In June 2026, I underwent a bilateral mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction as well as a salpingo-oophorectomy, all during a single surgery. Dr. Tanna worked in close coordination with Dr. Susan Palleschi and Dr. Jill Whyte to make this possible, and the level of planning, precision, and choreography required to bring multiple surgical specialties together so seamlessly was truly extraordinary. From the beginning, I was struck not only by Dr. Tanna's expertise, but by his willingness to put my needs at the center of the surgical plan. Coordinating all of these procedures into one operation undoubtedly added complexity for him and the entire surgical team. Yet doing so spared me additional surgeries, hospitalizations, and recoveries. That willingness to take on additional complexity because it was ultimately better for me speaks volumes about Dr. Tanna--not only about his skill as a surgeon, but about his compassion and commitment to his patients. Dr. Tanna is a surgeon of tremendous skill. My surgery went remarkably well, and my recovery has exceeded my expectations. I am extremely pleased with the results of my reconstruction, particularly given the complexity and extent of the surgery. I recognize that an outcome like mine is not simply good fortune. It reflects technical mastery, meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful preparation, and years of experience performing highly complex reconstructive surgery. Just as important, Dr. Tanna brings compassion and humanity to that expertise. When you are facing cancer and a surgery of this magnitude, you place an enormous amount of trust in your physicians. I never took that trust lightly, and neither did he. Throughout the process, I felt completely confident in his care and knew that my recovery, well-being, and quality of life genuinely mattered. I am also deeply grateful to Drs. Palleschi and Whyte and to every member of the surgical and Glen Cove Hospital teams who contributed to my care. The coordination among them was seamless, and I remain incredibly appreciative of what they collectively did for me. On January 22, 2016 I found myself in the scariest situation I have ever been in personally. An injury occurred at work that landed me in the Emergency Room in a panic. I was seen by an on call doctor who suggested I wait for Dr. Sasson to evaluate my injury. I was hit on my face while working and a swelling began that was considerable and painful. The second Dr. Sasson saw me he made me feel safe and secure. I have never had an injury like this and with both my parents deceased I was very upset and overwhelmed. He pulled me aside into a side room and worked on a procedure to reduce my swelling. He provided me with strict instructions as I left the hospital. I quickly searched Dr. Sasson's education background and reviews online and like my experience there was nothing undesirable to say. Unfortunately, my injury enlarged again overnight and I went back to the Emergency room in the morning. I was scared to death with the thought of surgery and asked my nurse to please call my Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Sasson was called in through a blizzard and sat next to me and explained what he was going to do and that I would not feel a thing. His bedside manners were more than I could have ever asked for as well as his prompt reaction to my situation. I never felt rushed into anything and really learned about what was going on before any steps were taken. Follow up visits at his office have also been wonderful. He truly cares about every patient and their needs. He is cautious and concerned with my feelings and shares his opinions up front. His staff is delightful and well organized, you never feel rushed or forgotten about through an appointment. The financing representative there quoted me 10K!!! obscene. I think he did a poor job on my breast augmentation and I paid a hefty price not to be happy. 1 Star 11 months…read morepost-op Before moving forward with Dr. Alizadeh's "NaturaBra" Breast Lift and fat grafting, I strongly encourage others to do thorough research. I underwent this procedure nearly one year ago with the understanding that it was long-lasting, provided excellent results, and had a 20-year track record. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Shortly after surgery, I noticed a reduction in breast volume. At every post-op visit, I voiced my concerns and asked about the possibility of additional fat grafting. I was consistently told that additional grafting could be done if necessary. However, by my 6-month follow-up, my breasts had significantly deflated to a small B cup--I had originally been a D/DD. I was told to expect a full C cup, which clearly did not happen. When I expressed how unhappy I was with the result, Dr. Alizadeh showed no empathy and responded, "There is nothing I can do." He then told me I didn't have enough fat for additional grafting--something he never mentioned during the previous six months. I left that appointment in tears, feeling completely dismissed and unheard. Out of distress, I consulted with several other experienced and compassionate plastic surgeons. Here's what I learned: Too much breast tissue was removed--comparable to a breast reduction. Fat grafting results are not long-lasting--only 30-50% of the fat survives at best, and additional sessions are often necessary. My nipple-to-breast fold measurement is too long and needs correction. My vertical scars are raised and red, requiring laser treatments. I now need a breast revision surgery to restore size and symmetry. The revision will include: Breast implants to restore volume Galaflex internal bra for support Skin removal from the lower poles for proportion Laser scar treatment I now wear padded bras and feel extremely uncomfortable in my body. This experience has affected me emotionally, physically, and financially--and will require more time away from my business for corrective surgery. I was unfamiliar with fat grafting at the time and trusted Dr. Alizadeh's reassurance that his technique was different and long-lasting. He did not fully disclose the limitations and risks of fat grafting or the potential complications from a breast lift. When issues arose, he did not take responsibility and showed no interest in helping resolve them. My advice: Get multiple opinions from board-certified plastic surgeons. Ask direct questions like: "What happens if I'm not satisfied?" Be cautious of anyone who promises long-term results without full transparency. This was the most disappointing medical experience I've ever had. It's devastating to feel like a doctor turned his back on me instead of standing by his work. -- Christine
