Passing through Holbrook on the way to Colorado. I had to use the restroom, stopped at a truck stop where this just happened to be adjacent to. I love Indian food, so I thought I'd just peek inside to check it out. It was busy with Punjabi truck drivers who stop there to eat. It was clean, friendly and I got the best chicken biryani ever. This is the real deal. It is not fast food, so be prepared to wait, but it is so worth it. I saw reviews of people complaining about loud music and long waits. This restaurant is an Indian restaurant...their music, way of cooking, culture, etc. the people complaining need to shut up and go to Burger King, which is also at the same truck stop. Stumbled upon this gem oddly located inside a truck stop while on a road trip. The place is huge, you can tell they are new-ish, the owners were very warm and welcoming, we placed our order and took our seat, not expecting much. We got their Daal tadka, chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic naan. Finished our meal with Kheer. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, very simple, hearty and delicious flavors. Prices are reasonable considering the quantity of the food. Don't let its unassuming exterior fool you; the food is absolutely delectable. Whether you're a traveler passing through or just a local looking for an Indian meal, this place is a must-visit. An oasis among a desert. Came in after a long day driving craving some good food and they delivered. The vegetarian options were plentiful and the meat options were great. Got a classic Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan and my husband ordered a Goat Biryani. The food was incredible. Service was solid, and there were plenty of seats. I wanted to explore the truck stop next to the freeway outside of Holbrook. I was glad to find such a restaurant in my area because I used to go to the buffet all of the time some years ago. This is some of my favorite kind of food. That said, I think that the prices are too high. I think that they must appeal to the truckers who spend more money while on the road than some. I remember having naan just given to me with the meal. The quality of the food was good. What was bad was that I found the experience disorientating. There were two menus, one with the vegetarian options and one without. Also I really want to see prices next to all items on the menu. Are they the breakfast/lunch and dinner menus? There is a scan code taped to some surfaces. This brings up the Google business listing. I tried looking on the menu on the cell phone that would be the text menu in Google and I could not find vegetarian items, although they have 16 dishes at Swaad Stop for me. I look at the images for the menu in Google and they show pics of the paper menu with no prices for the main dishes. But I did find the vegetarian items in there so better than nothing. I find Swaad Stop in Google Maps on my PC and I can't see any menu in there. I can't even find a phone number or website. If you put in prices and fix the menu in the Google page then I will give you five stars. I'll even do this for free for you if you want. Jason read more

Sorry to add yet another 5-star review, but here goes. On our trip from CA to TX for the eclipse, we totally stumbled into Swaad Stop via the "breakfast near me" option on a search engine. Who can resist Indian food for breakfast? Not I! What a fascinating place! Clearly set up to serve a specific clientele (Indian truckers), the mostly-non-English speaking staff was very helpful and personable. Amazing food, great service, and I enjoyed listening to the music while waiting for my food. I ordered the butter chicken with garlic naan. they asked what level of heat I wanted. I requested mild since I do have heartburn sometimes and I'm traveling. they made it just the perfect level of spice and the flavors were amazing. I've been to many Punjabi restaurants, most of them in New Zealand. This took me back there. Also, butter chicken is a good dish to get if you're trying Indian food for the first time, which was the case for my best friend, who was with me. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal. We loved the food we had at Swaad Stop. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Madala were great. Also, the Garlic Naan was really good, and you get a lot for $2.50. The entrance is not obvious but it is part of the Hopi Travel Plaza just east of Holbrook. read more

Excellent food! It was one of the best food I ever tasted! Not only that the owner Jessi Singh was very friendly. My Wife is from Bangladesh and me from India and we got one of the best hospitality by Mr. Singh. I had ordered a butter chicken and goat curry. He also gave use a mango lassi and salad, like how they serve the guest in the house! And despite a our numerous requests he did not charge for salad and mango lassi! read more

We finally tried this restaurant, and we're so glad we did. My parents had told us how good it was before but I never thought it would be so amazingly good! I had the lamb curry and the spice was perfect and the basmati rice along with the garlic Naan was such a good combination. My dad tried the chili chicken (he ordered it mild). I'm getting that next time because my daughter and I ate half his plate! It was so yummy and had a tomato sweetness. It was cooked to perfection. My husband got the lamb biryani and it was fresh with a great aroma and taste. My brother had the buttered chicken and he shared a little and that was so good too! The flavor of every single thing was so good. My mom had already eaten so she had the rice pudding dessert. I had a taste of that and it was good. I also had the Chai tea and was so grateful that it wasn't already sweetened. It was perfect without any sugar! We'll be back again to try other options and to definitely get that chili chicken! Hidden gem. Moved to Arizona from New York City and have not had Punjabi cuisine of this caliber since arriving in the southwest. Recommend the Goat Curry, Malai Kofta, and any of the Biryani rice dishes. 10/10 read more
