Sweet As is different from your typical ice cream shop, and I'm a big fan! You choose your base (yogurt, ice cream, etc.) and the fruit mix ins. I got the nui size with frozen yogurt as the base and lilikoi as the fruit. I love everything about this dessert. Because it is frozen yogurt, it isn't super sweet, and with the lilikoi fruit mix in, it added the perfect amount of tartness. It's also a very generous portion. Overall, a very solid dessert shop.
I'm not a big dessert person, but I do appreciate great ice cream especially with fresh ingredients. On a recent visit to the mall, a friend was craving a treat, so with no line we stopped here. The young person making the ice cream did a great job taking orders and making them each fresh, but also seemed overwhelmed with the long line forming. I opted for vanilla with fresh frozen mango. The ingredients are mixed together with a balanced consistency, so I tasted the fruit throughout. Their seating area needed some attention. Prices were high, but worth it for a special treat.
Great taste but little too pricy. Got blueberry w yogurt. Pineapple w vanilla, which was the best Strawberry coconut. Blueberry w yogurt. About $10 for ice cream. Cool way to make it but idk I will eat again bc of price
Such a nice guilt-free sweet treat. We got the mango fro yo with li hing powder and the lilikoi fro yo. Both were refreshing and light, love finding good froyo spots!

You can choose from yogurt or vanilla ice... and mix it with your fruits of choice You could also choose it in a cone or a cup. They have waffle, cones, and sugar cones. The waffle cone is light and not thick. Perfect to go with the fruit ice cream that I had I chose pineapple mango with vanilla. My daughter had strawberry with yogurt. Each were so refreshing. Service was quick. It's a pop-up location- pick up and go. There are chairs and tables located next to it.

I got the vegan coconut ice cream with pineapple so I could have a pina colada. I didn't like that they left extra ice cream in the mixer, though.

Thee best combo is banana with the coconut ice cream base. It's so creamy and the two works so well together! The keiki size is enough for one. The ice cream melts a bit quicker than regular soft serve.

My dad wanted a blueberry ice cream and it's fresh blueberries blended into frozen yogurt. We got it on a cone and there are tables to sit and enjoy it. It was a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy, there was one worker and she was helpful in giving us directions around the mall. My dad just chilled and stayed here while we went shopping. He enjoyed his little sweet treat.
We stopped by Sweet As on a Sunday around 5 pm. It was pretty busy, but the line moved quickly so we didn't wait long. Since it was near the end of the day, a few of the fruits we usually order were sold out, but we still found some tasty options. We ordered the keiki cup with vanilla base, pineapple, lilikoi, and li hing mui. It was so delicious and refreshing! The keiki size is surprisingly generous, perfect for sharing if you're craving something sweet but not too heavy. Service was fast and friendly, and there are some tables and chairs nearby where you can sit and enjoy your treat. Definitely a great spot for a refreshing end of the day pick-me-up!
Amazing Ice Cream!! KYLIE is Amazing ! Awesome Customer Service! It was my first time and she explained to me how they do there ice creams and everything lol also the part that I love the most and made my night my 2 year old dropped her ice cream and Kylie made her another one she's Amazing ! And there Stickers are Sooo Cute! Had to get some ! And there merch was super cute too!! Definitely making this Icecream shop a must Everytime I come to Hawaii
Oh ma ga! This place is soooo good! Best damn ice cream I ever ate! Choose your flavor of ice cream, choose your fresh fruit then it's integrated!.... Fresh, smooth, not overly sweet... just right! My combo - vanilla ice cream and banana and the portion is huge. And customer service....very personable! Nice touch.

Their froyo mixed with blueberry is amazing, so good, their ice cream is good too but I prefer frozen yogurt. It's a bit pricey in general for ~7 for a one scoop and ~10 for a 2 scoop but it's located right in the middle of Ala Moana by Neiman in a kiosk so it's probably expensive because of that, but worth it! Service is great, today was a bit light because only one person was staffed, and the blueberry froyo came out a bit mushy but still tasted good. There's plenty of seating as well, and in general a pretty good spot being in the middle of alas and all. read more
Sweet As is one of the most underrated dessert spots in Ala Moana Shopping Center! anytime I want a sweet treat that doesn't make me feel guilty after eating it, I come here! I got their keiki size (which is more than enough for one person) of frozen yogurt with mixed berries and it was fruity, not too sweet, and delicious! The little crunches of frozen berries with each bite add a fun texture, too. The booth has a handful of tables next to it. The service is always on point! read more
Ice cream in Honolulu, Hawaii... Walking around the third level of Ala Moana Center (the largest outdoor shopping center in the world), most people will pass by this kiosk named Sweet As. There's an outdoor seating area nearby! The concept is to have healthy fruits and mix them into a soft serve ice cream. The only non-dairy choice for me was coconut. I thought that berries might match the best, so I ordered from the nice gal at the window. She asked if non-dairy was a preference. I told her that I'm lactose intolerant... LOL! Anyway... Keiki size is small. It's $7.85 plus tax. Hmmm... I got a regular cone because a waffle cone would be $1 more. The flavor was ok... it wasn't sweet like a "normal" ice cream... and it melted quickly because the fruits and ice cream had been mixed together the machine. My curiosity is satisfied. I'm glad that parking is free at the Mall! read more

New Zealand style ice cream. My go to is the Lilikoi with frozen yogurt as the base. You get to watch them make it fresh. The keiki size was pleasantly big! They have two locations on the island. We only tired the one in the North Shore. read more
This is an ok option for ice cream! This is a kiosk at Ala Moana Center on the third level. You customize your ice cream with the flavor of the base (ice cream or frozen yogurt), fruit, and toppings. Service is really friendly, and I found that my order came out in a reasonable time! I got a keiki size vanilla ice cream with mango, and honestly I was a little disappointed with what I got! It mostly tasted like vanilla with frozen mini cubes mango swirled inside. I felt like I could barely taste the mango and the frozen chunks were a little jarring (I'm not a fan of biting into my ice cream). I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet, but for the price I was hoping for a stronger flavor, especially with fresh fruits. I wouldn't mind trying the other flavor combinations, but overall it's just okay to me! read more
I usually like to do some research before writing a view but didn't find no link to Yelp to their website. One of the Yelper mentioned something about New Zealand inspired and started from North Shore. I found their website at http://www.sweetasicecream.com/ After dinner at Ala Moana, we wanted a light, cold dessert. I've seen this kiosk across from Neiman Marcus few times passing by. I think there was another ice cream place here. Anyway, you get to choose type of ice cream and what fruit you want. It was easy to order. They blend the fruit into the ice cream like soft serve. I really didn't know what to expect. We got the Keiki size for $8 and it was perfect for two people. My choice was vanilla ice cream with rasberry. You don't want to eat an ice cream for a meal. And surprisingly, it was very light. I think I rather come here the next time and try different flavor rather than my usual ice cream fix at Norstrom gelato. read more

I really like how you can customize your icecream based on your own preferences to choose the fruit, icecream basis, toppings, and type of cup/cone. To order, it is located on the right side of the kiosk stall. Considering the size, I think it is a little pricier end for soft serve. I order a strawberry frozen yogurt and it was alright, but the texture was a little bit more of greek yogurt and would prefer a little bit more sweetness. BUT IT IS PERFECT, if you want to find a healthier alternative! Sizes: (based on 11/2024) -Keiki (one scoop of icecream w/ a fruit) $7 -Nui (2 scoops of icecream w/ a fruit) $9 SEATING: limited on a first-come-first-serve basis PARKING: plenty provided at the Ala Moana Mall SERVICE: quick and friendly read more

I like simple menus with clear instructions how to order. Sweet As does a great job of walking you through your options. Pick a fruit, pick an ice cream, pick a size, optional add-ons, and done. My favorite is lilikoi in their coconut ice cream, followed by strawberry in vanilla ice cream. Oddly, the opposite combinations (lilikoi in vanilla and strawberry in coconut), while still good, were not as good; and I have no idea why lol. The coconut ice cream also has some texture to it, which I presume is bits of coconut. Their waffle cones are good and freshly made as well. The register is around to the right side if you are facing the front of their large kiosk. read more
Sweet as Ice Cream has been open for a couple of months at Ala Moana Center. They have two other locations; one in Laie (which I've strolled past but not patronized) and another in Haleiwa. Situated on the third level just above the AMC center stage. There is a small seating area on the ewa side of the kiosk. They offer a New Zealand style of ice cream. It is not too sweet - in the best way - and it's light, similar to soft serve. They offer a vanilla and coconut base as well as a non-dairy coconut milk base for vegans and those lactose-intolerant. Frozen yogurt is their fourth alternative. Pick a fruit - I've requested strawberry and pineapple - and then pick a base. I paired the strawberry with vanilla; and also mixed pineapple with coconut...both were excellent. The latter was in a waffle cone, also not coying in sugary sweetness. They offer several fruits to add to your base of choice...it is all about the base, however...such as mango, lilikoi, and blueberry. Keiki size is more than enough but there is a Nui size for those ice cream addicts who are hungry. Service was very good...wait not too long. Parking? It is AMC - so parking is plentiful but so is foot and car traffic. read more

ATMOSPHERE: The oversized kiosk structure is located on a third floor bridge above centerstage near Neiman Marcus. Communal open-air seating is available. PARKING: Plenty of free parking is available. MENU: Soft serve ice cream. DESSERT: Three simple steps when ordering: Choose your ice cream flavor, choose your fruit, choose your size & style (single or double) in a cup or waffle cone. The ice cream & fruit are put into a churning machine which gently mixes it together. I chose a double "scoop" of vanilla with bananas in a waffle cone ($10). The ice cream was piled high and not overly sweet, but I could hardly taste or detect any inkling of bananas. The waffle cone was textbook ice cream shop. SERVICE: Counter service was fast and friendly. OVERALL: I was expecting more of a wow flavor factor due to the addition of fresh fruits but it tasted like plain, mainstream soft serve. read more

They give so much I got the smallest size and it was still a lot lol. lilikoi with rainbow sprinkles was the perfect mix of sweet and tart :) plus the girl who made my cone was so nice!! Third time is the charm... For us here at Ala Moana Center as Sweet as has just opened on Friday March 22nd 2024...and how sweet is that! Located on the third level right above the centerstage making it a great place to take that needed break from shopping g and taking it all in. Concept is pretty simple...ice cream (vanilla or coconut), frozen yogurt or dairy free coconut +$1 with a fruit of your choice to add either a single or double scoops sized and for an additional dollar upgrade to house made waffle. I went for it and got the double with dairy free coconut and thought that pineapple would be the best to pair with and had to try it with the waffle and gosh what a system they have as it was made super fast! It looked more like a frozen yogurt type of consistency as it was solid hard and the chunks of pineapple blended in to the dairy free coconut was amazing btw it was so light and very mellow and the waffle was a bit thin but did held its own and didn't crack under the pressure. They have this contraption to blend your base with the fruit of your choice to then dispense it so beautifully is indeed a work of art. Along with some seating provided right beside the kiosk is a nice way to casually enjoy your treat. The vibe here is very friendly and nice a bit pricey in my opinion though the quality I did enjoy but may not get the waffle cone the next time so that I don't feel rushed to enjoy this bougie treat. One day while shopping I stopped to ask if I could sample the Frozen Yogurt. The gentleman working there said absolutely and handed me a sample. It was delicious, Unfortunately I had just eaten lunch and was full but I knew for a fact I would be back to try the real deal. I craved that yumminess for the next couple of days and decided when I went to pick my daughter up from the mall I would walk up and get some. I chose the frozen yogurt with mixed berry, Keiki size. It was delicious, not too sweet, PERFECTION! The Keiki size is also just the size I need. I've already been back. AND I plan to go back, again and again. You can find this cute little spot right in front of the ALOHA display. (Side Note: I kinda want to knock it down 1/2 a star because the size is not consistent from visit to visit but I REALLY don't mind that tooooo much because I LOVE the flavor.) read more
New place located on the top floor of Ala Moana facing the center stage area. The employees were very friendly telling us how it all worked. Pick a fruit, $1.00 for each additional fruit then pick a base which could be vanilla ice cream, coconut ice cream, or frozen yogurt, They have $7 child size which is one scoop of ice cream/yogurt and $9 regular size which is 2 scoops ice cream/yogurt, $1.00 more for a hand made waffle cone, otherwise it comes in a cup or regular cone. Seems like the yogurt pairs the best with the fruit in order to taste the fruit, coconut ice cream is good and comes with shredded coconut. I found the vanilla ice cream to be milk tasting and it over powered the fruit but was still good. It's a nice refreshing treat when shopping at Ala Moana on a hot day. read more

Was very excited to try this place. I got a keiki size in a waffle cone. Picked vanilla and mango to get mixed. Service at the register was friendly and I got my cone pretty quickly. The sizing is big and I'm glad I got the keiki size to share. The texture of ice cream was good and the taste was refreshing. I just wish the waffle cone was a little better. It wasn't as crispy as I like but the taste is good. Will be back to try another flavor combo! read more
Could there be anything better than New Zealand ice cream conveniently located at the mall? This authentic ice cream is a great date or adventure to try a special international treat. Service at this location was very friendly. They do not offer their Kamaaina discount at this location. Stamps for the stamp card were unavailable when we visited. read more

Super refreshing little ice cream bar in the middle of ala moana. Its located near center stage, but upstairs. They do have some seating/tables available nearby. They have fruit options then combined with a ice cream bases (they do have a non-dairy option). The single scoop is pretty big, I'd say big enough to share. Super refreshing and nice enough to share on a hot day! read more
Disappointing experience here as I love ice cream. The ice cream was good, by itself. (I was given a sample of the vanilla coconut) I then chose to mix pineapple with the ice cream and did not enjoy this combo at all. It was oddly sweet. The advertised real fruit doesn't speak to its freshness. Wondering if sugar was added to the fruit or if it was in some type of syrup? Or maybe choice of frozen yogurt would've been better? The servers were mostly cheery and helpful despite the growing crowd and frequent jams with their ice cream mixer. The outdoor seating is nice but does get hectic as many people are passing through this area of the mall. Note: don't throw used sample spoons in the jars, those are supposed to be clean ones! read more

Sweet As on a hot day sounded perfect. This place mixes real fruit with your choice of ice cream, frozen yogurt, or coconut. We got the mango ice cream and the strawberry banana ice cream. The flavors were a little mild, but still really refreshing. The service was nice and helpful they even gave us recommendations for their best flavors. Personally, this isn't really my style of ice cream that I'd go for, but it's definitely worth a try read more
We were on a hunt for ice cream and since this was the end of our day, and we both met up at Ala Moana, we came here. I ordered the mixed berries and I like how they mix it all together and it comes out in this delicious ice cream swirl! Waffle cone is the only way to go! read more

Saw this place all over IG and thought the concept was cool! I ordered a keiki cup with strawberry and frozen yogurt as the base (I wanted vanilla but they were out). The serving was pretty big for a keiki size and the ice cream itself was yummy! Super creamy and fresh tasting. Love how they use real frozen fruit and it's not too sweet. If you're craving something fruity and creamy and don't want just regular ice cream, this is the place to check out! I would come here again and try other flavors. read more
