Deplorable business ethics! I have a Swan Pool, and called the company to get information on some warranty work. Charlie Dennis answered the phone. I started to explain my situation then he said I have the wrong office. He is LA County, and I needed the San Bernardino office. He said maybe I can answer your question though. Great! So, I started to tell him about my pool issue and that I needed warranty work done. He then (aggressively) cut me off and said you're not covered. I hadn't finished describing the issue, so I politely continued. He cut me off again, and began speaking in a condescending tone. I didn't understand the attitude, I was merely trying to get clear information. We continued to discuss this a bit and his hostility grew rapidly. I stated that I'm just trying to understand why I wouldn't be covered under the warranty and give him the full information. He began to yell, yes YELL. I stated that he had very poor customer service skills and needed to work on that. He became infuriated - and I mean really unhinged! I of course became angry, although I never yelled. It was crazy, he started yelling that he was an asshole and didn't need to work on shit. I was speechless, I've never experienced a business (or owner) behaving in such a manner. I told him that I was going to Yelp him, he laughed and yelled go ahead I don't give a shit, said "F@#K OFF" and hung up. I was just in shock. What the hell had just happened? Was he just having a bad day? Well according to the other yelp reviews here this seems to be his standard behavior. I called the San Bernardino office. I stated what happened and they said "yeah that's Charlie, that's how he is". So, they know and this is normal and accepted? I asked for the number to the corporate office and I guess there isn't one. He doesn't answer to anyone. Which makes no sense to me because there are many Swan Pool offices, they share at minimum a company name and they give the appearance as a larger company, meaning as one. I called the Better Business Bureau and the Contractor Board, but I didn't actually do business with this man. I would normally just ignore, but how many do that and this guy just continues to have no consequences. Although I would think his business is probably greatly hurt by treating customers this way. So, I decided to warn the public that you may get verbally attacked by this man. READ the review that posted pictures of his own texts to his customer! Being that the other Swan Pool offices clearly know of this man's emotional issues I will be posting this to their Yelp as well...you have the same name so you're connected and should be held accountable for his behavior. We just had Swan Pools complete our Swimming Pool, we could not be happier. We read the reviews that were on yelp but thought they were either fake or posted by teenagers trying to discredit a company that has a great reputation. When Charles Dennis came out for our first appointment,on time by the way unlike 2 other companies, we asked him about the other reviews. His explantion satisfied us and it is a joke, and then he aked if we would like some referalls and after talking to 5 other recent customers we were impressed with what they had to say about . Swanpools.We went to look at 2 of the jobs and we loved the detail and the quality.Anyway, my husband and I signed contracts that were very detailed and nothing was left to wonder about and the pay schedule very fair and we felt very comfortable. Charles obtained the permits and we started construction , the excavation crew was very careful and did a perfect looking HOLE in our backyard. That HOLE after 2 months became a wonderful resort in our backyard. The kids love it ,our family now comes here to relax and spend time with friends. Swanpools did a great job! I do not hesitate to refer them to anyone. They do indeed deserve a 5 star rating . read more

Second part to my long review, I will try to keep it short this time. The pool is about a year old now and it turned out great! I will try to post pics when I get time. I have done a lot of renovations and have dealt with all kinds of contractors, its hard to find really good ones that back up their work a year later! I had a small issue with the heater and all it needed was a few settings on the controller. The Pentair screen logic is awesome BTW! I called Swan and left a message - they got back to me the same day. Issue was fixed the day after! I did not get any BS to try and contact the equipment manufacturer or have my pool guy take care of it. No BS about charges for getting someone out to fix it! For those who are experienced with reno projects and dealing with contractors, you know its hard to find contractors that even return your call for small issues after they have been completely paid. This says a lot to me when they warranty their work and the fact that they have been around a long time. I have confidence that 5 or 10 years from now I can still call them. read more

I wanted to wait until the full build was completed before writing a review but here it is and I am glad we chose Swan Pools! After calling around and having multiple sales guys measure the yard and present me with cookie cutter templates they tried to tailor to the yard, Charlie showed up at the reccomendation of a friend. His attention to detail, paired with his hand drawn designs based on our needs let me know we were in good hands from the beginning. From design to the first poolside drink, his team was professional, courteous, and most importantly met deadlines originally discussed. The plumber Mike was especially knowledgeable and my wife chuckled a few times mentioning he was easy on the eyes amidst the barren backyard prior to decking. ; ) Now that we have a great pool in the backyard I would suggest doing your research, realizing it will take time, and take into account it's not always about saving a dime. I have to say since Swan pools built my first pool in the mid 90's I have stayed in contact with the owner Charlie very honest and down to earth person, I would definitely have to recommend this Company to anyone who is thinking of building a Pool, very professional. The crew was very considerate of our backyard and there were no complaints from my neighbors. Any concerns or questions we had were all answered in a timely manner Swan Pools did a fabulous job. Since Swan pools did such a great job on my first pool I had them come out to my second home and build me another pool that's how much confidence I have in this company. Swan Pools did the original construction on our pool twelve years ago. As with all pools, they require some updating from time to time. Because they had done the original construction, we contacted Charlie from Swan Pools to come out and give us a quote. We wanted to not only have the pool redone with pebble and change the tiles, we wanted to move our BBQ and add a fire pit. We had a very short time line, as our son was graduating from college and we had a party planned to celebrate. Charlie did an incredible job of coordinating the workers to complete the project. Not only was it done quickly, it was done professionally. We have had compliments on the workmanship from everyone that has come to our home. Charlie's swan pools in Glendora is the best! It was so easy working with this company. Kind, professional, experienced and affordable. Charlie stayed in contact the entire time and never missed a deadline. He worked with us to get the look and feel we wanted. Swan Pools in Upland/Covina was recommended by our friends who built their pool a year prior. When we first met with Charlie, we were only interested in an in-ground spa. He convinced us that it would be much more cost efficient to also build a pool since we needed all the same equipment for the spa anyhow. He drew up plans and we started construction. The crews he hired were professional and on time. I think we started construction in September and Charlie promised we'd be swimming by Christmas. I was skeptical, but we were swimming on Christmas day! I have no complaints whatsoever and they did a great job building our pool! read more

Charles Dennis is a psychopath, liar, and cheat. I can't believe he is actually attacking real costumers who have posted the horrible jobs he has done. Oh by the way the pictures that are showing his "good jobs" are his personal projects that he did for himself and family. This man's license needs to be pulled. If you do sign a contract with him make sure all the contractors licenses are the same on each document and sign a mechanics release of lien. Protect yourself and document document document. His communication was always great and he was coming to our house daily to make sure the job was going smoothly. I would give him more stars if possible and highly recommended him. Terrible customer service and follow up. Promised Pool would be done in 2 weeks, took 2 months, non-responsive. When project was finished, there were some items that needed repair and 4 months later, then vendor is dodging calls-I had to call him from different phones to get an answer and the response was, "Oh, ok, I'm going right now" never shows, this has been the conversation at lease 4 times. read more

Last summer we had Charlie Dennis of Swan Pools make us are dream pool and back yard. All of his subcontractors worked great with one another, no laps in time. Our pool was to be done at the end of August but got done by mid August. It was great to be able to swim in are beautiful pool before the kids had to go back to school.
