What an amzaing job this place did..... I am blown away! I graduated from East in 2003 and this place was just a small whole.in the wall breakfast place as I thought I remembered. Boy was I wrong... The place is huge, it is very clean, lots of happy employees, very busy, fast service, fresh cooked meals, home cooked meals, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They even have thier own bakery in house. I just cant believe it. Not the place I remember coming 15 years ago. I would hear people say we are going there to eat and I never even considerd it because I thought it was a old folks retirement center dining hall. A Swedish pancake house with not a Swedish person in sight. Go figure. We were on a breakfast run - and I picked this place because I like Swedish pancakes. My wife came along because she loves a good breakfast. I ordered their crepes, while she had two eggs over hard, with crepes and sausage. First, the sausage. It was pre-baked, and it appears to have been kept in a warmer. Okay, not good, not good. It was too moist, and it lacked flavor. The crepes themselves were pretty good. My wife enjoyed her dish, also noting the sausage wasn't that good. We were promptly greeted and seated, and the service was pretty decent. The bathrooms were clean and didn't smell bad, however, the location in the corner of the strip center was in need of a good, deep cleaning. You have the usual kitsch around the restaurant. Have met friends here for breakfast and lunch over the years. I usually have the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries and they are good! I am of Swedish American descent if that is of interest. This is a hometown cafe in appearance - not fancy but nice and the service is friendly and good. It is not an ethnically Swedish restaurant if that is important to you - perhaps it was years ago. read more

I guarantee not one of the employees could point to Sweden on a map. Service was mediocre and the food was much worse. Premade sausage, premade eggs very clearly kept in a warmer. I order from out of town every holiday or sick day for my son! He loves all their food esp their crepes as do I! Delivery is prompt, food lasts 2-3 days and is tasteful regardless of warmed up or fresh! Great dependable service!! read more

I tried this place the other day and came back again so quick! The food tastes homemade. The chilaquiles I ordered is just a good as any Chicago restaurants that I enjoy. I tend to visit this place as it's close to home and I'm a sucker for Swedish pancakes. The staff is really friendly. They have really good fried chicken, when they don't cut into the breast to cook it faster. I have, on numerous occasions, asked them not to cut into the breast of the chicken as it dries the breast out and essentially makes it inedible since it becomes really hard. Yet when I pickup my order and get home, I always find that they cut into the breast like I asked them not to do. It's such a shame because like I said, they do have some good fried chicken when cooked properly. For the most part, the food is good and reasonably priced. I may deter from the fried chicken in the future but will definitely return for the Swedish pancakes. read more

We were treated very rudely. We walked in at 3:15 on a Sunday and the only person working there said " ookkaayy?" We're closing at 3:45 I don't want you to have to eat and run. We actually would have eaten fast but after that we left. Will never go black. Will not pay to eat someplace I'm treated rudely. The hours on the door should reflect when they close. Came here with my husband and a little picky 5 year old nephew. Jennifer made sure to accommodate the little one, by making a face out of strawberries for his mickey mouse pancake. It is very convenient for me, which is why I come here, but the food is satisfactory and the prices are reasonable, which is the reason for the four stars. Easy to find, easy parking. We had Swedish waffles which are waffles with toppings such as walnuts and banana slices, or apple and cinnamon, along with syrup. There are lots of other topping choices too. I also had scrambled eggs and hash browns, Nothing wrong with them, they were good and quick. The waitress was very attentive. Not I expected when I came in, the staff were not very welcoming. We sat in an empty booth that was old and dingy at least the table was clean but there were food scraps on the seat. I wanted the baked cod but they ran out. And I always order the most expensive in the menu if I come to a restaurant for the first time. But the 10 oz rib eye with mushroom dinner was at most a 7 oz without mushrooms. So I thought she might have made a mistake. I did not eat it and waited to talk to the waitress about it and took 10 mins before she came. I asked her if she got my order right and but she just made an excuse about the size of the steak and that she will tell the kitchen about the mushroom missing. This was sad. I did not even mind that she forgot the lingonberry that I asked for my pancakes. I think that will be the last time I go there. First impressions lasts for me. I wished that if they did business like other restaurants do, I could have been a regular customer. As my daughter goes to Boylan and breakfast there would have been a routine when I drive her to school in the morning.
