Would just like to add that I would avoid getting a membership at Sweathouz at all costs. I decided to try out the 4x monthly membership due to it being the least expensive way to book sauna and cold plunge appointments. I intended to go to Sweathouz through ski season and cancel once I was not skiing as frequently, so at the end of March, I called and asked to cancel, as the app does not give you the ability to initiate the process (the app is pretty terrible across the board). I was texted a cancellation form that I completed and submitted. The next day, I received notice via email that my cancellation "request" had been submitted, and that the manager of my location would need to approve it. I had no idea that I had to *ask* to cancel my membership. 5 days later, after hearing nothing, I called and asked for an update. I was told that no manager was in, but that he worked from home and the woman I spoke to would ask him to look into the issue. I heard nothing, so tried calling back later on and had to leave a message, which was never returned. I had an appointment scheduled for the next day, so was thankfully able to talk to a manager about it, who saw no record on my account of the cancellation request (the cancellation confirmation email had my location's email cc'd). Sweathouz has a 30-day cancellation notice period (something I find ridiculous and scummy), and I couldn't help but feel like they were stalling to confirm my cancellation so that they could get another membership fee from me. The manager confirmed that my membership would be cancelled, and that I would be charged another month, but I never received confirmation in writing that this was the case. This was after I ran into issues just trying to get a PDF of my membership invoice; there seems to be a grave lack of understanding of how to complete basic admin processes here. Sweathouz advertises that you can use an HSA or FSA to pay for your membership, but then they 1) don't allow you to access your invoices in the app, and 2) seem to make it difficult for even the employees to simply email an invoice. I spoke to 3 different people before finally getting my invoice emailed to me. read more

From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Pat, I had a fantastic visit. I immediately noted that spa smell, you know essential oils and clean, love it. I was not rushed at all, and walked through each part of the experience since it was my first time there. You have a private room with your infrared sauna and vitamin c shower, there are towels for you and other essentials. Perfect, and cozy. If you'd like there is television with streaming services - I opted to just relax with soft melodies over the speakers inside the sauna. There is a cold plunge option as well as a beauty bar, & water bottle filling station. The only thing I'd prefer - is more space I like to lay down & couldn't do that without bending my knees (I'm 5'6) That would not discourage me from returning!! I'm surprised at how many good reviews I saw here. It could be that the website was just recently updated and that's why my experience was less than great. I will say that it is clean and comfortable but it wasn't what was advertised. The website clearly says that you'll be able to alternate between a cold plunge and the sauna. That is definitely not the case. I was told that I would have 45 minutes in the sauna and then 15 minutes afterwards for the cold plunge. Not sure what the point of that is - for me I like alternating between cold and hot. Also, I turned the temperature as high as it would go as the heat shut off after 10 minutes. The temperature said 160 degrees which is OK but it didn't reach that point until after 30 minutes. I will say that it was clean and everyone was friendly. If the website was more accurate about what to expect I would have had a better experience. read more

Buyer beware-- make sure you review your receipt and know what you're actually getting charged. Wish we had done that!!! Looking back, we have actually even charged more than double what we had thought. Make sure you ask for terms in writing if that's a concern for you! The verbal description of how/what we were getting charged was quite misleading. Enjoyable experience otherwise but the hospitality didn't not last beyond our first visit. Very clean facility and easy to get a sauna appointment as there are plenty of sauna suites. There is one cold plunge suite, and one hydromassage room. So those can be harder to schedule at times. Each suite has a shower in it, with shampoo/conditioner, body & face wash, plus plenty of towels. There is an area at the back, which isn't for dressing but more for hair and makeup, as it's public and people are walking thru. Big mirror, Dyson hairdryers, and a red-light therapy box to sit in front of. The front desk staff have all been lovely and helpful on my visits. The biggest downside I've found, is if I'm doing a cold plunge and sauna on the same visit. I have to get dressed to switch rooms. Or put a swimsuit on and wrap a towel around myself. That's a bit of a pain but manageable if you know. Pricing is kind of steep too, though I got a membership early on when they had some deals. read more

Whoo-hoo! I feel like a million bucks! I signed up for the introductory special, which is a great deal. Pat was working there, and he was very helpful and friendly, gave a great explanation of all the procedures and options, and never once pushed me to buy anything other than what I came in for. The place was spotlessly clean... you get your own private sauna and shower room, and they have thought of everything: There are different colored lights for different experiences, a TV, spa music, internet connection, a little cubby in the sauna so your phone won't get overheated if you bring it in there, makeup remover, shower caps and hair ties, deodorant, Vitamin C in the shower water, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, and a lovely cold cloth infused with your choice of aromatherapy. The only thing you need to bring is moisturizer, sunscreen, and a water bottle. I love saunas, but this was my first infrared sauna, and I wasn't sure what to expect compared to a regular Finnish sauna. Other than the fact that you can't pour water on rocks, it felt very similar - toasty warm and comforting. I would say I actually sweated a lot more in the infrared, and the bench and floor wasn't burning hot to the touch like a Finnish sauna. I did a long session, cool shower, then a short session and another shower. I felt great, but there was more to come! I chose the recovery room over the cold plunge, and had a 25-minute hydro-massage with red-light therapy. Then I spent a little time in the back sprucing myself up. They have hair dryers including a diffuser for wavy/curly girls, a curling iron, and another red light device out there. I love that it was clean, quiet, and private so I could really relax, meditate, and come out refreshed and renewed. I look forward to going again! read more

Just left my first ever infrared sauna experience and it was delightful! I was in town visiting a friend who frequents infrared and last time she too was in town came to this location and really enjoyed it! From my experience of walking in Pat was lovely! He had a great attitude, super friendly and welcoming! Since it was my first time he walked me through everything as well as asking if I had any questions! There's also an option for texting the front desk while inside the booth if you need anything. With it being my first visit a cold plunge is also included but I opted to pass as it's cold outside and I'm not use to Portland cold weather! I've been truly disappointed with SweatHouz's customer experience during recent visits, especially from a cleanliness standpoint - sauna rooms with hair on the benches and floors, dirty floors in the hallways and bathroom, dirty toilets, and the showers not draining well. This is true even early/mid day. This simply isn't sustainable. Similar to someone else's review, I also find it beyond frustrating that it's impossible to get anyone to pick up the phone to answer questions or assist with appointments. I sincerely hope the team will elevate their game soon so I don't need to go elsewhere. I'll enjoy writing positive reviews if they do. read more

To start, the person I spoke with on the phone when booking, admitted they had no idea what I was referring to as far as options because they "honestly haven't looked at the website since the interview"... Upon arrival, only 1/2 the facility seems to be in working order or have finished rooms. I was also placed in a lawn chair in a makeshift storage room to do the compression boots after my cold plunge, which ended up being a tripping hazard. I travel for work and was looking for a studio that provided contrast therapy that was similar to home! I definitely found it at SweatHouz Lake Oswego! The studio was very clean and well organized! The staff was very personable, helpful, and answered all my questions! Shout out to Will! Such an awesome person at the studio! The water dispenser was in an ideal spot so if I needed it, it was nearby and it was easy to use! I'll be coming back to this spot as one of my spots during my work travel! So gonna keep this short and sweet. Went in for the intro. Guy seemed like he didn't know which way was which. Fine whatever show me the room. Did not explain the intro with the cold plunge etc. Overall this place would be 10000% better if they had the cold plunge and sauna in the same room, so you can alternate between the two. Good concept but the overall implementation leave a lot to be desired. Fair value for the intro price however. Not sure I'll be back, the people running it didn't seem to know what the hell they were doing. read more

Terrible service - lost me as a customer and any referrals. Cannot get ahold of their office. They do not return voicemails and do not respond to texts, which is the only method of communication. As others have mentioned, they will charge you for services you did not have. Very poor customer service for the price - really hope the owners read this and improve to get repeating customers which is how a business succeeds. read more

Overall, the amenities and facilities is fine. Agreed with other reviewers that cleanliness can be improved. The impetus to emerge from a ~10+ years hiatus from writing yelp reviews is for the cold customer service and misleading terms of membership. Besides the occasional miscommunication/expectation about when and where we could head to after we're done with the sauna, which is forgivable b/c hey...we all have moments, but the membership terms were misrepresented and misleading! If you're considering membership - PLEASE NOTE - it's not really a 30 day cancellation notice. Once you provide a 30 day notice, you'll be charged once again after that 30 day period. So it's really a 60 day notice. Also note that downgrading membership will get you in a new contract with a new min of 2 months. I bought a membership as a trial period and was specifically told there was a 2 month minimum with a 30 day cancellation notice, and I was able to downgrade membership after 30 days. Fair enough - I'll start with unlimited to see how I can incorporate this into my life, then downgrade once I get a better feel for adding this in the routine. I'm thinking that after the first month, I'll submit cancellation notice and get out of it at the 2 month mark - WRONG. Turns out once you submit your cancellation notice, you'll be charged once again at the end of that 30 days, effectively giving you another 30 days membership after that (60 days total). This is really a 60 day cancellation notice. Well, shit. So if I'm in for another 2 months (3 months total) as opposed to the original 2 months total, then I should try and downgrade to a package that is better for me and to save money, right? NOPE. Downgrading will get you in a new contract for another 2 months. I've asked to see the policies that I've signed off on, and the only thing I see is about the 30 day cancellation period, which is actually really 60 days. Nothing about a 2 month min, although if you think about the cancellation policy...there's your 2 month min. So like, if you only want to try this out for 2 months, you would need to cancel at the same time you sign on, FYI. And nothing about how downgrading will lock you in for another 2 months. I've expressed disappointment and how the wrong expectations for the terms were set, but I get the sense they do not care. Ultimately, it's my fault for just taking the verbal terms as truth and not reading the policy carefully. But the lack of responsibility for the misrepresentation and care for customer satisfaction is astounding. Let my story be a lesson to someone out there! read more

I have called several times with no answer. I canceled my appointment with them I had scheduled in the app. I was sent an email directing me to call to confirm cancellation. I responded to the email that "no one is ever available to answer my call." I got a phone call almost immediately from an extremely rude individual working on 4/22 at 9:30 am. It was immediate attitude about how there's no one answering because there's just so much cleaning that goes on. While I appreciate a clean space as a consumer, I am forever turned off by the attitude I was given for no reason. Hire someone to answer the phones and replace the one complaining about cleaning. This place was really great the first couple of times I visited. The first visit, a few months ago, I went with a friend and Sweathouz was really pushing their packages because they had just opened. They said we could even share a package- which was an easy yes. Today I went in, and the gal at the front desk was very rude. She said "we don't do that". Well, that's not what we were told. That's called "bait and switch"- not good! This person really needs to work on their customer service. I would have happily paid for my visit today, if she hadn't been so rude and demeaning. She was not one of the friendly, welcoming people we met at our first visit- she should have offered to check with her manager and offered to follow up. Nice spot (with some caveats!) but overall the saunas are very clean and they have a few thoughtful touches throughout the process (hair ties, face towel, etc). The downsides: - Pushy with memberships and pricing is 10-20% too high. - If you prefer to use the cold plunge in a hot cold cycle that isn't really an option, you have to complete your sauna time and then get dressed to move over to the cold plunge specific room. - Cold plunge was very cold but often had a thick layer of soapy foam in it. Nice addition to the area, but in the end for our needs the membership fell a little short. read more

Loved it! You walk in, pick out the scent of your cold compress (citrus, eucalyptus, lavender) and then head to your private suite. There, you pick out a color you'd like for your time in the infrared sauna (some are energizing, some are more for recover) and you head in! Saunas have Bluetooth capability so you can listen to your Spotify or login to Hulu/Netflix and watch something to pass the time. Temp is customizable. I've been a member for almost 2 years now. Back when Suzanne worked here everything was very clean. Over the last year there's been a steady decline in cleanliness. The bathroom is always dirty. The private sauna rooms have greatly declined as far as cleanliness goes and the shower drains are always clogged. The garbages are rarely dumped, there's dirt in the corners of the room and beside the bench legs, and hair left in the drain. Upon entering the business the floors are dirty, dust on the window sills and the recovery room garbage can is always overflowing. I frequently see staff 3 deep hanging out at the front desk doing nothing while there are rooms to clean. I really like the manager but wish they sent out customer surveys so that you could let them know how they are doing. The afternoon crew seems to have a problem keeping schedule with the recovery room as well. I really like the way I feel after a sweat session and hydro massage but I'm not keen on how dirty it is. They don't clean or disinfect the recovery room after each client and lately every time I go into a private sauna suite there's still hair and debris on the floor as well as water. I've noticed pink mold forming on the bottom of the shower tiles and outside the shower. I'm debating on whether I am going to keep going. I hope they see this review and make some changes before I do. I really wish cleanliness was a much higher priority here. read more

It's very frustrating trying to get in touch with anyone via phone. They never answer their phone . I was supposed to get a discount for being first responder , but they always forgot to apply it . I canceled my membership but they still charged me the next month. I tried to get in touch with them but again they don't answer the phone and they have an AI assistant text you who is useless for my problem. I ended up contacting my credit card company. As far as cleanness, They can do better. I took a shower after the sauna and there was hair left in the drain and a chunk of hair on the floor by the wall. Really great place to relax and get rid of toxins. It's really nice inside the rooms where the saunas are located . Relaxing music and light therapy are in while having a infrared sauna. They even give you a cold towel with essential oils for you to cool down with while in the sauna. read more

The saunas here are impeccably clean and the temperature is fully changeable so you can adjust it for your level of comfort. I normally stay in the sauna for 45 minutes. The cold shower after is invigorating and helps cool me down. read more
