** Patty Melt review ** Roadside eatery in a tiny strip plaza. Outside, it looks nothing like the classic New England train car style or New Jersey stainless steel style diners, but inside are countertop with stools, booths around the outskirts, and the hustle and bustle giving it a strong diner vibe. Like my visits to many diners, I was here on my patty melt quest. -- Patty Melt: First, the composition is faithful to the prototype, with a quarter pound patty (no smashburger nonsense), rye bread (no sourdough decoy), buttered (not merely toasted), and with the classic Swiss cheese, sautéed onions and thousand Island dressing. No fusion, no reinvention, no omissions, no hipster jive. Good crispness and butteriness on the bread, great melt on the cheese, and noticeable softness to the onions. Most importantly, the beef could be ordered medium rare, and they executed. More softness, with gushing juices and a really pleasing bite. I suspect nothing special to start with, but they cooked it to near perfection. Only quibble would be not much crust to the patty, but not as critical on a patty melt. -- Fries: I could have had tots or a few other options, but fries were fine. Almost certainly frozen, but the skin-on variety and not the dreaded coated kind. Nothing special, but good enough. Service was adequate. It seemed like everyone was prepping to get everything gathered and cleaned for closing about 90 minutes earlier than necessary, but that didn't detract. If anything, it shows initiative and hustle. What can I say about this place that I haven't said already? It's my spot for breakfast when I'm in Hudson, NH. The service is always amazing and the food is always on point and it never disappoints. The ambiance is like a typical diner with booths, no loud music so you can talk to your party. Let's get down to the food. Cinnamon Bun Pancakes- this is my go to because I love it! It's not overly sweet which I love and it reminds me on a cinnamon bun. I always get one lol Country Benedict- this is what I order every time I come here as my main dish. You get buttermilk biscuits instead of English muffins with sausage patties on top and the lovely gravy. The gravy is soo good. CHOCOLATECHIP pancakes- my daughter go to since she loves chocolate lol. Which 5 year old doesn't right? She always gets this and it's really good. So if you're in Hudson be sure to come here, you won't be disappointed. read more

Brunch time! Yes, please! Came here for breakfast with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning. The place looks like a traditional diner with plenty of booths, tables and stools at the bar. The waitress was very friendly and told us we can choose wherever we wanted to sit. We came at a good time because it quickly started filling up soon after 11am. They have several specials up on the wall which sounded very good. I decided to try their lobster Benedict and my boyfriend went with their pumpkin French toast, both were specials. We were quickly served coffee which came with bottomless refills and our entrees came out soon after. The service was very fast! The tots were perfectly crunchy and the lobster was mouthwatering delicious! I couldn't stop devouring it because the English muffin was drenched with butter! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and I quickly ate everything to my surprise. I tried my boyfriends French toast and it was very good and very rich. Usually decaf is pretty tasteless, not this one! We go to Suzies for breakfast occasionally, and the food and service is always great. The servers are so friendly! Stopped by here on our way through town after hearing about it for years. So good - the fried haddock was delicious, with perfect French Fries on the side. Here's what probably happened -- there is no hostess, you seat yourself. Staff will often mention this if they see someone waiting. In this town, or....in this state come to think of it, there seems to be plenty of competition for small, hole-in-the-wall diners that serve breakfast made with farm-to-fork ingredients. And this place would easily rank in the top 10%, IMO. Suzie's Diner is the kind of place you take your grandpa out to for an easy Sunday morning breakfast, as much as it is a place to nurse an awful hangover or satisfy a classic case of "the munchies". What I'm trying to say is this place serves breakfast food fit for a king. Or a....frugal fellow who's only interested in dining on a budget. You pick. So, I got my usual: the corned beef hash with eggs. But what set this one apart from the others I've tried in the past was the hash itself. It's made in-house, as expected. Only this one doesn't have that rubbery, shoe leathery texture of other homemade corned beef that otherwise holds the consistency of a poorly made brisket. Nay. This corned beef hash was as tender as a slow roasted brisket, and the flavor was subtle, yet satisfying in a way I can't accurately describe. But mostly, I appreciate the fact that it wasn't incessantly greasy, unlike so many other renditions of this New England classic. Everything blended well together and the whole thing just ended up being a genuinely pleasant experience. One thing to be aware of is how quickly this place gets packed. As you can imagine, it's a small diner. If you get here after 10am on a weekend, expect to see a line trailing outside the front entrance. I was fortunate enough to nab a seat a little after 9 on a Saturday morning. Another thing I love is their contactless payment system. Simply scan the QR thingy on the receipt, choose your payment method via the prompts and you're on your way. Oh yeah...the coffee's not half bad either. Suzie's Diner gets 5 tender, savory plates of corned beef hash with eggs out of 5. I will most likely return, provided I can get there before the crowd hits, of course. read more

Been here several times. Our go-to breakfast spot when we're in town. Wide selection of breakfast items plus daily specials. We get tater tots for our potato selection. They are the best. My wife will eat mine as she eats her breakfast sandwich. Very friendly staff, food has never been a disappointment. read more

First morning I tried house-made corned beef hash (OMG, to die for) and cinnamon raisin toast. Hubs had blueberry pancakes w/ eggs and bacon. We were so stoked we went back a second day even though some other Yelp reviews were enticing. Glad we did. Hubs ordered cinnamon raisin French toast to go with his bacon and eggs. Nirvana.
