Loveeee this place, I mean who couldn't love ice cream, of which theirs is delicious! But even better is the speak easy in the back, you have to go through what looks like a freezer door but it's got this kind of cool retro feel to it once you're back there, and they don't list the ingredients in their cocktails they just want you to enjoy the flavor, which I think is a unique touch and guarantees that the bartenders know their stuff really well. I came for the hidden bar, stayed for the ice cream. I'll honestly say, I'm not the biggest fan of the big Denver tourist trap known as little man ice cream. But this is a gem that doesn't appear to get too crowded. The ice cream tastes fresh and made to perfection. They have all the basic flavors you can expect from an ice cream shop but a healthy mix of some flavors that you don't expect. The ice cream shop itself has tables in it with mini board games you can play with your party, or you can take that ice cream back to the hidden bar...which will also be awarded a 5 star review. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Who would of thought that this ice cream parlor is also a speak easy bar?! Once you walk in - it looks like a typical ice cream shop, sad that i didn't get to try any ice cream, however, they had a unique flavor selection ranging from wine flavored ice cream to apple brittle and nutella! Behind the ice cream, there is a random "freezer" door in the back. Behold! It is the gateway to the speak easy bar, so cool! Cocktails and adult beverages are a bit on a high price point (average was $12) but definitely worth the price and the experience! Will be back for more! read more

Nice layout on this small, but cool ice cream spot. We had the chocolate chip, strawberry cheesecake, and chamomile flavors. The chocolate chip was better than most ice tried before. More flavorful and the actual chocolate chips were delicious. The Chamomile was good and the strawberry cheesecake was even better. read more

Cool spot. Loved the variety of ice cream flavors (the Valrhona (sp?) chocolate was my fave) and loved that they have really tasty creative vegan ice cream options as well! Didn't get to check out the speakeasy in the back ice cream walk-in freezer, but will be back to try that next time! read more

It's hard to decide what's better here-the deliciously unique ice cream flavors or the tasty cocktails in the speakeasy behind the freezer door. Both are inspired by the given season and they've got great variety to satisfy a wide range of taste buds. A couple of my favorites include what was nicknamed "Christmas in July" cocktail(reinforcing my desire to celebrate my favorite holiday all year long) and the Beetnik ice cream(the perfect spicy transition from summer to fall). Lucky for me these tasty treats are right down the street from my place of employment. Yum!! Super cute place with the fun speak easy in the back. No judging when you ask to sample many delish flavors and you get half scoops meaning that those of us with ice cream commitment issues can have two flavors without overeating ice cream. Super tasty and the guy at the counter was a doll-other ice cream places (which I also love) feature a few grumpy, too hipster to smile, scoopers who don't add to the ice cream experience but this guy complemented my ice cream perfectly and made it all the more pleasant. We came here during our Denver vacation: my husband wants organic options and I want vegan and organic options, so we are always happy to find somewhere that can cater to our differing dietary desires. It was mid-afternoon on a Friday when we stopped in. A young lady at the counter gave us friendly and thoughtful service. Their vegan mint chocolate cookie option was awesome--reminded me of Ben and Jerry's long ago retired Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie. My husband got the olive oil and salted caramel in a two scoop dish: he absolutely loved the olive oil scoop. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a cool treat on a nice summer day. Such delicious and amazing ice cream at an ideal location. Frozen Matter is all that matters when it comes to ice cream in this neighborhood. Every time I walk by this place just the smell alone draws me in. With a creative array of fantastic flavors it's sure to melt your heart and have you coming back for more. The tequila infused ice cream was spectacular but my favorite and the one I took home in a pint was the milk and cookies ice cream. So great with nice bits of cookies mixed in and trust me when I tell you that pint didn't last two days! Stop in and enjoy or take some home, just don't expect it to last long! read more

This is a really cool spot! The guy at the counter was super helpful and let us try out as many ice creams as we wanted! I ended up getting the cookies and cream, it was delicious! Really laid back environment, played a few games of chess while enjoying our ice cream. While we were there, we found out about the speakeasy they have in their freezer called Retrograde! Can't wait to come back for more ice cream and then maybe a couple of drinks! read more

I am so impressed with this ice cream shop! Lots of unique flavors to choose from, and they had a couple of vegan/dairy-free options! I got a scoop of the dairy-free black forest ice cream, which was so delicious. This shop uses non-disposable sample spoons, reusable dishes for non-cone options, and is overall very environmentally-conscious, it seems! The staff was incredibly nice, the store was set up very modern and clean, and I will definitely be back for more! read more

My girlfriend and I split the double of the lemon-blueberry ice cream, and it was a really good. Double is definitely enough to split. I also tried the olive oil ice cream; I liked it but don't think I could eat a whole scoop. Service was excellent. Next time we are on that side of town, we will definitely be going there. read more

I was so impressed by this ice cream store! So first off they have resuable tasting spoons, no more landfill spoons! Next their bowls are super neat and made out of metal. The waffle cone my friend got was still warm out of the oven. The staff was literally so friggin nice! Bummer it's in a super gentrified area which gives off super creepy over the top white people vibe. But hey, I guess Denver is becoming the next "Brooklyn".
