Sam is a great owner and he and the crew always make the best breakfast sandwiches. I love coming here and getting the usual BECSPK. I needed a drink fridge for my man cave and Sam even told me he will order me one and I love it. I picked it up and it's in my bar in my basement. Sam and the Swan Deli is the place to go for sandwiches. Their Lunch menu is so good too. I love calling and hearing Sam yell SWAN BAGEL DELI..... he even gives my little girls lollipops or candy. Ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese with extra bacon (which was an up charge of 3$ each) for myself & boyfriend and received a sandwich with 2 and half pieces of bacon, one sandwich looks like it has some old grey baconon a half soggy and half stale roll do yourself the favor and go elsewhere for breakfast sandwiches. The proof is in the pictures the ratio should be better when up-charged for more product...this was my second go to place for breakfast sandwiches but now it's not going to be a consideration. read more

This place used to be solid with fresh food on offer and it was a place that could be trusted for good sandwiches and breakfast items. The place now seems to be thinly stocked, which is typically a bad sign. We ordered a few sandwiches including an egg salad sandwich and it was not fresh and was not edible. One bite and unfortunately had to spit it out and the rest of the sandwich went into the garbage. Other items were subpar as well. Staff looked like they had a long morning or something and they were not friendly. Lots of good food in Patchogue these days. Better options nearby. read more

Just moving into the area and called ahead for sandwiches to feed friends helping with a load. Since I don't know the menu I just asked that they prepare 8 top sellers. They had them right on time, were super friendly, and I was able to pick up all the extras like beverages and chips when I showed up to pay for my order. Will definitely repeat this experience. I really enjoy Swan Pizza. The owner is not that nice, but the guy that makes the pizza is always positive and friendly. I like the pizza there. I often stop there for a slice and conversation. The meat lover is my favorite. I feel the prices are far and not to extreme. It is bad they don't take credit cards. One time I left because I had no cash, embarrassing, but the food more then makes up for the inconvenience. The floor needs work too, very outdated, but lots of cool personal art on the wall, it's a great place to relax and enjoy your meal without a crowd. If you like good food and a friendly guy making it and you don't need a five star restaurant atmosphere then Swan Pizza is the place for you! read more

I put myself in an awkward situation here one time when I put in an order for a couple sandwiches and didn't have enough cash. They don't except credit or debit, and the heros are expensive for that you get. I dont know why I would have expected anything else. I wound up running outside to borrow money from my companion who I was gonna treat, and that's how I learned Swan Country Deli & Gifts is cash only. read more

I love this deli. They're open late, you can get an egg sandwich at 5pm if you wanted to and the sandwiches are always delicious. Even the pizza is pretty good for a deli and I love the chicken Caesar wraps on the pizza side. The staff is always nice & I love that I can stop here at 8 o'clock at night when most delis are closed. read more

Worst place my office has gone to. They keep getting orders wrong and won't fix them. Every time we have ordered someone gets sick. Ordered a bagel today thinking how can you screw up bread and butter. But they did. Their was very little butter on the bagel. Other co worker orders a sandwich with no ketchup. Sandwich was covered in ketchup. Not the first time this has happened. Staff is rude and doesn't communicate with you. BUYER BEWARE read more

Swan Deli has been there where South Country Road and Montauk Highway meet for as long as I can remember and they have always been a pretty good place to get an egg sandwich in the morning or something for lunch. The food is always good. Yes they only take cash and it is kind of weird and annoying and they always had the little section of grocery items that no one ever seemed to buy..... But now there is Swan Pizza which I have to say is a much better use of space. The plain cheese is delicious, the crust is great and they have tasty specialty slices like chicken bacon ranch and a great supreme slice with all sorts of goodies on it. Authentic Turkish cuisine. Made from scratch by a magnificent chief. Food is delicious and healthy. No need to go to Whole Foods to pick up something for dinner when I need a night off from cooking. Often I meet my husband after work at Swan Deli to have dinner with him there. It is a deli that is part gourmet restaurant. Lucky to have such a restaurant close to my house. Had them cater my family gatherings. Food so good and healthy there was no need for me to cook. My whole family loves their food. They will be seeing a lot of me and my family. We definitely will have them cater our Easter dinner. :) read more

Stopped in once before, it wasn't the best experience but since they're local decided to give them another chance and wish I didn't. Way over priced, $5.75 for a plain bagel with butter ?? I understand they don't make their own bagels, but that's insane price gouging and all they had to say about it is "that's what it is" because they consider it a 'breakfast sandwich"...it's a bagel with butter not a BEC, get real. It's chaos in there, new owners are remodeling and seem to have no idea what they're doing when it comes to working the register or having any customers service. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and won't be coming back. Oh, and they forgot to add the salt pepper and ketchup on the bacon egg and cheese...which was also $5.75. This place is in a very convenient spot to grab a morning cup of coffee. I sooooo wanted it to be good. Its bad enough that they force you to drink from a cheap styrofoam cup (get with the times folks...), the coffee tastes different every day! Though they are not cheap, I would be happy to pay a little more to get a decent cup of coffee in a cup that won't be around a million years from now. What was once a staple in the community has turned into an overpriced shell of its old self. The staff is unfriendly, rude and impersonal and the food is severely overpriced. Rather than being greeted when I walked in, I awkwardly stood at the counter and waited for the worker to finish wiping down her counters. Never did she say "hello" or "I'll be with you in a second". She just looked at me and kept wiping. When she finished wiping the counters, she asked me what I would like. I asked for a turkey and cheese sandwich. As she walked away I remembered I never mentioned onions, so I requested the onions. This task promted her to sigh, put the paper down, roll her eyes, and write down onions on the slip of paper. When she completed my sandwich I asked for a small fountain drink. The cashier confusingly looked around on the price boards for a price before giving up shrugging her shoulders and typing an overwhelming $2.00 in the register. I than asked if the sandwich came with a side salad. The cashier looked back at the board looking for an answer before asking her co worker in the back who responded with a loud, rude NO. You would think I was asking for a free sandwich and a $100 bill. I took my sandwich and sat in the seating area where I ate in near silence. No music, just the buzzing of the refrigerator cases, a silent muffled news 12 in the corner, and the loud chopping of the rude worker in the back. Before leaving, I curiously asked how much a small cup of macaroni salad would cost to which the rude lady in the back scathed "A dolla and change". 12 years ago if Yelp were a thing, I would have given this deli a high favorable rating. The owner Kathy and the workers were incredibly friendly, the sandwiches were on point (and actually came with a side salad) and it was always a pleasant experience. I stop at Swan deli with my family for breakfast and agree with Evan C on the point that the owner is very rude to her staff. She belittled the guy taking are order and then the lady in the back cooking are breakfast. The food was good but the place was over 85 degrees inside and I watched the owner was making a large hero with no gloves and wiping her head from sweat then touching the meat and cheese with the same hand. If my family had not finished their breakfast, I would have demanded a refund after seeing this. read more

Don't ever expect this owner to stand behind what she sells. I tried returning a half gallon of milk which went bad a week before the expiration date. The owner said I drank half the milk, and refused to give me my money back. She then wanted to give me a quart of milk instead. Go anywhere else and they would have either given me my money or a new half gallon of milk. Now she is putting in a pizzeria in the deli. I can't imagine what that will be like. Disgusting! The two times I went there the service was slow and the people working there seemed disinterested in helping me. To top it off both times they used the same gloves to prepare someone else's food, then handle money and then prepare my food. When I pointed it out to them, they gave me a song and dance about how the Dept. of Health tells them that they DO NOT have to change their gloves! If I could give this deli a negative amount of stars I would, I had one of the worst experiences of my life here. On a Thursday I called this deal to find out about ordering a hero a specific type chicken cutlet and two trays of food for Saturday, I spoke with the owner who said sure no problem she had 1/2 trays of food I could order this would be cheaper then a package to come on in on Fri to order and pay ok. Friday I worked sent my sister in woman behind the counter was rude to her told her couldn't order hot food need a weeks notice. So my sister went ahead to order the hero well the hero was the wrong price 3 dollars more a foot then what was advertised on line, so I called the deli to find out why the woman who answered the phone extremely rude told me I must be looking at the wrong menu I said this is on your website she tells me I need to speak with the owner. Well the owner calls and leaves me this horrible nasty voice mail how she doesn't cheat anyone to call her back needless to say in the next hour the owner called 3 more times. When I got off of work I once again called the deli like I said I would and very nice male answered told him the situation he said I'm so sorry it is the owner and this is how she behaves she doesn't want to do your food because she's going on vacation yer my food is already paid in full.he informed me she was at the bank she'd be back in about an hour can she call me back I said sure....stupid me because an hour later I have this crazed lunatic calling my phone ranting like a manic how she isn't doing my food I accused her of stealing my money and on and on I couldn't get a word in she was screaming. ..finally said to me she can't refund me my money she doesn't know how and hangs up on me. My sister and I go there a nice young guy at the counter directs us to this dirty back room where this woman refuses to give me my money back I did at this point request cash over it going back on my debit card she claimed she didn't know how to do.i again got to say nothing except I was going to call the police which in return she did telling them I wasn't leaving the store I was fighting with her and you know how these people are she said. Not sure what people since I was in my scrubs from work from the hospital. It was a bit amazing how she spoke calmly to the cops hung up and started screaming at me again I said something to her about not a good way to conduct business screaming at someone she told me she had a cold only for me I guess. My sister and I were waiting outside for the police they came spoke to her, then me got my money back magically and the lunatic started screaming at me in front of them the cop told her to stop give me money so we could go then recommend a good deli to me :).I ended up calling j's family deli on Waverly ave on sat morning picking up on my food Sunday they were more the accommodating, friendly , nice and turned out their food was great. read more

If this review stops one person from wasting money in this place, I'll feel better. It's awful. I've been told that years ago- this was an excellent place for breakfast sandwhiches and lunch- but trust me...not anymore! In fairness, I tried the place several times, since anyplace can have a "bad day " . Save your self the trouble. As simple a thing as coffee and a buttered roll...is awful- the butter is terrible- the coffee, bitter, even the roll- didn't taste right! The heros are expensive and on two separate occasions, companions became ill after eating here. I actually tossed a sandwhich from here when I detected an off odor. When I called to complain I was treated badly. Not cool. There are so many other places to go- why chance it ? Do as I do: if you work or live around here...go to the bakery next door for coffee, and to the pizza place across the lot or the hero place up the street. Seriously. read more
