Update: After my original review, I was told that the General Manager, Tessa, would be contacting us regarding the incident where Angel verbally attacked both me and my wife. As of now, we still have not received any communication or follow-up from her or anyone else in management. The lack of response has been disappointing and has only reinforced our concerns about how this situation was handled. The servers are very knowledgeable and willing to help suggesting sushi rolls or other dishes depending on what you're in the mood for. I found myself using the candle on the table several times to see the dishes. The ribeye beef rolls were okay, not my favorite. The rolls were pretty good. This is a family favorite! We've been coming here for I guess 13 years! Wow- is that possible? This will ALWAYS be a very special spot for me. 13 years ago around 9:00pm I was 9 months pregnant, sitting outside with my mom and best friend! We were having the very best time, eating sushi and their delicious lobster and shrimp appetizer (10/10) and my water broke!!! It was so exciting!! I tell the story everytime we eat there! Everything here is delicious, but we always always always get the hot rock wagyu beef and the shrimp and lobster rolls. The green sauce (jalapeño purée) is spicy, but soooooo good! This is a good spot for date night sushi! I have been to this restaurant twice and feel confident in identifying a few things that keep Uni Sushi from being a 4 or 5 star place. I have never seen anything like that before and I would not order that appetizer again. The sushi was good and the drinks were great! The most notable thing that keeps Uni Sushi from being 4 or 5 stars is the service. We spent over two and a half hours at the restaurant. We were enjoying a date night, so we didn't mind the slow service, but we found ourselves trying to find our waiter time and time again, which made it difficult when ready to pay or get more drinks. Yummy Sea bass! Glad I have a "go to" Miso sea bass now. Portions large! If you've never has a miso sea bass, it's sweet. However this was great and if you want to cut the sweetness, they nicely placed a lemon to give some acid to balance the sweetness. Half way through I usually use a lemon when eating miso sea bass. Nice waiter, not anything wrong. The steamed vegetables are nice and they have a nice selection of hot teas to pic from. I will absolutely be back. The price wasn't over the top for a specialty dish such as this! The rice was, just there but it is s traditional to have sticky rice. This place is by far one of my favorites. I love the surrounding area as well. But the restaurant has a full bar, as well as booths and tables. The lighting is very nice too, although a little dark some times. The service is always quick and the servers are kind. The food is by far the best sushi I've ever had. When Uni first opened in Market Street it was a hot place to go and I frequently regularly. The sushi was just as good as I remembered it 10 years later. I recommend the millenium and watch your butt (that cracks me up since there's jalapeños on top!). We were seated promptly but our server didn't greet us for almost 10 minutes. My main disappointment was the bathroom. It smelled, the trash can was overflowing, there was trash on the floor. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable date night. read more

All the fish was fresh, but not to the quality levels you can expect at a place of this "caliber" in Houston. People are wearing suits and brand name dresses here lol. This is similar to Oishii in terms of quality. Completely standard rolls, nigiri, and sides. The difference is- Oishii charges 1.25 per salmon nigiri, and it's 3.75 here with a smaller cut. The amberjack and yellowtail tasted exactly the same to the point where I wondered if they were even different fish lol. Chicken karaage is on the level of drive thru tapioca shops with some bottled Thai chili sauce tossed in. Rolls taste like literally anywhere could've made them. The old fashioned came with a muddled orange slice and a maraschino cherry. It's that kind of place. I guess my point is this place isn't bad. It's just not good either. Lunch out ... gosh I love love going out for lunch. Here it is dec 27 and the year is almost over. I tried the Spiro roll. $11 (?) which was pretty good I thought. Decent size and flavorful. I also got the salmon roll which had spicy salmon with cayenne seasoning on top. When I was searching for nicer sushi places in the Woodlands for a date, pretty much everything else that was recommended was in a strip mall so discovering this on Yelp was perfect for our plans! It's so pretty inside; there are tons of booths to sit at as well as a full bar and the place was pretty much spotless. Our server was so sweet and really helpful.
