Went here our last night in Greenport and what a great way to close our trip. Loved the 6-side Mediterranean sampler, the Greek salad, the lamb, and beef-stuffed peppers. Out-of-this-world homemade fries! Fluffy and crispy pita bread. Could not get enough. We even got to meet the owner who was so warm, celebrating her daughter's birthday as we were celebrating our own family trip. Romantic, cozy venue with excellent food and family friendly vibes. We ordered the cold sampler- surprised by how good the beet concoction was- and a shepherd salad. I went out to dinner with my mom last night to this restaurant and it was amazing, great time great experience. We ordered the tantuni as our main dish to share as well as a bottle of Turkish wine and a salad. The owner and also our server, Joseph, was a pleasure to talk with and taught us a lot about Turkish culture. I had never tried Turkish wine before it was great. Quiet place with good music. While on the North Fork we found this absolutely wonderful Turkish/ Mediterranean restaurant for dinner in Greenport. The owner Yusef was so nice , welcoming and attentive! The restaurant is clean and neat with plenty of seating. The food is amazing , delicious and presented so beautifully. We enjoyed an excellent bottle of Turkish wine , something I've never had before, it was delicious ! Pita bread with Olive spread and hummus is brought straight away to the table , it was scrumptious ! We then ordered an appetizer, that we never had before , it was mussels with a potato filling wrapped in fillo dough and fried .. I wish I remembered what it was called ... WOW so good! I had the chicken kabobs served with grilled veggies and jasmine rice . The grilled chicken was flavorful and tender and the veggies of grilled asparagus, , sweet and white potato along with the rice were perfectly cooked . I can't say enough of how delicious everything was ! Yusef then brought us over a complimentary after dinner drink and rice pudding ! What a lovely surprise! You can't go wrong with Turkish food! This restaurant has a very cute seating area outside when weather permits. The server was very nice and spoke to us about his hometown in izmir. The gözleme was a nice appetizer and the salads were very fresh. I definitely recommend, it is a little bit pricey of course. read more

Good food is hard to come by in Greenpoint, and this place is a refreshing exception. Solid Mediterranean cuisine served by a welcoming staff in a cute set up right across the street from Mitchell Park, offering a nice people watching post. We ordered the Salmon Shish and Chicken Shish, and while both the chicken and salmon were a tad overcooked, the flavors were lovely and portions were generous. We were excited to discover Olive Branch, a hidden gem with phenomenal Turkish/Mediterranean food and outstanding service. The menu consists of traditional kebabs as well as more unique or uniquely presented items. Everything was delicious. In addition, we were impressed by the attention and care offered by the owner. He served our young kids as they were adults, taught them how to eat properly, and offered a dessert if they were to finish their meals. In the end, I was touched when he brought out delicious Baklava only to discover that one of my kids cannot have gluten. In LI to visit family and went there for dinner with my Aunt and sister. Food was very fresh and tasteful and the presentation was excellent. They had the ottoman Shephards salad and I had the lamb kabob. The baba genius (sp?) was excellent. I was very surprised and please the Yakut (red wine from Turkey) was very good. read more

Our 1st Visit to Olive Branch Restaurant. We were greeted by the owner Yusef and Michelle his wife who makes you feel very welcomed. The Chef is very passionate about his food & it shows. His recommendation were awesome. They had a two piece duo playing the piano & sing wonderful music. We started off with delicious platter with Hummus, Beets, Eggplant spread. The Spinach Spanakopita was the BEST I ever had. I could of ate that as a meal. Absolutely made fresh on premise. Dinners were all cooked perfectly! For dessert I would highly recommend the Baklava. Visited Greenport with another couple on a recent Thursday... Beautiful town to spend some quality time. We were there late afternoon so we wanted to catch a bite before dark, when it gets colder! As we drove thru town we saw a couple of Igloos in a courtyard which belonged to OBR. We called to ask if rezzys were needed for immediate arrival and were told "come on down" and when we parked and walked in we were met by Ahmet, our server who told us our igloo was awaiting us. He unzipped the entrance, turned on the little heater and asked for drinks...Well, after asking about their wines, which we were not familiar with, he brought out a tray with a bottle of each for us to taste.... an amazing gesture! We ordered drinks and then perused the menu. We chose to forgo appys and go for the entres. We shared an incredible Ottoman Shepherds Salad which was perfect! Our choices were the Kavurma Dinner, Lamb Shish Kebab Dinner and a couple of Tanturi Dinners over rice. We haven't tasted flavors this rich since we were actually in the Mediterranean! The lentil soup was fantastic, the Octopus dinner was the best we've tasted outside of Greece. The Tantuni lamb was to die for, and the Ottoman's Shepard salad was so fresh and bursting with flavor. We have found a new favorite spot in Greenport! The short: HIGHLY recommend this spot if you're looking for either a cute lunch cafe or a delicious Mediterranean meal! The longer: this restaurant is nestled in a corner off of Front Street. In the warmer months there are tables outside. The restaurant is actually two spaces: the back left has an adorable cafe & shop for quicker bites & the restaurant has fuller meals and a gorgeous dining room. I haven't tried the cafe yet-- but have gotten take out several times from the restaurant, and it's easily now one of my favorite spots in Greenport! Michele & Yusuf - the owners & chef, respectively- are the absolute sweetest & most hospitable restaurant owners I've ever encountered. They truly care about ensuring their customers have an amazing dining experience-- and they see to it personally. The food-- AMAZING & soooo fresh & they give you very, very generous portions. Their grilled chicken is literal perfection in any form. Their tzatziki is creamy, yogurt-y deliciousness. Their gyros, meat & rice are all seasoned just right. I have never had a bad meal here. We really enjoyed the food and the service at Olive Branch. We shared together our late dinner of the large combination platter, Spinach kopita, tabouleh salad and home fries...YUM! I had a glass of Turkish white wine which was really good. Perfect with our food. It was three of us and we left feeling full of tasty and healthy food! After we paid the check, we were offered Turkish coffee and pomegranate tea. Everyone was really nice there and you could tell they love the food they are serving and want you to enjoy it too, which I feel like is part of the experience. The outdoor cafe part looked so cute but it had just been a flash downpour of rain, so we ate inside which has less ambiance in my opinion that the outdoors but still nice, enough space in the table for all the food we were sharing and extra plates.
