I've since discussed this with the staff. Review: My experiences at Sutra Dental Spa have all been fantastic. My first time at sutra dental spa, I had my teeth whitened. After one treatment, the brown teeth I once had were a beautiful natural white. During the treatment, I got to watch a movie which made the time pass quite quickly. Overall, the experience was very comfortable, quick, and painless. Given the positive experience I had the first time, I decided to return to have my front tooth fixed. As a kid, I chipped my front tooth in a bicycle accident. At the time, my dentist layered some tooth-appearing material over the chipped area. As I became older, the tooth became distored and it was frankly an eye-soar. I saw Dr. Wu and he created a new crown to replace this tooth. Dr. Wu was extremely gentle and he gave me such an excellent anesthetic block that I felt no pain during the procedure. Within two hours, I was in and out with a brand new tooth. I been going to Dr Wu for over 9 years and have received excellent service from him and his staff. I've had numerous services from cleanings, crowns, whitening, etc. All with no problems. I've broken a few crowns and Dr Wu and his team has always made immediate appts to bring me in a fix them. Dr Wu has even worked around my insurance company short fallings. I've changed insurance companies and Dr Wu has worked with me to ensure we understand the coverage limitations by the insurance company and has even offered a few times to help cover the gaps. The office is really cool and relaxing. I've received free massages during several of my crowns and cleaning. So Cool! Dr Wu always invests in the latest technologies to ensure you get all the information you need to make decisions on the health of your teeth. He's never pressured me or my wife (Yes my wife has been a patient for as long as I have) into a service or exam that we didn't want. He provideshis recommendation but leaves the decision upto us. We feel very comfortable with him and that's why even though he may be out of my insurance company's network we still go to his office. Totally recommend Dr Wu to anyone. read more

The moment I walked into Sutra, my nervous butterflies about going to the dentist melted away. From calming waterfall fountains and soft soothing music, to the option of requesting a masseuse or watching a movie in cool hi-tech glasses... this was unlike any dentist visit I have experienced. I have always been greeted with a smile by the friendly woman up front, Katherina. She never fails to ask how I am that day and if I'd like a beverage while I wait to be called in. She's also handled my financial and insurance part of the visit. She's always explained everything thoroughly and in terms that I understand. The rest of the staff I've met have always been very friendly and welcoming as well. Dr. Wu is awesome. He is extremely personable, professional and communicative. He is very gentle and has always made a point to periodically ask if I am doing ok while working on my teeth. Most importantly, I have always been 100% satisfied with Dr. Wu's excellent dental work and his interest in helping me acheive the smile I want. read more

I've been going to Dr. Wu for six years now and have received excellent dental care during my entire time as a patient. The staff have always been extremely friendly and accommodating when it comes to scheduling, filling out paper work, and dealing with insurance. The office is very zen-like with music, waterfalls, and even a masseuse!! Although very zen-like, it also boasts some killer state of the art pieces of equipment that really help in the dental care arena (his CNC machines are really cool and produce a product in a matter of minutes vs. days or weeks...think crowns). Dr. Wu also does some really cool things for the community like Pro Bono work for students at the local high school. That doesn't seem like a big deal to most people that have reliable dental care but when you're in pain with your teeth and can't afford the care your life is hellish. Anyway, Dr. Wu (and his staff) has been a great dentist for the past six years and I look forward to being with Sutra Dental Spa for years to come. read more

I have been going to Sutra Dental Spa for many years (six years maybe more). It is by far the best dental office I have visited, and I've been to many. I don't dread going to the dentist any more. The setting is relaxing, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the dental work I've had done has been excellent. Before seeing Dr. Wu, I associated dental work with pain. Dr. Wu however, has been super conscious of my sense of comfort. He is amazing when it comes to administering the needed anesthetic, and during any procedure, he continually checks to ensure I'm ok. For the past year or longer I've only needed to visit Sutra Dental Spa for my regular cleanings as all issues (cavities, old fillings, cracked crowns) have been addressed. The hygienists are also very thorough and friendly. Dr. Wu always does a final check during cleaning visits as a preventive measure. My veneers look so amazing!!! So happy and feeling so much more confident :0) Thank you, for the life changing experience. I had tooth colored fillings on my front teeth that kept staining or even worse breaking off!!! It took awhile before I could afford the veneers and also be mentally prepared. I feel like this really was a life changing experience. My front teeth looked "dirty" at times due the staining fillings. I can't thank the office enough for their compassionate and understanding treatment. I had nitrous and Bernadette gave me a wonderful massage. This review is the most emotional for me. I have been going for years. Back to the old office. I find it to be very relaxing and a comfortable experience. They have worked with me for my flex benefits as well as informing me what things are necessary and what cosmetic options i have. But i remain in control. Staff is always pleasant, Dr. makes a point of saying hello even if i am only in for a cleaning. My wife goes also and they have worked with us as insurances have switched. This is not the Dentist office of your youth, this uses technology advances to make you more comfortable and have a healthier smile. read more

The only con I have is that I live in Anaheim. I used to live in La Mesa. I've been with Dr. Wu since 1999. He transformed my perception of dentistry. Best of all, he made me smile again. I'm not real big on the internet, but my daughter was online, so I decided to give me input. I had the best dentist appointment ever!!!! A massage while you are getting dental work??? Really? Wow. I also got to watch a movie with special glasses during the whole procedure. Wow, this an awesome dental office! It was really relaxing. The staff was really nice. I was so impressed. The office manager was very friendly and did all the research on my insurance for me. She was very knowledgeable about all of my insurance info, and had it ready for me when I came in. Dr Wu is really great at giving anesthetic. I felt NOTHING. Best dental visit ever! I have been here before and always declined the massage and the warm neck pillows, but my dad recently passed and I figured, what the heck, I need to relax. Best decision EVER! The dental assistant gave me a blind fold and as Dr.Wu installed a crown, I practically dozed off. They also have a massage chair. Definitely get your moneys woth. I am one of those people who is a nervous wreck about going anywhere near a dentist. No longer is that a problem. The atmosphere and the people who work there put you so at ease you would think you were going to an art show or maybe an ice cream social. Dr. Wu is the best! I went to 4 different dentists that wanted to pull all of my teeth except 4 and put me in dentures. Dr. Wu used his expertise to save all of my teeth and he game me back the confidence I needed with my smile.
