a favorite. We first had Ankimo, specially prepared monkfish liver served with momiji oroshi and a delicious ponzu sauce. The flavor is amazing and it just melts in your mouth. There was Uni - such a creamy, delicate flavor and Hamachi, the fatty cut of Yellowtail, so rich and delicious. Then we had Amaebi, sweet shrimp from deep Northern waters, eaten raw, not steamed, with a wonderful, rich flavor. Among other delicious courses were Wagyu, lightly seared to bring out the exceptionally rich flavor and scallops in a rich and tasty sauce. There was Ika, julienned and seasoned served as nigiri. I also cannot forget the long tray of finely sliced and seasoned Conch and the wonderful finale, a cooked fish dish with finely sliced ginger in a delicious sauce which Vincent told us was a specialty of his home town. So good! Overall the evening was very special, the food was all amazing and it was great to be seated at the Sushi bar again. Thanks to the friendly, young patron, I think Cody, who gifted us with a nice bottle of sake and the unexpected pleasure of visiting with Vincent's wonderful family. Amazing service from the most excited staff I've ever seen. If you can, sit right where the sushi is made. The guy that made our food looked like he loved his job, constantly smiling and talking in an upbeat fashion. This was my wife's first experience with raw fish sushi, and she is now a huge fan. We have been there so many times! I am Japanese from Japan. I think this is THE BEST SUSHI restaurant around here. I tried many things and everything was good.
