There are signature bamboo meals combos rather than lunch specials, which includes pork fried rice and a can of soda, or you can substitute different rice for additional $. A bottle of water here is .75, homemade tea is $1.75. No restroom. Plain, straight forward interior with two tables and seven chairs. I got a small veggie lo mein (7.35). They don't use MSG here. I think this place has been around for a while, but might be under new management. The inside of the restaurant seems bright and clean. The standard take-out place where you can see the kitchen and there are a couple of tables. Even though I was the only customer, there were many people picking up for delivery services. I've usually order through UberEats but I was nearby and decided to pick up. The prices in store are exponentially better! I was greeted upon walking in with a smile. I ordered half chicken with green plantains because I wanted something light. Everything was made perfectly. The chicken was crisp, the outside of the plantains had a bite with a fluffy inside. Their standard noodle/rice with protein dishes do not disappoint. The food isn't greasy or the sauces too heavy. The menu seems limited, but maybe things are available by request. And they have milk teas! If they were a bit closer, this would be my go-to Chinese spot read more

The service was amazing and the manager is superb on recommending food choices and i saw that he is training and respecting his employee well. The viand pork pepper steak is well cooked and tasty not salty and dry. You can get a complimentary drinks when you do a review like me. I normally only purchase Chinese food from two restaurants. The food was extremely hot and delicious which is exactly how I like it. I now understand why this is a favorite place. This week I had Jury Duty. *clap clap clap clap clap*. Jury Duty gives you an hour to grab lunch and being that I had brought a modest breakfast with me, by the time that 1pm rolled around I was ravenous. I wanted to sit somewhere out of the sunshine and away from people so I ended up finding a quaint Irish Pub that didn't sell food, but did provide me with a good selection of menus. Homegirl was craving Chinese food in the worst way so New King Garden was perfect. New King Garden is your typical Chinese takeout spot. With a $6 lunch special they served me enough food to serve two moderately hungry people or 1 ravenous individual (meeeee! I ate it all! OMNOMNOMNOM GIMMIEEEE!!!). They delivered quickly, packaged the food well and their delivery guy was super cool. I went with sweet and sour chicken with white rice and requested my sauce on the side (this now seems to be a standard practice, but back when I was a young chickie these types of spots used to drown the chicken in it and then it would no longer be crunchy...I like it as a dipping sauce mmmkay). Their lunch special not only comes with an entree and rice (choice or white or fried) but it also comes with your choice of soup or a beverage. I went with their wonton soup. Their sweet n' sour chicken and white rice was delicious! It was a generous portion, the chicken wasn't greasy feeling and it was very well flavored and made even better by their sweet n' sour sauce and some soy sauce. Their wonton soup was rather disappointing as it only came with 3 wontons and the pork to dough wrapper ration was really poor. They barely had any meat and the broth was quite bland...but for $6 my overall meal was stupendous. I'm never in this neighborhood and I wouldn't return just for this place, but if I do ever find myself in this hood I would totally order/eat from here again. read more

FYI, these guys have new owners/chefs, therefore the food quality may have changed. I've been ordering from New King Garden for the past three years or so and I am never disappointed. Their fried fish, fried jumbo shrimp and egg foo young are among my favorites. They are always polite when I call or stop in and don't treat people like cattle being put to pasture. Delivery is fast and I believe when you call in your order, the minimum is $7 I've just figured out they take online orders and have since been placing my orders through Yelp. $15 is the online order minimum. I have been getting my Chinese food from here for about 3+ years. I chose this spot because its the closest spot that is around to me after I get out of the F train right on Hillside Ave. The lady inside this place is so friendly and the food is always good. Sometimes the food takes a long time to make but there is only usually one cook in there so it takes some time especially when there are more than one person waiting on food to take out. read more
