Having my PC physician in the Mill Creek facility is very convenient and they are so easy to contact and so responsive. I like that I can get most of my services in one place. I am extremely satisfied with Swedish in Mill Creek and love their use of the MyChart app. Thanks Swedish!! read more

The pain turned out to be a shingles outbreak. Extremely painful!! I contacted the Swedish Customer Service number and voiced my concerns. The woman told me to give her a few days to look into this. A few weeks later she sent me a letter in the mail stating that Erin had issued a complaint about me, because I was being too difficult for her to handle, and that my complaint was being closed because she needed to close the file, it had been open for too long. How I see it is that this hospital doesn't give a rip about their patients, doesn't care if their staff is cruel, mean and abusive to their patients and when called out on it, they blame the patient! I have no respect for Swedish hospitals! read more

This isn't an urgent care center it is a free standing ER and its costs are as high as if you went to the emergency room. The building is very nice as is the brand new equipment but you are going to pay for it. If you don't care cause you have insurance and then wonder why your insurance goes up next year.. this is why.. Unlike an actual ER though it isn't attached to a hospital so if you do have anything that requires and admission you will have to be transferred via an ambulance to Swedish downtown. read more

Doctors are great! Their billing department is garbage. Sent a bill to collections on 10/27 when I was assured on 11/9 it hadn't been sent.

Came in with a migraine, dehydrated, and high blood pressure. Gave me one bag of fluids and sent me home with a pain level of 8. My blood pressure was 184/124 but they released me anyway. They've always been wonderful when I've been there but i will never ever go back there after tonight and I'll let everyone that i know to stay away as well. Big fat fail. read more

It is no wonder they have only a two and a half star rating. I have always loved Swedish First Hill. My child, my sister's children and several friends have had kids there. The Mill Creek campus however was more than disappointing. I had to take my daughter to their ED in the middle of the night with severe stomach pains and awful vomiting. While there I was told it was most likely the flu, I was being neurotic, and basically wasting their time. We were discharged after a couple hours and my daughter was shot with pain killers and told if it increased in pain, take more Tylenol. There was no talk of ultrasound or any other diagnostics after being unable to get blood, or a urine sample. We were just let go. Later that day their meds wore off, and she was back at it again. I consulted her regular doctor and we ended up in Children's. They found some serious issues for which she is having three separate surgical procedures over the next month to fix. If Swedish had listen to me as Mom, trusted that I knew there was something serious happening, and performed just a basic ultrasound we would have seen this and not gone hospital hopping. So frustrated with them, in the next emergency I will never even consider this place again no matter how close!!! read more

May 29, 2021 I was brought to Swedish Emergency Department by EMS. I was in excruciating pain and could barely speak. If I had a choice I would have asked to go to a different ER just because I haven't had the best care in the past to similar issues.  The Nurse was not kind at all. The moment I was brought in the nurse raised her voice at me trying to get me to talk. She kept on saying "ma'am what did you take". I was in so much pain I wasn't able to talk which caused her to just speak louder. The doctor initially was in the room when I was brought in. He had a notepad and asked me a couple questions about my medical history. He said he was going to look at my chart, do some research and then he would be back ( I never saw him after that). Both him and his nurse left the room. My sister followed the ambulance to the Emergency department and they wouldn't let her in the room with me. They told her that she needed to go home and I can call her when I'm discharged. She gave the front desk my phone and the receptionist brought me my phone. I did ask where my sister was when she handed me the phone and she ignored me and walked out the room. I was left in my room in so much pain and wet clothing.  The Nurse came in about 30 minutes later and did not speak a word to me. She started to check my vitals. I was still in the fetal position on my bed from the pain. I told her I had to go to the bathroom. She told me it was right behind me. I still couldn't move from the pain and I soiled myself. The Nurse grabbed an adult diaper and wipes and put them on my bed then left the room. I walked to the restroom that was located in my room with my soiled pants. I cleaned myself up, threw my pants away and walked back into my room a little embarrassed about what I just did. I still at this point wasn't given a gown. I crawled back to my bed with my wet tshirt and an adult diaper. Over an hour after being in the ER and telling them my pain was 9/10, the nurse finally came in and gave me something to help with my stomach. It was then that I asked her for a gown since my shirt was wet, I was freezing and had no pants. She put one on the bed and left. Once again she did not tell me what the doctor was doing or if we had a plan. No one communicated anything to me. I was not told anything. They wouldn't even tell me what my vitals were when they took them. I laid in my room crying and humiliated at this point. The nurse came in and  discharged me a little after this. I was kind of confused. I never saw the doctor, no one told me anything. She just had discharge papers and told me to call from someone to come get me. I kept telling myself- maybe they are just busy. But I walked out of my room and saw nothing but nurses chatting and laughing near their computers. No one said anything to me when I walked out. In fact I was just embarrassed and humiliated knowing I soiled myself and was treated the way I was. I am not one to complain. Like I said this isn't the first bad experience I have had here at Swedish Mill Creek ER. But I have never felt so ashamed and stupid for going into the ER. I try my best not to go to the ER because I'm scared of being treated like this. I am 27 years old and I think they don't take me seriously. I have dealt with this for over 10 years now. I usually try to fight through my pain. But I went to the Urgent care earlier that day and they told me if I showed certain symptoms and the pain was worse to go to the ER. That is the only reason my sister called 911 and I was taken to the ER.  My experience with Swedish Mill Creek ER has humiliated me and now I am scared to go seek help. I am extremely disappointed with the care I received and will tell everyone to not use this ER. They were more concerned about getting my signature so I'm financially liable and putting a mask on my face.  My nurse couldn't even help me to the restroom. These medical professionals should reconsider their professions if this is how they treat people. read more

About 5 years ago I went to this hospital because I was having heart palpitations. I explained that I had a panic disorder, trying to be honest with them, but told them this did not feel the same. They then asked me thought they should do. I said i did not know, because I was not a doctor. They then gave me a drug test. Well after being treated like I was a drug addict I told them I wanted to leave. They released me and the discharge paper said that I was agitated. I scheduled a doctor's appointment with my normal doctor and told her what happened. She could not believe how I was treated. She gave me an ECG and put me on a beta blocker. On 12-8-18 I had a massive heart attack at the age of 42. I was treated at Providence on Colby and they save my life, along with the Everett Fire Department. I am just writing this review to show that not everyone is there for drugs. read more

Just had to get a blood draw, which is usually a huge ordeal for me complete with collapsed veins and lots of tears. I praise the gal with the magic touch (I believe her name was Polly, but it could have been Pauline). She got it done in one fell swoop, and she was so sweet. She put up with my fears like a champ. My experience overall was great. The team in the back were attentive and great listeners. My husband, daughter and I all went together and were all taken care together at the same time and it didn't take long at all. We went in around 2pm on a Friday. I want to like this place but I can't. The cold, short tempered nurse at the front desk to the uncaring doc is frustrating. It took two trips to have kidney stones diagnosed. The loud, unprofessional laughter coming from the internal nurses station was difficult for my exhausted, pain riddled husband to deal with. read more

My mother had to be taken by paramedics to this emergency room which is close to the retirement facility that they live. Upon arriving there was the coldest nurse I have ever come across and I work in the healthcare field for many years and she was cold never spoke disappeared basically was pretty rude I think that really if this is the number one medical facility that they should hire number one staff this place today did not have it. As I have stated when my mother came in and she was brought it by the paramedics when we were discharged I had to go to the doctor and ask if we could have a wheelchair to take her to the car this is usually standard in an emergency room but apparently this place doesn't go by that so we got the wheelchair got them in the car and we went home finally after 4 hours. And great shout out to the person who did bring my mom out to the car he was the nicest experience of the whole day so sometimes when you're making the big bucks should look at the guy who doesn't make the big bucks cuz they're usually the best at what they do attention read more

I was referred here to pick up equipment for a take home sleep study. I noticed during the night, there seemed to be an issue with the equipment, if I moved in a certain position. I made sure to jot that down on my paperwork to turn back in, with the equipment, the following morning. When picking up the equipment; I'm not clear, and there was no explanation on why my driver's license needed to be held onto for the duration of my appointment. I've never had a check in anywhere, that needed it for that long. Never heard anything back about the potential malfunctioning equipment; but I did hear back that the results did not show that I have sleep apnea. However, they wanted to send me to Providence for an overnight sleep study. I received a bill for $188.80; after insurance. Now - if the equipment and process for take home, has been deemed acceptable to do this, why would it be necessary to send me to an additional inpatient study, and charge me even MORE money? If the take home equipment and process is that sketchy to them, that they don't trust the results, then don't offer the process and equipment. I also received no follow up, or communication from the doctor who referred me for the sleep study. Needless to say, when Providence called me to set up the appointment; I declined to proceed further with the diagnoses. Swedish as a whole, as gone down hill; this location. As a side note; I'm not overly impressed with the Everett Clinic either, where I was referred from. Our healthcare system desperately needs an overhaul. read more

This is the worst Emergency Room ever! After being treated like a P.O.S. just because it says I "use to be in active addiction" this place wouldn't even give me the time of day or even Tylenol. I left their ER and the next day wound up in a REAL emergency room 3 hours away from death by blood poisoning and MRSA on my spine so big that I am paralyzed. I WALKED OUT OF THIS HOSPITAL. I moved a year and a half ago to the area and had my files moved from Swedish West Seattle. My 3 children had been with SWS for 12 years and we have always been happy. Our experience with Swedish Mill Creek is completely different. I am shocked that they are the same company and I'm not surprised that they never seem to have many patients. The facility is huge, but there's not many people whenever I visit. One factor that I'm unhappy with is the phone system. The main primary care line always goes to voicemail, no matter when I call. Making an appointment is complicated by having to wait for them to call you back. Customer service: the receptionists are split up for each doctor, so one can't help with making appointments with multiple physicians. You have to be transferred and they are all hard to get ahold of because the main line goes directly to VM. Refilling prescriptions is complicated, because if your physician is out, they don't ask their nurses or doctors that are working. They told me today that because my doctor is not in, there is no guarantee that my epi-pen and inhaler (life saving prescriptions BTW) can be refilled until my doctor comes in. I need it in 2 days, and the rude receptionist says that there's no guarantees and that she will not notify me as to whether I will get it or not by the time I need it. A prescription that I've been refilling for 10 years. Seriously, a huge doctors office full of nurses and Doctors should be able to do it. The excuse is that they are short staffed. The last reason is billing. Not good. So I'm switching to another place. I do not recommend this place. read more

I started hemorrhaging post-surgery and my husband rushed me here. I was back and seen by the MD and Nurse within 5 minutes. After multiple attempts to control the bleeding, it was decided I was to be transferred to my surgeon for emergency surgery. They stabilized me and prepped me for an Ambulance ride to my surgeon. I can't remember the names of the MD and Nurse, but they were fantastic and really helped me to stay calm in a really scary situation. I felt they had my best interests in mind with each decision that was made. Great experience despite the circumstances! read more

I took my 4 day old daughter in for what I thought was an inner ear infection. Everyone there was very friendly and prompt. I found out it wasn't an ear infection.. And its more than likely completely normal crying... Imagine a New Mom assuming the worst. But we went in to a room right when we walked in... No waiting room bs. I sent a complaint to Swedish about my care. They sent a letter saying the medical director explained opiates can cause addiction and rebound migraines. They didn't even hear my whole complaint or care at all! I responded "That's understandable. I never asked for narcotics. What does the medical director say about Dr.Kwun being rude, showing no compassion and kicking out a patient without proper care? This is the first time I ever been to an ER where I didn't receive an I.V, meds to make my nausea go away which resulted in me getting worse" I started a twitter account to share how I was treated just because of their response. read more

I have come to this ER many times. Tonight I was seen by Dr. Osnis for sever back pain. She was fantastic and very through on getting all the information and taking tests. The nurse Tabitha was amazing and so attentive, kind, and gentle. Tabitha did wonderful at her job and I am thankful for her kindness and understanding nature. I will only use Swedish in the future. This is the worst care I have ever received. I was thrashing around to get comfortable when I fell off the bed. I asked the nurse for an incident report and she said that housekeeping documented me climbing on the floor and laying down. This is such b******* I will never return there. The bed rails were not up I did not have a blanket I had no pillow I had no call light and they want to blame it on me. And the nurse gives me attitude. The primary care docs at Swedish found congestive heart failure that had been slowing me down all that time. Now it is as if I was 20 years younger. I could not speak higher for the Swedish ER Mill Creek Campus. Everyone we dealt with was helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. We took my son in for stitches on a Monday night and virtually no wait time. The nurses were kind & praised our son for his bravery. When he busted a stitch later in the week, I called the ER back to see if we needed to come back in. The dr. I talked to calmed my nerves & answered all my questions. We will definitely be using this ER again for future emergencies. read more

This place feels more like a prison than a clinic. Go ahead, complain, they love it! It lets them do the following three things: they don't take you seriously; they make excuses; and they gang up on you! I've gotten some reasonable medical treatments here (PT Evan Olson is great), but as a person, they treat you like crap. They are poor communicators and they keep you in the dark. Most clinics have poor phone service, but Swedish Mill Creek is by far the worst that I've ever experienced. read more

This review is for their lab on the 2nd floor. Usually they do a fine job of drawing my blood, but I did have a problem when a lab student attempted it. She could not get the blood to flow well, and kept digging around with an 18 gauge needle, trying to get the vein. It was extremely painful, and I wanted her to just try again in a different spot rather than keep stabbing around. At which point, the licensed lab tech supervising her barked at me "We will assess that and decide if it needs to be repositioned." Excuse me, it is my arm, I'm not blind, I can see the blood isn't flowing and aside from that I am an RN who draws blood / starts IVs and there's no excuse for continuing to dig around when the patient asks you to stop. The trainee did finally get some blood into the tube, but it went very slow and then it came back with my first ever abnormal CBC. When you have this much difficulty getting a lab, often times it won't run properly. So I have to return, get my labs drawn again, and this time - surprise surprise - my CBC is just fine. I suspected the abnormal result from the first draw was due to being hemolyzed, the lab tech said CBCs don't show a bad result from being hemolyzed - which is completely false. So I call back 3 times, get the run around talking to different supervisors, and finally get one who says she will have to run this by a hematologist. Honestly. She does, and calls me back a week later to say that they didn't do anything wrong, but the MD said it's possible that the blood filling the tube too slowly gave a slightly altered result. AND that they would not bill me for the bad draw. I didn't get her name. Huge mistake on my part, to trust that they would take care of it. You guessed it, they billed me for both draws. I called to remind them that the supervisor had checked with their hematologist and that this first draw would not be billed. "Oh, who was that? Did you get her name?" I didn't, but I told them it was a supervisor who had an Eastern European accent. Apparently no one had any idea who that could be. She said she would look into it, and then call me back. No one did. They did wait 3 months, and then billed it again. I guess they thought I would forget if they let the bill cool down a while. The lab tech who was condescending is usually very pleasant, and does a great job of drawing blood. But look out if you get a trainee, or if there are any issues - I've wasted a lot of time & grief on their mistake - and they won't take it off your bill even when the mistake is theirs. read more

I have been getting physical therapy treatment at Swedish Hospital facility in Mill Creek for a year. The therapists I have seen have all been first rate and if I were rating their quality my rating would be 4.5 or 5. Unfortunately, however, they have the misfortune to work for an organization that gives low priority to the needs of patients, and deserves 0 (zero) stars. The latest example that I have encountered concerns the willingness of Swedish Hospital to cancel appointments they make. When my back started acting up again at the end of May, I called and made an appointment for the first available date, which turned out to be for June 29th. That is a long time to wait in the face of significant pain, but there is a shortage of health professionals in Seattle area, and long waits for non-emergency care are understandable. But then yesterday, (June 21) I received call informing me that therapists were not available on the 29th and I needed to reschedule. and the first available date was July 13th. And the only reason that date was available was that I had already scheduled it as a follow-up. When I asked why noone was available on the 29th, it became clear that the reason was that something else had come up and some kind of meeting or training session had been scheduled by the Hospital. In other words, Swedish Hospital is perfectly happy to impose long delays in delivering health care to patients for administrative reasons, and one cannot depend on Swedish Hospital to honor the promise implicit in the act of making an appointment. What makes this particularly aggravating is that Swedish Hospital goes to great lengths to make sure that no patient ever fails to keep an appointment, with all kinds of pesky, annoying reminders by phone, text and email. This, of course, is understandable, since missed appointments waste health care provider's time, which is in short supply. So Swedish is just trying to be efficient, I guess. But their definition of efficient is based on what is easiest for the hospital administrators. In my experience with Swedish over the past year, very little consideration is given to the effects of administrative decisions on patients (or, for that matter, on their employees). A simple additional example that would be amusing if it weren't for its implications, concerns methods for making suggestions or registering complaints. When I encountered problems with the Swedish website, I discovered that the only way to communicate my concerns was to contact my health care provider (rather than a website administrator). This adds to the therapists' workload by asking them to deal with problems that are neither caused by the providers nor relevant to their expertise. read more

I am in shock of this place. I went in as an abuse victim, and told them that from the get go. I needed help and instead I was met with downright mean and vicious BULLYING. They were more concerned with being "right" than helping. They cruelly made sure I KNEW exactly what they thought of my situation and it was clear I was not going to receive any help until I saw it their way. I am appalled at this "hospital." If they had actually stopped talking and arguing with me for 30 seconds I would have had the ability to tell them I was about to be on a mental breakdown. But again, more interested in covering their own ass and being Right. I had notified them immediately I was an abuse victim, and that means I have triggers. It's almost as if they intentionally hit every trigger I had and by the time they were done with me I was contemplating suicide in their parking lot. Either this so called "hospital" is completely incompetent at handling mental problems, or they are just incompetent period. Either way, my self preservation and survival mode kicked in and a hospital is the very LAST place that should happen. read more

Went in with lower right side pain. The ARNP first name Angela that saw me had the WORST bedside manner I have ever experienced. She was rude, condescending, and didn't listen to one word I had to say. She told me that even if they found something on the ultrasound that they are not specialist so they wouldn't do anything for me anyways. It was the worst experience I've had at a drs office. Would not recommend this place to anyone!! If anything is actually wrong with you according to Angela you'll just have to be transferred anyways, no specialist or diagnostic tools in the building. read more

We have had to use this facility for my family a few times. Each time we are able to get in quickly, the facility is very clean and the staff are extremely attentive. We feel lucky to have this location close. Only thing to note is that if you need to be admitted to a hospital, you will have to be moved, as they offer emergency services only. read more

I came in an ambulance, and this was the rudest, least responsive emergency room staff that I have ever encountered. The nurse refused to give me shots in my right arm (I'm left-handed) because she "already put it as left arm in the computer". I was treated for a huge, very deep cut, and she also refused to give me tylenol because she "already checked me out in the computer". So I left with literally no pain medication at all despite 7 shots and 6 stitches, no verbal information on how to care for the wound (just a generic handout), and no information about whether I should return to have the stitches removed or not. She also didn't even tell me that I was checked out, I was just standing in the room waiting to sign papers or something, and she returned a few minutes later and was just like "oh, you need to leave". Just absolutely ridiculously lacking in bedside manner as well as any sort of communication or information. Oh, did I mention that they stitched me up, THEN did x-rays, then decided there was still glass in the cut, so they re-opened the stitches to dig around in the cut. Then they weren't able to find whatever showed up on the x-rays, so they just stitched me back up and told me to see a podiatrist. I also complained that the tendons around the cut were hurting severely when I tried to bend my foot, and that I couldn't put weight on it. She just said, "Well there's no reason for it to hurt there," and walked out of the room, completely dismissive of the pain I reported to her. read more

I was told by my PCP's nurse I had to go to an emergency room to be diagnosed as some of my symptoms could indicate a heart attack so they canceled the appt I had already made to see my pcp. I am 67, low income and repeatedly asked them if I really, truly needed (just about everything) because I was afraid of incurring costs I can't afford - the first nurse said yes, I could decline but the next nurse told me no, I didn't have a choice and she was pushy and controlling. Then she proceeded to stick an iv port into my had which left a huge bruise and was excruciatingly painful. They took tons of blood, put me on a monitor and ordered an xray which I didn't understand but they were on a roll. The so called attending physician was in and out in 2 minutes -I know I will get a huge bill from him not to mention the ridiculous xray. Anyway I am so upset that orders and stuff were done to me that I am positive were unnecessary and I will be months paying it off. Ended up there was nothing wrong with me except for my fibromyalgia pain and nausea. read more

I went to this facility due to concerns about an injury. I was seen by a Physician Assistant. They have it set up so medical service is provided by PA's and Nurse Practioner's that are through an external agency. Not Swedish. There is one Dr from that external agency per shift--pretty casual atmosphere there. My guess is that is the minimum state requirement to call yourself an Emergency Room. People with good reviews either have very good insurance, or they hadn't seen the charges from this facility. It is VERY , VERY EXPENSIVE!!! You'd think you were dying and they revived you, but that wasn't the case and attempts to address concerns I had with the services were ignored---customer service? NO--from start to finish. I will never go there again, nor take anyone there...ever. You have been warned....... read more

-100 would be the rating i would give if possible. this place could of killed my mother 2 nights ago if not for me. my mother calls me late at night saying she thinks she passed out, and can barely remember anything. memory like swiss cheese as she put it. thinking she had a stroke. i have her call 911 for an ambulance and they take her here to this death trap. within 3 hours they are discharging her with a diagnosis of syncope, e.g. fainting... so im thinking great, we will come pick you up no worries, all should be fine.... WRONG. the moment we get there, first thing my mother asks me is and i quote " is my mother dead or alive" grandma died 2 years ago... i know something isnt right, we get her home, she freaks out that her apartment looks different, she doesnt even recall she rearranged everything 6 months ago. i start reading her discharge papers from this death trap, and it says if she is experiencing any of X symptoms to seek immediate medical care, i ask her what symptoms she has, and she had 4 of the 8 things they said were urgent emergencies.. this pice of crap "hospital" discharged her still experiencing what their own discharge papers said could be deadly symptoms..... on top of losing what we estimate now to be like 20-30% of all memory from the last 5 or so years. we asap drove her to northwest hospital by me in seattle and they knew right off the bat this was serious, admitted her, had her with ekg, mri, eeg, and ct scan. thankfully no stroke but her kidneys were failing, and they diagnosed global transient amnesia as well. 2 days later she is still in admitted at northwest and will likely be a few more days... their ER staff were shocked to hear what this place did to her, and relayed some other horror stories they had heard about this place as well. they could not fathom that certified er doctors and nurses could be so ignorant. in short, if you want to die due to complete and total incompetence, go here.. they got you covered. we are contemplating filing a formal complaint with the state right now this was such a massive screw up that almost cost my mother her life. read more

We (unfortunately) visited the Swedish ER in Mill Creek for our third time yesterday, after my youngest son fell out of a tree in our backyard and his neck was in excuciating pain. We were taken back within SECONDS of arrival like our other visits- and were surrounded by no less than three staff members at all times. He was placed in a C-collar within seconds, was taken back for a CT scan within ten mins of our arrival, with the CT being reviewed and results given within 30 minutes of having them completed. On the way out the door, my son was given a Beanie Baby frog for being a tough patient. We have never received less than STELLAR care and service at this facility- and while the costs may be higher, my time is worth $$$. What took 50 minutes at Swedish would have taken 4-5 HOURS minimum at Prov Everett. Highly recommend. read more

I have always been treated really well by them even got calls after a few days by the dr to check on me but the real reason for this review is how they treated my son last night. I had attempted to make my son an appointment with his primary and told for the second time just take him to the walk in clinic so I did, for a toe fungus and ingrown toenail that was really hurting him and the walk in clinic threw antibiotics at us despite the fact that there was no sign of infection and sent us on our way, so I decided to go to this Er and get a second opinion before filling his prescription. I didn't expect treatment same day or anything but maybe a referral to a specialist, however they looked at his toe listened to what I said and instead of agreeing with the other dr and sending me on my way they agreed with me, that antibiotics alone probably wasn't the best and then they shocked me and told me they could treat my sons toe right there, and she was so good with him and patient and gentle while she did what she could to get him out of pain and gave us the referral to a specialist, she also told me once she got his ingrown toenail out that there was absolutely no infection under there so I am definitely glad I went rather than just listening to the first dr!
