I used UNEEDA many times and was never disappointed. Did great jobs the father and his sons. I see many reviews are unfavorable to Uneeda and I wonder how, why? I had them replace a toilet (excellent), install new HVAC SYSTEM (excellent), remove & install new kitchen sink disposal (excellent). When I moved to new building they contracted UNEEDA then after a while discontinued them to contract with a cheaper company. I miss UNEEDA. read more

Shockingly bad. I requested a simple HVAC tune-up months ago, but was strong-armed into additional services. The contractor all but refused to fulfill my original request unless I purchased the add-ons. So don't be fooled by lower than expected pricing. They also left a huge mess for me to clean up. Fast forward to today and it's my third consecutive day without AC. I called for clarification, and they hung up on me. This is a great company from a perspective of friendliness, expertise and price. However, it seems like they may be a little overwhelmed with customers which can happen to a smaller company. They have some administrative problems in not following up with quotes, bills, returned calls, scheduling, etc. They are again a great company but the husband/wife team just isn't enough to handle their workload. We needed to replace our heating and cooling system. First we decided to get a complimentary quote from a contractor from Costco. Their estimate was $12,400. Next we contacted a competitor who we used for repairs; they quoted $8500. After doing R&D in checkbook, we made an appointment with Uneeda. Their quote was $5,500 with superior units than the ones from Costco's contractor. Uneeda is exceptional in keeping their promise of installing the units at the lower cost, quality of installation and cleanup. As they are so popular in inexpensive, it took them around four weeks from when we signed the contract before they started the work. I've been with UNeeda for my hvac for 7 years starting from installing a new heat pump repairing our furnace and replacing our hot water heater and they've been amazing. Over the July 4th holiday we had a leak in the attic from one of the little condensation pipes and they came out immediately even though I didn't understand how serious it was. We had a scheduled appointment for an estimate in the Spring 2022 that was blown due to no call and they never apologized. I was frustrated and told the co owner his wife I was dissatisfied. I called today to make another appointment and the wife stated " you yelled at me during our last interaction" and we will not do an estimate. I cannot comment on their actual work, because while they came to my house for a visit, I still have yet to receive a estimate/proposal. Other contractors submitted a proposal the next day, but it has been a week and half without anything from Uneeda. I called a few times and left some messages, and once even spoke to person, but I never heard back from them. They have plenty of good reviews (that's why I initially contacted them), so I assume they do good work once they commit to it, but if you don't hear from them for a few days, it seems like they just drop you. I initially had them out to nurse my then-ancient furnace through two more winters. My regular HVAC guy had retired a few years prior, and after some really poor experiences with other companies, I found Steve. We are so impressed with this company. Our boiler and hot water heater stopped working. We called Uneeda based on the feedback in Checkbook Magazine and we were not disappointed. Steve and Ryan diagnosed the problem in the morning, went to buy parts and had the heat working by evening. We also discovered that our hot water heater had sprung a leak and needed to be replaced. Steve and Ryan reorganized their work on Friday and stayed late until the job was completed. I can only say good things about this company. The work was done extremely well, we knew exactly what was needed and what it would cost, and we got good advice. Most of all, I was impressed by their responsiveness. All appointments, arranged by Catherine, were exactly as we expected and they prioritized the work and saved my marriage. I fully endorse Uneeda. I can't say enough good things about Steve (Uneeda's owner). Unlike most other companies, Even if you have to leave a message, they call back within minutes. Steve's wife, Katherine runs the office and is super to deal with. I got five estimates for replacing my hot water heating system and they had the lowest bid and were by far the highest rated in Washington Checkbook. They discussed options and costs in detail. They did the job within a few days and were all masked, etc. After they finished they explained the system workings and some options on settings. Best contractor I've ever dealt with. read more

Uneeda Heating and A/C does great work! Our neighbor recommended Steve and his company - he helped her get her AC fixed over the phone without a service charge. He's very honest and knowledgeable. Steve is busy - that is a good sign. But he'll make every effort to get to your problem in a timely manner. He and his assistant helped install a new multi-stage high efficiency heat pump that will provide electric AC as well as heating when it's above 25 degrees. Once it's below 25, our high efficiency propane furnace will kick in. We expect to save about 50% on propane costs. I asked about going even higher efficiency and Steve was able to explain the tradeoffs in terms of efficiency, cost and payback as well as other things we could do that would be cheaper than buying an even more efficient (and expensive) unit from him. This past Saturday we were having our first family get together since COVID began, including family members in their 80s and 90s. And then Murphy's law....our AC went down on a hot day. I called Katherine and even though she and Steve were out of town, they contacted their employee Rob and had him come out right away. We were so fortunate that the broken part was something Rob had a replacement for right on his truck. Within minutes our AC was working well again. Updating my earlier review. They really do earn five stars. Steve is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He helped us limp along with a 1974 furnace until we could afford to replace it. He helped us pick out an reliable high-efficiency furnace and got the install job done quickly. I hadn't realized just how terrible the old furnace was. It's wonderful to be warm! Also - the people who work with him, from the person who does scheduling to the people who help with installation - are also professional and respectful. At last! This company is outstanding. I don't know the details of the one negative review, but my first interaction with Uneeda Heating & Air Conditioning happened in the "brutal heat" of the summer of 2013 as theirs did. My A/C went out and my regular furnace man came out on a Saturday and did a repair. That repair lasted only 2 days and the A/C went out again. I decided to try a new firm. Uneeda came out within 2 days, made an additional repair and clearly explained why the second repair was necessary. Steve is friendly and informative. He noted I had a very old dehumidifier in my basement and that I might want to consider an new Energy Star-rated one because the older models are very expensive to run. I appreciated this recommendation, especially since he was not going to profit from it at all. Needless to say, Uneeda is my new furnace/AC company and it should be yours too! read more
