Sweet sweet betty. I had the crepe special and just wish the strawberries they'd picked were a little sweeter...or if they'd lightly sugared them. I did get the privilege of having some of the wife's raspberry French toast which was delicious and made me envious. The bacon was amazing, my eggs cooked perfectly and the home fries are the way to go. Do not get the hashbrowns! Sweet Betty"s is a really sweet place! Unprepossessing from the outside, but cozy and nice ambiance on the inside. Our server is clearly someone who loves what she does--very cheery, quick service, and she checks back several times to see how you're doing. Husband had the cinnamon French toast, which he said was really good; I combined 3 sides: cottage cheese, rye toast and avocado for a yummy, healthy breakfast. Sweet Betty's has always been great for their breakfasts and lunch but tonight we tried their BBQ dinner of Brisket and Pulled Pork with sides of slaw, baked beans and Mac n'cheese. I get we are forced to make due with this pandemic , but food should not make due with quality and service ... just ordered breakfast for take out for my wife on Mother's Day , couldn't get through on phone for a good hour , get to the restaurant and there is a line around the building taking both orders and pick up . Now I get it's busy , but don't have one person doing everything from taking orders over the phone to taking orders in the take out line .. that was 20 minutes of waiting ON TOP of waiting for the food to be cooked . I saw my order on the counter the entire time . I pay and get home , the food is cold , the meat ( prime rib) was gray and having to reheat the food is just sub par . I will never go here again for anything , they used to be a favorite place of my wife's , but not anymore . You want to stay open and take orders . Have enough staff to get people out the door faster .. terrible . If I could I would give this negative stars . read more

Went with my ex brothers law as he said the food was good. Saturday, car show down the street, great day to see how this place worked under pressure. Well they came through with flying colors. Quickly seated, water brought with in minutes. Waitress came back shortly and took our order. I had a Spanish omelette, perfectly executed. Potatoes were crisp, and my pancake was perfect. Pat had a similar order except with toast, said every thing was great. Then the usual failure, the illusive check, WRONG, waitress showed up with the check moments after we finished. I see a few reviews mentioning the Boyds and should mention that Boyds is like most coffee companies -they have different blends, so the taste profile depends on what the restaurant picks. Anything from cheap, bland to high end exotics. The coffee here is good for someone like me who does NOT like bitter coffee. I am not a French Roast fan from any company (Boyds or the Starbucks or some other brand they serve at work), so that may help some determine if the coffee is for them. I'm a mild to medium blend gal. And they serve real cream in baby bottles, which we found humorous. The food we had was tasty! Breakfast sandwich on Texas toast, home fries had mild seasoning (nothing special - just lightly seasoned), Eggs Benedict with gravy instead of hollandaise. I tried a bite of all the meals, but ordered the Olivia's (bacon, sausage & cheese omelet with fruit). The meals are reasonably sized - too much food for a 9yo boy, hubby finished his plate off (so a little light for him), and the two egg omelet with fruit was the PERFECT size for me. I did notice and was excited by the fact that I could have ordered both home fries AND pancakes instead of toast and almost ordered an omelet that came with that instead. The fruit was your usual breakfast mix of honeydew, cantaloupe and grapes. Not sure where restaurants get this mix, but it seems to be all over the place. The fruit was fruit - fresh, not overly ripe. The omelet had an excellent meat to egg ratio. The eggs were just a thin covering over the insides and the bacon and sausage were in small pieces so none of the awkward "trying to saw my large slice of bacon in pieces in the middle of my omelet with a fork" nonsense - there were delicious bites of bacon, sausage and cheese in every bite. I will say that my bite of egg sandwich with bacon and omelet left me with the opinion that the bacon is just plain bacon - no fancy thick peppered bacon or anything, but the sausage in my omelet had excellent flavor and altogether required no salt or pepper to be tasty (more than I can say for several other breakfast places I've frequented. We hear the cinnamon french toast is to die for and will clearly have to return to try it. And PS, the owner is a very friendly and interesting woman. We had a nice conversation with her while we were there. They do private parties there for $100 and serve cocktails. We tried going there for Whiskey Wednesdays and it was closed - we found out their planning to do it seasonally for now and hopefully will bring it back next summer. read more

Late lunch stop yesterday at Sweet Betty's and was pleasantly surprised. We walked into a cute and warm atmosphere, that smelled delicious! As soon as we sat down and started looking at the menu, my mouth started watering. Thats always a good sign. My instincts were correct, our lunch was wonderful. I had the Tomato/basil soup which was good, and a half of the healthy tuna on wheat bread, also very good. I only get out to Gresham once in a while, but I definitely will be going back. This is a rare gem of location. You almost want to keep this one quiet ;) Side note: bring extra $$$ for a T-Shirt - Super cute! read more

My boss recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try. We prefer a booth so were happy to wait about 10 minutes until one opened up. Once seated we quickly selected our meals and set the menus aside (we were sooooo hungry!) alas, we waited at least 15 minutes ..... Not a hello or even a glance from a server. Watched as others were waited on, most of whom had been seated after us. After 20 minutes we gave up and left but I'm pretty sure they didn't notice. Mother's Day Disaster! Thanks Sweet Betty's for nothing. We decided to support a local business for mother's day but instead of dining in, we wanted to order take out. We tried to call the restaurant 24 hours in advance to see about placing a to-go order knowing that they would be busy the next day. Their website stays they offer take out. Well after calling 5 times and them not answering, we decided to place the order online, 24 hours in advance, through the Uber app. I thought everything was okay as I received nothing to indicate otherwise. Then come Sunday morning, Mother's Day, we arrive at Sweet Betty's to pick up our order and guess what... they did not make our food, claimed they had no record of the order, then refused to make our order saying they were not doing any take out orders. So, instead of apologizing and doing the right thing, they said "you're on your own, take it up with Uber ". Who does that? Terrible service. If I could give negative stars I would but I can't, so giving one star is very generous. read more

Great service! I love the ladies that work there! They always make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Service was horrible. Food cold, they charge you to take a to go box. $2.00a box. They don't do leftovers. My breakfast was cold. Really cold. The service was horrible. People that were after us, some of them were 10minutes after us and they ordered, ate their food, pay, leave, and were we still waiting. My mom ordered a Rueben. She loved it. Everything else was crap. Pretty sure we're never going back. Oh also their hash browns were the regular frozen processed crunchy outside mushy inside ones you get at every other diner. I love how close this is to everywhere else i go to, their bacon is right in between crispy and chewy. Very delicious. Their pancakes melt in your mouth like you're eating cotton candy. I would most reccomend coming here more than once to experience the whole menu! Love the constant looping music that plays, doesn't really get annoying.
