This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress August was pleasant but could not bring items together. She brought us drinks and then came back with the straws. It took at least 20 minutes to bring our bread. Our table of 2 couples, all having caesar salad, had no dressing on the salad. I asked 2 different people before we could get any dressing. I tried this restaurant for the first time via delivery. I had the eggplant parmigiana and garlic bread. The bread was bad and had absolutely no flavor. I highly recommend not ordering it. I thought my meal was just ok. The sauce tasted like it came from a can and I expect more from a restaurant specializing in Italian food. Portion size was huge and it arrived hot. Never heard of this place until recently so I thought we would have it for dinner. I got a toasted club sandwich and a pizza. The food was really good but our service was not. Our waitress kept forgetting our food or to put it in so we had to wait a little longer than normal to eat. I would recommend trying the sandwiches over the pizza, I thought the sandwich was a lot better than the pizza I had. Overall I would go back. Great Ambience !! Love it the children were not loud they had old time bluesy jazz playing in background. My favorite appetizer is the calamari with lobster dipping sauce. It was ok...my hotel said it was a must try....my daughter loved her shrimp....I ordered the seafood pasta to me it was bland even with salt...My waiter had a attitude and wasn't very friendly....despite this all the other staff were smiling and nice...the restaurant was very clean. The chicken parm here is pretty good and the portions and the menu has gotten better over time. I just wish they had angel hair pasta. It's better than regular spaghetti any day but I know harder to keep in the back all day. Owner is very nice although young management kinda aloof and not very personable. My business frequently has business lunches and orders carry-out from Suttons. Their Pepperoni Pups are great. Calamari comes with some amazing dipping sauce and fried banana peppers. (I order this every time) Cesar Salad has never been disappointing but it's salad, can't really mess that up. Their bread is good (finally a place that serves wheat bread instead of white) but the oil/spices they give with the bread tastes just like bland olive oil. Really not that great but eh, it's oil. Having had to drop my daughter some things off for school late the other night we found ourselves hunting for dinner. I was sort of craving steak but really Italian. There were few places open that late, 10 but thanks to Yelp I found they were open and pulled in. My wife and I split the ribeye (very good), the mussels appetizer (best I've had better than Carraba's which had been my favorite) and the tiramisu (very good). Went there for the first time ever today. Loved the overall atmosphere of the place and the Big Band music playing. The entire staff seemed very happy, friendly, and in a great mood. We were seated and had NO clue what we wanted because EVERYTHING looked great on the menu. Our server, Rodney, recommended a dish for my fiancé and a dish for me. She got the Manzo Pasta and I got the Chicken Parmesan half red half white and we got the pepperoni pups as an appetizer. While we were waiting on our food, Rodney was a delight and ALWAYS kept our drinks refilled without us needing to ask. Once we got our food, we dove right in. We were surprised at how large the portions were for what we were paying. Not only that, they were absolutely delicious! Rodney was the perfect server. Didn't bother us while we were eating, always showed up at the right time, always had something witty and funny to say, and always had a smile. DEFINITELY gonna go back to Sutton's soon. I read some of the review ls from my Yelp group and was excited to try this place. I was really disappointed. The place was leaking. Yes that's right Leaking. My steak was awful, Mac and cheese was instant and my sweet potato fries were burnt. This place will close soon enough. I will never go back. What a great find! We had considered Suttons before because they seemed to be the only restaurant in this town that stays open past sunset. We were so pleasantly surprised by our 1st visit there. It is very comfortable and has the type of service you hope you'll get when eating out. Our server was Paul and he was perfect. Told us about the dishes he thought we'd like, not pushy & did not rush us . He brought us two drinks that totally lived up to what a drink should be. They are not afraid of using alcohol. Next, he brought 2 dishes of wonderfully cooked food that showed it had been done with real care. Seafood was as fresh as the coast ,the sauce was exactly right. Sutton's was recommended to me by a coworker as a nice place with reasonable prices that also delivered so I decided to give it a shot. A friend of mine that lives in Lexington recently had a loss in her family so I wanted to send some food so she wouldn't have to worry about cooking. I'm so glad I chose Sutton's. This is as authentic Italian as you will get without getting a passport to Italy or going to New York City. We went here on two occasions and twice the food and staff of Suttons exceeded our expectations. My wife and her family are as Brooklyn Italians as you can get, and they rave about the authenticity of the food. The pasta is fresh; seafood is memorable; and the bread pudding, although not an Italian dish, is to die for. In fact, we went here just to enjoy their world famous bread pudding. The service is impeccable. My wife asked for fresh garlic in her oil to dip her bread in. Although not something that is requested on a regular basis, the wait staff were on top of it and she got fresh garlic immediately. Our water was always filled, the bread basket was never empty and the service never stopped. I ordered the seafood pasta. Besides my wife's late grandmother's version and the one on Brooklyn, this was the best I have ever had. The seafood tasted like Kentucky borders an ocean, and the pasta is perfectly al dente. I would have ordered another serving, but dessert awaits, We had dinner at the Merrick Inn the previous night. Suttons is far a better establishment when it comes to food, drinks and service.
