They are located in a residential neighborhood and the only downside is the parking. Naturally, the residents do not want people going to the school to park in front of their homes and tend to leave their garbage cans etc. out on the street so get there early to find parking. The club itself does not have onsite parking. I looked at their website and called them because I could seem to be able to create an account and Joe, who answered, was very helpful. It turned out that I needed to use a different browser. The price is $140/month with a $45 one time registration fee. There are no makeup classes, which is also a downside. The pool itself is clean, with instructors in every lane. There were 3 kids assigned to the instructor that day with a max of 4. The instructors were patient and knowledgeable. There was one point of contact who was evaluating the swimmers and providing instructions. There is plenty of space for parents to hang out during the half hour class or you can leave but they ask that you stay close in case of an emergency. There are showers and loaner swim goggles and caps. They are close to the Cabana Club pool.

Apon my arrival the woman at the reception to the gym when asked where the pool was located informed me that I would have to walk through the womens locker room to get to the pool. The other option is to walk through the mens locker room. As I took my 4 year old through the womans locker room I didnt expect to have to walk through to the very back to reach the door to the pool. I am extremely upset that my son was exposed to numerous naked women. They were either changing or coming out of the shower. My son was shocked and kept saying mommy they don't have clothes on..or mommy why are they naked. I don't even let my son see me naked!!!! As my husband arrived during the lesson my son had to use the bathroom and my husband took him to the mens locker room where I asked apon their return if men were nude on that sidecas well and the answer was yes! This is unacceptable and disturbing that SafeSplash is anything but safe to be ok exposing children to this. When I called customer service Alex their customer service chuckled and said "its just a locker room"! I asked to speak to the manager and he said he can only send an email. I asked for the number to their headquarters and he said their isn't one. What type of business is this!?! From what I was told their other locations are set up the same way. Exposing children to nude adults is never ok!! I was told someone would get back to me in 48 hours. The little child size pop up changing room smelled moldy...the 1 instructor working with 1 child at a time down the lane while other children who can't swin waiting on the step is unsafe as well. If 1 of those little ones hopped off the step who would of noticed if the instructor is half way down the lane. This who company is a disaster!

At the end of this…read moresummer (at her final lesson), we found them to be ineffective in assessing and communicating back to us our daughter's skill level. We don't know what skills she mastered, and what skills are remaining to pass to the next level. This program seems to provide weekly swim practice (because the teachers are very nice), but not weekly swim *learning*, because the feedback & awareness of skills mastery is missing. Swim lessons are an investment, and our expectation was to have some degree of feedback and skills awareness at the end. UPDATE: Staff texted thorough comments in response to our request for skills feedback. We appreciated that they took time and care to do this. --- Overall, the program was good for getting our then 4-year old comfortable in the water, and being able to back float and swim to the wall. However, at her current more evolved stage (now 7, learning how to breath from the side and stroke consistently), we yearn for teachers that themselves demonstrate and model HOW in the water, and provide targeted feedback for practice. Our daughter had no idea what the techniques ideally look like, what motions to imitate. After ~10 weekly lessons this summer, our daughter wasn't able to advance effectively to the next level. Sadly, for her "advanced beginner" stage, progress wasn't compelling enough for us to continue.

I learned how to properly swim here in their group lessons (I sacrificed watching the Animaniacs cartoon on Fox TV to do so, that was a big deal for me), anyway... one day no one except me showed up to the swimming lessons, so the swimming instructor took me to get frozen yogurt. Something that you probably couldn't do today, but that 90's were fun and free. Also the instructor was straight out of a 90's movie, blonde crimped hair with a topless blue Jeep. I thought it was super cool and it still sits in my head to this day. Other than that story, which doesn't say much for the YMCA in today's day and age. I go swimming here a lot, it definitely has the cleanest pool out of the other 5 or so YMCA's in this little Bay Area circle and I must add that everyone at the front desk are super sweet. Jeremy Lorenzen I just learned is also a master de-escalator when there is a problem. He solves it with kindness, which is very rare in these times and a huge talent to have because it's easier to get frustrated and be a mean machine. Next time I start a company I am stealing Jeremy to work for me from the YMCA. He is a legend and you guys better be giving him a raise... every week.

So I'm updating my previous review. Sunday 8/23/2024…read more So it was 100 degrees out. My wife and I decided to go for a swim. I'm disabled in one knee, and the other is about to be disabled. There was a group of about 5 or 6 adults, one with an open container using the stairs as their personal lounge area. They had towels setup, dipping their feet in. One drunk and loud man was proudly blocking the stairs, holding on to the railing to hold himself up. At a common egress point you would think the lifeguards would have something to say to them. Even as I was shakily trying to get down the steps, they didn't move. Wife and I took up a lane and started to swim. Due to my disabilities my exertion level is low. One of the lifeguards decided to take it upon himself to ask me, "Is she OK with you being in her lane?" I told him, "Guy, that's my wife, wtf?" It's not like my wife went up and complained to him, but he decided to discriminate against my disability since I wasn't doing Olympic level swimming. My wife left and I was gently doing backstrokes, there was 3 kids on the deep end, same lifeguard, "Hey can these kids jump in your lane?" Wtf dude, if I wanted kids in my swimming area, I'd swim outside of a lane, not wanting to be a curmudgeon I agreed. I went to the other side of the pool to leave. As I was leaving the pool the party of 6 were still there, screaming, yelling, hanging off the rail. Again, my knees are in terrible shape. I need the hand railing, and I need space. I walked around the party, went to the lifeguard, showed him my scars on my knee and asked him, "Aren't you going to do anything about them?" He wouldn't. It's really annoying when you have visible surgical scars, visible ambulatory issues, and a lifeguard is treating you like dirt. Everyone pays fees here, but not everyone gets treated equally. That was my rub. 8/24/2026 Monday Wife and I decide to go back. There was kids everywhere, and I didn't want to put up with more lifeguard discrimination, so I went to a quiet part of the square common area. I was floating around, backstrokes, when some kid jumped in a foot away from my head. I straightened up and gave them a dirty look. So I moved over to another part of the square area where there was no kids. Started relaxing again, floating on my back. 2 kids came up and started splashing next to me, getting water in my face. I told them to go splash somewhere else. I decided to go sit in the sauna for a while. At that point I counted about 10 kids in the pool, 4 parents sitting poolside, faces buried in screens. By the time I got out of the sauna there was about 20 kids between the hottub and pool. As my wife and I walked out, I looked left at the loungers... A few more parents. Every single parent not looking at their kids, 100% focused on the screen in front of their face. I'm usually very patient of kids, but when they're unsupervised and running wild it ruins my time. How would the lifeguards or parents react if I decided to invade the kids space the way they did mine? Splashing them in the face? Let me wrap this up with a suggestion. Make the triangle area where the chair lift is adult only. That leaves plenty of other areas for kids to be kids without disturbing adults, and gives disabled adults like me a place to peacefully get their exercise in.
