I brought my engagement ring to be SVS Fine Jewelry to either be reset or repaired as part of the basket had somehow broken off. Chris greeted my husband and myself and from the get go was very personable and pleasant. He showed the ring to their repair team who said that they could repair it (obviously there is a big difference in cost between resetting and repairing) so i opted to do the less repair and hope that it would look good enough and not noticeable as I love my current setting and they said they could do it. It was blind faith as i had never used them before and didn't know anyone who had. Well, to say that they did an unbelievable job is an understatment. They invited me to watch the master repair team do their job if I wanted to) which was way more involved than I could've imagined it would be. I purchased a 14kt gold bangle and attempted to return it, Sammy the store owner, stated it was a special order since I needed a bigger size. So much for their hassle free return policy. After convincing Sammy to give me a store credit, I bought a labgrown diamond bracelet. When I asked Sammy how many grams of gold the bracelet had, he replied that he did not know. You mean a jeweler doesnt know the weight of a bracelet?. I brought the bracelet to a different jeweler, and he stated the diamonds were very low quality, my 4200 dollar investment was a waste and a complete rip off. This store is very overpriced; there are hundreds of jewelry stores on Long Island, AVOID THIS ONE. Sammy is dishonest and does not care about customer satisfaction, only the money. After reading a previous review of mine, Sammy threatened was to sue me for slander if I did not change the review and give it 5 stars, I DONT APPRECIATE being bullied into changing a review so it remains intact, I hope this review helps others to shop somewhere else. In regards to comments below, I was never disruptive, I never destroyed any property, and was not asked to leave the store . I had an old pair of earrings that needed the post replaced because it broke off. I asked if they could replace the second one as well just in case that happens again (and it was slightly bent) but they said it didn't need it and basically just bent it back in place. I took their advice and just let it be but when I went to put them on again, the post kind of bent a little bit so I'm worried it might break off. I don't want to go back to them because they charged me $45 for 5 minutes of work and only repaired one earring post! They did clean the pair which was nice but still, I'd shop around for a better price next time. read more

Ok so I don't usually post but you need to know this so it doesn't happen to you ! This is my third time having problems with this place and this was the last time. I went to SVS Fine Jewelry To get my necklace repaired bc it snapped and they called me a few days later to tell me it was fixed. (Which was weird to me) because they have been "fixing" this bracelet I got from them the past year Over and over again for weeks at a time because it keeps breaking, Mind you I'm very delicate with my jewelry but their excuse is that it's a " fragile piece" but it's really not. Anyways so I go in to pick up my bracelet again & my chain the same day they called me to tell me it was ready. As I'm at the counter waiting for my receipt the guy shows me my pieces and has me sign for them. Im looking at my necklace and I'm realizing it doesn't feel the same as I'm trying to put the pendent on it. Then I get my receipt and leave. I get in the car where I was excited to put my jewelry back on so I was trying to put the pendent on the chain and that's when I realized IT WASN'T MY CHAIN ! I quickly looked and it over and over and began shaking bc I couldn't believe this was happening. I immediately called them to tell them and the women on the phone didn't know what to say except to come back in, so I went back and she took the chain and pendent right away behind the counter to talk to this women. The women then called me back around the counter and showed me a blurry picture of MY chain when I brought it in and tried telling me it's the same one. I started pointing out all the reasons it's not and she called over the manager sammy. I explained to him this isn't my chain and proceeded to tell him y ! I said "my chain had Italy on the clasp this says XL, the clasp at the other end you can see was removed and put on again it was also longer ! Then my chain and didn't look or feel the same at all." The manager sammy proceeded to avoid half the things I told him and said "what did u bring it in for ? " I said " bc it snapped in the middle because it got pulled." And then he said " what shape were the links?" I said circle (meanwhile this chain looks square) and he said " ahhh yes see it got pulled and now it's stretched out " and he had me believing him for a second intill I said " wait but the feel the clasps the length still bc it can't stretch that many inches ! " all he could say is "look at the picture" (the blurry picture) I said "u can't see anything in that" and then he started to get annoyed and said "what do you want to do Victoria because I have better things to do then be dealing with this right now." I got so upset and I said "then you shouldn't be in this industry, own up to it tell me the truth !" And he said "nope I'm not going to do that". So I took the chain ,my pendent and the paper and left crying. Needless to say I will never be going back there even though I have a credit from them because I had another incident back at Christmas time that I ordered a pendent and it came completely different then the picture they showed me in there catalogue, and they wouldn't give me my money back just store credit. At the end of 2019, my girlfriend Kayleigh and I took a trip to SVS. She had found them on social media and heard great things. We contacted them prior to our visit and made an appointment to meet with Donna. Kayleigh had an idea of what styles of rings she liked, but she wanted the opportunity to try things on as well to be absolutely sure. Donna was extremely kind and professional by explaining the differences in the options we looked at and answering all of our questions. She would tell us stories of her experiences through the years in the jewelry business and even though we had just met, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease during the process of ring shopping. Donna took notes during our visit so that when I went back alone, there was something easy for us to reference. Donna had written down the styles that Kayleigh had tried on as well as her size and certain details she enjoyed. When I went back alone, I brought a picture Kayleigh had showed me from online and asked Donna if we could recreate that ring while also incorporating some other features that Kayleigh wanted. Donna said absolutely, and then we got to work on picking a diamond. Truthfully, I was clueless when it comes to the different qualities and specifications of diamonds, but again Donna made it easy to understand and answered any questions. I picked the stone I wanted and put down my deposit! After a few weeks, I received a digital rendering of what the ring would look like. I asked for some small changes and got an update within a day or two at which point I approved it to be made. Fast forward another 6 weeks or so and I got a call from Donna saying that the ring was ready. I went in shortly after Valentine's Day to pick it up and it was STUNNING! She explained the warranty, insurance, and proper care for when I would give it to Kayleigh. She gave me a big and small ring box so I'd have options to work with. She was so sweet throughout the entire process and was a complete pleasure to work with. I planned to propose in April but postponed my plans due to COVID. In mid-July I was able to propose to Kayleigh in an escape room and catch her completely off guard and present her with her beautiful ring. From start to finish, Donna and everyone at SVS knocked it out of the park and brought my fiancée's dream ring to life! Visit Date: October 9, 2017 I stopped here after work to get two Pandora Charms for my friends upcoming birthdays. They were so helpful in here. I saw lots of beautiful jewelry I can only dream about affording on my way to see the Pandora charms. They cleaned my bracelets for me, I think it was a free service but I'm not 100% sure and gave me new pandora pouches for them so they wouldn't tarnish. My bracelets look so refreshed and pretty now. They helped me by showing me different charms, I chose a travel one for my one friend and a Disney charm for my other friend. They also looked for a star ring for me by Pandora but I think it was retired a few years ago but they were happy to look for me. I was very happy to come here for Pandora and was glad to support a local business vs. a box store something I try to do whenever I can. The staff here is so helpful, nice and friendly and I would definitely stop here again in the future for Pandora if I'm in the area. read more

use to go to this jeweler until they ruined my pendant that held so much significance to me. It had a small enamel eye fall out so I went to have it replaced. It should have been a very simple fix as it just needed to be filled with enamel. Instead the jeweler had no understanding of this and was searching for a replacement eye. He made it seem as though this was the only way to fix it so I sadly agreed to let him put this replacement in. In the process of adding this new piece they completely ruined the borders of the pendant. After being so unhappy they offered to fix it and this went on for months. Me going to pick up the pendant only to see how hideous it looked and them insisting it could be fixed and again and again it just kept looking worse and worse. I just got to the point where I picked up the pendant and now it's in a box because it hurts me to look at it. Something I loved so much completely butchered because they didn't understand that it only needed to be filled in with enamel. In addition to that horrendous incident the first time I went to this jeweler I was sold an adjustable necklace for a pendant with two hooks. This should have never been offered for a pendant like this as it is physically impossible to use the adjustable feature because the back clasp will show to the side or the front depending on how small the necklace is made. In order to attach this necklace to my pendant the necklace needed to be broken into two pieces to attach to each side of the pendant another terrible idea as this necklace can now never be put back together. And because of the type of chain it is it breaks very easily where they cut it so they completely compromised the chain. It's had to be repaired 3 times already. This was not a cheap necklace and now I can't fix it to use with a more appropriate pendant it's absolutely ridiculous. And during one of the repairs they did for this necklace when I showed them how it's not even on each side when I adjust the necklace they cut one side down and kept the additional chain they cut off when it was a part of my necklace and not there's to keep. Unfortunately I wasn't the one picking up the necklace and my husband did t think about the missing chain piece they never gave him. I would never trust or recommend this place. They clearly are not good jewelers and I have had two pieces ruined by them. This is jewelry we're talking about it's not exactly a cheap product so if you value your special items I'd look elsewhere. I now have two items of jewelry I can't use thank to this place. read more

This placed moved so don't be alarmed by the "For Rent" sign posted in the window. Luckily, I checked the website earlier (for hours) and was alerted to the move. The new location is really only like three blocks down (same side of the street.) The new store front is gorgeous. Sleek black awnings and larger quarters are definitely an upgrade for this upscale jewelry store. Not sure of the parking situation as I passed the place upon first look. I parked around the corner on a residential street and walked. As I walked into the store the place gleamed almost as bright as the sparkly jewelry. OMG I needed sunglasses! This place could turn a jeans and t-shirt gal into a wannabe jewelry snob! It is beautiful. The smell of fresh paint is still in the air, and it just shows you how much this place has grown. The customer service on this last trip was excellent as always and fresh baked Otis Meyer cookies were within arms reach. OH! And the hours are perfect for those that work 9-5. Great experience at SVS!!! My fiance got my engagement ring here and we came back to get it resized (now fits perfectly!) and also buy wedding bands. Not only did we spend 2 hours here trying on many different styles, but they also used a jeweler computer program to let me design my own wedding band in sapphire and diamond and printed me a 3D image of my designs. In the end, I didn't even go with the band I designed, but never did they make me feel bad about wasting time. Honestly, I do not even know where to begin. Lets start from the beginning! When I walked through the front door I was greeted immediately with smiles and very professional looking employees. First impressions is huge for me and all I can say is that my first impression of SVS was beyond impressed. In addition to the lovely staff, the store is absolutely immaculate. You can truly tell that the owner, Sam, of this establishment truly cares about all aspects of his business. After being greeted by the friendly staff, I sat down with Nikki who truly made my life so much easier. I did not know much about engagement rings; however, Nikki's expertise made my time as SVS worth while and a experience that I will never forget - as it should. It felt as if I was sitting down with one of my sisters to pick out the ring that would inevitably be slipped onto the left ring finger of my future fiancé. Maybe SVS should coin a term similar to the Olive Garden's, "when you're here your family" trademark because that is how I felt through the entirety to my experience at SVS. Thank you for that. Here is where I talk about the price of the ring. All I can say is that SVS provided me with a great deal. I gave Nikki my budget and she delivered a flawless 1.28 karat solitaire diamond in a pave setting that came in just below what I budgeted for. I could honestly go on and on, but I will spare you all on this point. Just know that SVS has great prices. The time that it took for SVS to complete the ring was incredible as well. SVS finalized the ring within 3 weeks of my purchase. Every other jeweler wanted 5-8 weeks. I provided SVS with the date that I intended on proposing to my now fiancé and SVS did everything to ensure that I had the ring in my hand by that date. Moreover, I was able to insure the ring at SVS as well, which my life so much easier. SVS is truly a one stop shop. Just before my arrival to pick up my future fiancé's ring, SVS' owner, Sam, called me personally to thank me for choosing SVS. I truly value this aspect of people's businesses. Customer service and quality of the product sold should always be a business owner's prerogative. Anyway, when I arrived, Sam immediately greeted me, showed me the ring, answered any and all my questions, and provided me with all the necessary paperwork. Once again, I go back to my initial comment, I felt as if I was a member of their family or had been purchasing jewelry from SVS for years, which was not the case. This was my first purchase from SVS. My cousin's engagement ring was purchased from SVS and after seeing her ring, I could only say where did you go and sign me up! The staff is friendly but it's super quiet and bright in there and I always feel like if I'm dressed in my "day off" clothing that I look like I shouldn't be there.
