Refusing to call pharmacy, and said "We can all hear him screaming..trust me". There were three nurses sitting at the nurses station periodically giggling and looking at their phones when my wife made the request. However the doctor- Casey M Krebs was by far the worst part of my visit. She seemed incapable of creating a care plan and didn't show any urgency. She seemed more focused on pacifying us for the moment and quickly leaving the room than actually helping us understand our options or initiating the process of me transferring to a hospital with urology. We were still asking her questions as she was trying to close the door and leave. It was obvious she did not like it when my wife asked any questions on my behalf, and completely disregarded her concern that the CT results showed severe hydronephrosis. The doctor said "That is not the focus. Im not concerned about his hydronephrosis, Im concerned about his kidney stones." I got such poor care that I decided to leave AMA while still in severe pain and drive to Swedish Edmonds, which was the best decision I made that day. To be honest I'm not sure the staff at Mill Creek even knew the process of transferring me, let alone doing it quickly. Once I arrived at Edmonds they took my case seriously from the start, scheduling me for emergency surgery the next day to remove the obstructive stone. My pain was well managed and my whole care team was incredibly skilled and empathetic. I am still completely disheartened with my experience at Mill Creek and would advise ANYONE considering it to go anywhere else.

It looked like a scam, so I ignored it, being sure to login to MyChart each time to confirm I didn't have an outstanding bill. Months later, I receive a notice from Puget Sound Collections that the portion of my bill from Evergreen Emergency Services had been turned over to collections for non-payment. I had no idea I had an outstanding balance. Nothing on MyChart and my insurance had no record of it. I receive paper bills from Evergreen, so I know I didn't check a box allowing a text bill. Evergreen Medical Center should do a complete review of its contracts with emergency physicians and their billing practices. There's no telling how many people have had similar experiences.

The administrative side not so much. I had to submit claim forms cz this is job related and nobody wants to take responsibility for filling the forms out so I can submit them to the State. They require a MD signature and other than the procedures they did I have not personally seen an actual MD here in my hospital room. When I ask questions I get the run around. I don't want to take away from the great work the RN's do here. They are the backbone of this place and it would fall apart without them.

Let's start by myself being questioned why we were at "this" ER, instead of an ER that we prior visited earlier in the day... well this ER was closer to our home, we needed immediate medical attention, it was getting late and the first discharge paperwork stated to return to ER immediately if having problems.... Overall Why does it matter?... I'm in the middle of trying to get care for my wife who has extremely complex and acute conditions and we were disrespected at every step of our visit. I took us to what a thought was a professional medical facility with professionally trained medical staff that respected patients and took their jobs seriously. We were viewed as drug-seeking from what I can tell, as that could be the only explanation for the treatment we have received, and that is just unacceptable. The team did not listen to me, the caregiver of the patient, and against my direction made numerous mistakes that led to further patient harm and distress. Starting with in the waiting room, my wife had to be assisted to a recovery position on the floor so she did not fall out of her wheelchair due to active seizures - staff approached us and said we could not be on the floor and she had to get up. At this time my wife was in the middle of seizures, unable to communicate, understand, or control her own body. I had to argue for them to even listen and they left, clearly frustrated - but not offering any help. Later the same nurse came out saying they had a bed - my wife was still on the floor and unable to utilize her strength to move herself. The care staff then asked, "what do you want us to do?" I thought that hospital staff are trained to help patients off the floor from falls and etc, so I literally said, "are you not trained to help a patient off the floor?". After they finally sent out staff to assist me in picking my wife up to get her to the room, they literally asked me to open their medical cabinet to grab IV and blood draw equipment - I am not a medical staff at UW - that is totally unacceptable - again! What procedures are in place to ensure these numerous mistakes are not made over and over? It is a harm to patients, patient families, and the community. It's crazy how those most vulnerable and dependent upon intensive medical care, are treated the worst by the medical staff they rely upon. One of the first things I said is to not use her left arm due to the series of conditions that will make it difficult, if not impossible to get a line. Well you can clearly see they did not listen and blew her vein out. We followed up with our primary doctor at UW who was horrified at the care we received. Let's just end with although this is the closest ED to our home we will take the risk and drive to the next one. We have reached out to patient relations numerous times with no response. It seems that they are more concerned about google reviews here than good patient practices and may finally get back to us here?????????

When you are required to have a primary care physician you expect to develop a relationship with that caregiver and seek them out, specifically, for your medical needs. My first visit took weeks to get. Swollen legs, ankles numbness and a concern about deep vein thrombosis and it was still weeks. My care was great and loved the care provider. But every time I have had an acute situation since, the soonest they will schedule is 3 weeks out. When I complain they tell me to go to urgent care or the ER. NO!!! I have a specific care provider and insurance for a reason. I expect a day to 3 days wait, but if you ever need to be seen quickly, there quickly is a minimum of 9-10 days. Expect to use your local ER and pay that bill. This is terrible care IMO. So sick of this healthcare system. Might add that I am paying $1300 a month for this insurance. Super annoyed. Quit booking these doctors so tightly that there's no room for acute patients. There are plenty of people that need to be seen sooner. And want to see their own doctor, not a new stranger.

My check in was swift and easy as I did most of my Pre checkin online in My Chart! Takes a little getting used to the site... Everyone I dealt with from checking in, the initial nurse, anesthesiologist, doctor and team of nurses. Good communication for pre procedure as well as post procedure for colonoscopy. Staff took care of me until I was wheeled down to the car in the lobby area. I'm a FaN of Swedish today!!! CON - Albeit...getting appointments can be weeks to months.
