I finally had the chance to "devirginize" my face at Belle Visage. Charo, the spa manager, couldn't have been more sweet and helpful. She made me feel right at home, offered me some sweet cupcakes, coffee and tea. The spa itself is beautiful and chic - do know it's not the cheapest place to do any sort of waxing, botox, facial, nail care - BUT it's worth every penny. Brooke is a facial magician. She did mention facials are a bit of a "love/hate" process being that it's mostly relaxing but semi painful at times (popping anything on your face is not the business). However she wants to make sure you're as comfortable as possible so there is constant communication. Each room is set up like a massage spa - dimly lit room, candles and light music. She gave me the "works" facial which lasted over an hour - my skin has never felt so clean... so smooth! I'm so happy with the results and I highly suggest her for all your facial/waxing needs! Service wasn't too special but okay what I wasn't happy about is I booked appointment through "class pass app"because my points were added up since I had procedure and I wasn't able to workout and wanted to use it as gift to myself. Usually I don't t take facial or these kind of beauty treatments so I was pretty excited, my appointment was 10 am and when I got there they told me that my appointment changed to 11:30 am because it was double booking...... but without them noticing me. ( I got booking confirmation email as "10 am" ) I wasn't able to make 11:30 because I had to work after. I was told by receptionist I should change time because if I cancel my appointment I'll pay penalties through class pass. Of course I'm not gonna pay cancellation fee it's totally not my fault. I changed time to same day 4 pm that was the only time I could make it, so went work and I came to store again, when I got there, nobody even apologized me, probably they had no idea what even happened. It's okay but it's still not cool because That was 100 percent wasn't my fault they are the one missed booking. Wow, what a little gem in the valley! I really love the energy in here. So calm and tranquil and it smells amazing! I made a facial appointment just for overall brightening and regular cleansing. Brooke was my esthetician and I highly recommend her. She reviewed my skin and we agreed I'd go with the diamond file facial. She explained that it tightens and tones and stimulates collagen and what girl doesn't want that? I felt like it smoothed my skin better than a micorderm facial I've received at other places. Other than a little redness that day, there was no downtime and my face is plump and bright and glowing. Charro was great at the front desk. We chatted for a while because I like to nerd out about skincare, but she wasn't too pushy. This is great because I used to go to a place on Melrose and they were so snobby and stuffy and it just wasn't a fun experience. It's worth it for me to go to the valley (I was reluctant but my friend had had a great experience so I wanted to try) and I will go back for sure. This place has a special vibe. Bravo. Since it's spa week when a hot stone massage only costs $50, I decided to give Belle Visage a try. The place is clean and comfortable, and my masseuse Mary is attentive and applied pressure where needed. However, I took one star away because of the misleading information on gratuity. They put up a sign at the receptionist on how to tip during spa week. They did the calculation on the hot stone massage based on a 90 minute treatment (which costs $150) when only a 45-minute treatment is offered, so in essence, they are telling you to make a tip for a 45-minute session based on the cost of a 90-minute session. When I questioned this, I got an unsatisfactory explanation. I am on the fence on this one. I enjoyed the massage itself, but the gratuity information is not accurate. read more

My skin has been needing some TLC and after driving by the pioneer medical spa in Studio City, I decide to call Belle Medical and treat myself. Their most popular treatment is the new Diamond K Advanced treatment. This treatment is designed to make your skin smoother, brighter, and removes all the dead skin. I was extremely impressed with this treatment because it was not harsh on my skin but yet provided outstanding clear skin results! The spa itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Here are my big takeaways: Cleanser was so silky and felt so good on my skin (products used are Tina K-the spa founder product line). The exfoliator by Tina K step felt amazing and tingling- such a treat. I need this in my life. Then the Diamond*K started to my Face, Neck, Shoulder, Chest. The handheld device isn't harsh on the skin and Brooke applied just the right pressure. The device is designed to exfoliate all your dead skin off without downtime. I later found out this exfoliating device will be available in their retail store- coming soon. I can't wait!!! Then I got to Steam---zen time I also received a wonderful Face, Neck, Shoulder Massage--more zen time! Extractions I had a lot of build up from stress and Brooke was able to careful unclog my pores Hydrating or Purifying Mask- one of my most favorite steps- this mask felt beyond amazing and soothing on my new skin Tina K Anti Oxidant Preparation- lightweight serums that are beneficial for brightening and reducing sun damage Moisture and Protect which sealed in hydration and left my skin completely satisfied All in all this facial blew me away and so did the Tina K products. Look, I am not a cheap person ok? Okay! But I am not a multimillionaire either and this place is pretty overpriced in my opinion. A standard massage, for example, starts at $115 (plus tip of course) - quality is just above average, but it is not orgasmic or anything - I suspect a hooker costs less - no?! I believe the reason for the high prices is threefold: 1- It is located in Studio City, sweetie darlings- with endless celebrity clients apparently - though in the years that I have been going I haven't seen a single one, but who am I to burst their bubble. 2- It has cool furniture, and the rooms, equipment and supplies seem top notch. One thing I always appreciate here is that I don't have to worry about cleanliness. 3- Sometimes they have water with pretty slices of fruit in it, though if truth be told I prefer my H2O sans interference- otherwise it just tastes like someone poured water into a glass that was previously used for fruit juice and wasn't washed properly and now you have this weird, slightly scary looking liquid that is neither pure water nor full juice. But that is a personal problem- can't blame this place for my issues. I have had mostly massages and facials here and both have been good - there was one forgettable pedicure session as well, but the pedicurist seemed so thoroughly uninterested and the price so unreasonable that I haven't tried it again. And contrary to another reviewer, I did not have a positive experience with Vera. I found her to be too aggressive - to such an extent that I was actually in pain for the first (and only) time during a facial! To make things worse, not only was she unapologetic and did not even pretend to alter her technique so as to cause less pain, she was pretty much blaming me for my discomfort! I make sure to ask for someone else now. But for the most part the staff is pleasant- the ones at the front desk are a little hit and miss - sometimes I could be standing there for a while before they actually acknowledge my existence - perhaps it is my cloak of invisibility - perhaps they are just too scatterbrained to manage decent customer service, but the masseuses and aestheticians are friendly and professional. Finally- and this is by no means unique to this one place - most day spas are guilty of it- but why is it that at the end of the session, instead of just stating the obvious - something like "that concludes your session- thank you" they lower their voice to match the volume of the BS zen music they got going in the background, and whisper ever so gently: "well.... I hope.... you.... enjoyed.... your.... massage.... I'll be... waiting... outside... with..... some.... (deep breath) water...." Right?? I am not saying let's have a high school marching band rip through the room to announce the end of the session, but what is with the wannabe seductress technique - it totally freaks me out! I just want to reply: O....kkayyy... but- whyyyy- are- weeee- whispering?! Finally, for real this time: if you are on a budget but want to try this place out my recommendation would be to 1: ask if they have any specials and/or 2- my preferred method: ask someone (who likes you a lot) to get you a gift card and see how you like it. So they put me with someone else who they swore was fabulous. Far from it! She was pleasant enough, but mediocre at best for my microdermabrasion facial. The facial that went with the microderm was like a mall freebie I got when I was 16. I left with no noticeable results, glow, or anything else I would expect $250 later. Making matters worse, I told the aesthetician several times about my back problems. And I told her several times that I thought the position she put me in was uncomfortable and straining my back. She made odd adjustments to my chair -- but I didn't know how badly my back was screwed up until later that night. I was in agony and had to go to a real spa and a real massage therapist to get it fixed. Will go to a real spa for my next facial, too! I would have complained the next day, but after seeing others' complete lack of satisfactory results (checked Yelp too late!) I decided that any discussion with these people would be a waste of even more time. L.A. has too many good options to waste your time and $$ here. Stressed? Stubbly? In need of a good one two massage and waxy wax punch, well then this is your place. It isn't huge, but the services they give are quite big in quality and very fair for the price. They also do the perma-hair removal and all types of waxing along with facials, massages and mani/pedis. I've waxed pathetic here a few times and was always happy with their ability to turn an awkward on all fours postion into a funny and relaxed process. BELLE VISAGE DAY SPA ROCKS!!!! this is a great spa and i loved it... i went there yesterday with my good girlfriend and we had a girls day out, we went to belle visage and i got the skin gym pacakage that included visage contour plus facial, papaya enzyme treatment, and a deep tissue and the whole package came out to $205 which compared to other spas is a bargin, and also i got a eyebrow waxing which came out to $25 and a bikini wax which was $35 all and all this spa was amazing.. but i still have no clue what a playkini and playboy bikini waxing is if anyone knows i am very intersted in finding out read more

She is quick, but thorough and focused on the task at hand, but she was still able to chat me up a bit, and make me feel comfortable. The front desk staff is always friendly, helpful and efficient. They call the day before to remind you of your appt. which is nice. The spa is clean, neat, and I they seem to have the appts. organized so that you don't sit there waiting and waiting. I've been coming to Belle Visage to have my nether regions robbed of all furriness for the last five or six years. My recent aesthetician, Michelle, was awesome. It's easy to feel self conscious, vulnerable and all kinds of awkward when you're lying half naked and spread eagle on a table but she was always professional. Polite and friendly but not overly chatty, quick and efficient. I'm in and out of there within ten minutes. Sadly, she moved away so I had to get my latest wax from another girl there. She was pleasant enough, but I'll miss Michelle. I can't say I've shopping around bikini waxes much so I couldn't tell you if it was cheaper or more expensive than normal. But the ambiance and decor are very nice and upscale. The staff is always friendly. And I can always find street parking, or a spot in their lot behind the shop. read more

As a veteran of getting "maintenance" done (AKA primping), I was excited to try all the new laser procedures when they started becoming widely available. Unfortunately, due to having light skin and hair that mostly matched, I was told by several dermatologists and plastic surgery centers that I was not a good candidate for laser hair removal. My best friend mentioned she DID have her hair successfully removed using laser treatments (at a spa that happens to be a block from my house, Belle Visage) and she was very happy with her results. Oh yeah...then I remembered that I had visited Belle Visage years prior (before the existence of Yelp) for some other type of maintenance. That's when I called them to see if they offered a Plan B... what I mistakenly thought was an old-school technique...electrolysis. I wasn't sure if that was still done but I was assured that electrolysis was alive and well. I made up my mind that I was going to commit to the extended time it would require to complete the process and went in for my first treatment. The spa was as beautiful and clean as I remembered it. I instantly clicked with Charo, the receptionist who, rather than treating me as though she were doing me a favor by speaking to me (something I've encountered with some other upscale spas on the Westside), Charo made me feel like she was there to help. Honestly, help. What a charming, attentive, classy, and genuine person she is. You know when someone says "she's beautiful inside AND out?," that's Charo. My Electrologist, Shannon, is awesome. "Electrolysis is a somewhat mildly irritating procedure; nothing more. It's not really painful, just annoying." Spot on Shannon. She made me aware of exactly what to expect, answered all my questions, and as our appointments have continued, impressed me with her medical knowledge and obvious experience with skin care in general. She exhibits the utmost in professionalism and by the way....does not chatter endlessly on about her private life and problems the way so many aestheticians and other service providers I've used have done. Being a service provider myself, I know how important this can be. Our conversations are an exchange, not a monologue. Shannon knows her stuff and always makes sure I feel comfortable, helps me have realistic expectations, and treats me with an abundance of TLC. She is truly a pro.
