Amazing service from the start. Just bought a house with 2 heat and glo's fireplaces, with 1 being inoperable. I started off cold calling businesses in the area and was really turned off by their pricing and downright rudeness. This was the completely different for this company. I can't remember the name of the lady that took my call, but super nice and punctual. I was only able to schedule service on Saturday and she was able to accommodate. Kyle, the tech that came out, if I could give greater than 5/5 stars, he would deserve it. He texted to let me know he was on the way, and was right on time. Kyle immediately began work and was able to clean/fix both fireplaces while explaining the intricacies of the system very well. Kyle was also very friendly with my dog, which is a huge plus. I'm leaving 3 stars ... and important to note they did not come out ... this review is in mild disappointment with Sweep Your Chimney's practice (totally within their right to choose to do, but within my right to disagree). I called to ask for an estimate. Definitely a decent sized job for chimney work. The company representative was polite and professional, but informed me there was a $249 fee (reduced to $199 due to special given slow work in summer months) for the tech to come inspect and give an estimate. If I elected to do the work, the $199 would apply to the repair. But they were unable to waive that $199. I have several estimates that were free. Sorry, I don't intend to commit money when still seeking competitive bids. That kind of defeats the purpose. Would have loved to see what your quote was, and you appear to have good feedback. Too bad your business practice prevents me from seeking your offer. For others if you're interested in a bid, they don't do free estimates, a lot of other chimney companies do (Priddy, Chimey Masters, Chelsea's Chimney, Chimney.com) ... The inspection and repair of our chimney and firebox was a great experience from start to finish. The inspection was thorough and the results were explained clearly, including options and pricing for repair. The repairs for the two flues, the cap, crown, damper and firebox were all completed in a single day, which was due to the efficient and hardworking team that barely took a break. The team was respectful and kept the surrounding area clean and orderly, and all were personable and friendly. The lead of the team demonstrated the resulting changes and rightly took pride in their craftsmanship, and the inspector/coordinator returned to ensure that we were happy with the work. This was a well-coordinated project (to include the office staff). In addition to bringing this structure up to code we're now confident that our fireplace/chimney is safer to use. We had a wood stove insert installed by them. The manufacturer they worked with didn't have the insert that we wanted (despite advertising it on the manufacturer's website; this was not SYC's fault), so we had to find our own manufacturing company. Sweep Your Chimney then added this new manufacturer to their portfolio, and everything went very smoothly. The office assistant was very quick to respond whenever we had a question (via email), and was flexible during scheduling---we had to move the date a few times. The 2-person crew arrived very much on time, finished slightly early, and did a good job, including explaining some details to the new wood stove. We just had a new wood burning stove insert installed and the service was exceptional. I had left a message after hours (the only time I had a free minute that day) and Eden called me back the next business day. She followed up again when I couldn't respond due to being in meetings. I appreciate her responsiveness! She was quick to set up a time for an estimate. Jacob came out and gave us a reasonable estimate for what we needed. They were quick to install the stove in a couple of weeks (could have been earlier if our schedule worked!). We are so happy with the results. We moved into our house last year and our 2 gas fireplaces didn't work. We ended up replacing them both because the cost and warranty made that the better value rather than fixing the old units. Unfortunately, we didn't use them too much this year because it wasn't that cold, but they worked great when we did. This year, Kyle came over to do the annual inspection and did a great job explaining everything to me and checking everything. I thought I might have a gas leak in one because I had one last year in the old gas valve of the other. He assured me that it was just the smell of the new fireplace since we still hadn't used it much. Overall, I am very pleased and like all the businesses I keep going back to, they have friendly, professional staff and give you the total cost up front (obviously, if there's additional issues, that can change), so you're not left with hidden or mysterious charges. I made an appointment with them and they were able to come within the week. I thought my fireplace was gas but they let me know it was electric and advised me to what I needed in order to get the fireplace to work. Needed a new remote and battery. Later we were able to discover that the fireplace could be turned on without a new battery or remote directly from the fireplace which we were not told.
