The macaroons here are really good. Not too sweet compared to other places. The workers are friendly and sweet. Prices are not too bad. Such a cute place! I used to come here more often but as they got popular the line has become so long I dont really want to wait in it. They overall have solid macarons with nice chewy textures. I dont think any flavors stick out to me but there designs are so cute! Recomend waiting in long line at least once a quarter. read more

Never a wait here for cute sweets and treats! It's a small store front where you can order and take to go, but since it's in the Source, there's seating all around. Definitely my stop for cute character macarons based off of Disney characters, LINE friends, Kakao friends, etc. Reasonable and affordable prices for tasty macarons. Really cute little macaron stand that's located on the first floor of The Source near the donut shop. The Source has plenty of free parking so it's super easy to access and There's only a store front and no seating so you'd have to sit outside in the common areas to eat the macarons. The staff there was pretty friendly and open to answering my questions about the different flavors. There are plenty of flavors plus really cute character macarons available. Their popular flavors are cookies & cream and salted caramel, but I decided to try a flavor I've never had which was the Injeolme (soy bean powder rice mochi / kinako). The flavor was really good and light and not too sweet which I enjoyed! It was very creamy and the powder can be a bit messy to eat but I enjoyed the flavor very much! Would love to try more flavors in the future. read more

First time trying Tanghulu and it was very good the tanginess and sweetness from the outside she'll make for a perfect combo. The visual appeal of the shinny candy was so nice that it made me not want to eat it. We also had the birthday cake macaron that was delicious. The location was an outdoor mall so it was ideal to walk around and snack on our sweets. read more

Stumbled across Sweet Box after having dinner. It's located on the first floor of the Source. It's a small counter service spot that offers macarons and ice cream macarons. The flavors they offer are pretty average. I do appreciate that they offer ice cream macarons because you can't find that everywhere. The macarons were average, perfect size for satisfying the sweet tooth. read more

Specifically visited the source because we wanted to try the tanghulu here! We went on a Saturday evening and there was a line, but it went super quickly - we thought we'd be there for at least 15-20 minutes but were at the front within 5 minutes. They have plenty of options for treats, but we all tried the tanghulu! We opted for the grape, orange, and strawberry and everyone loved them all! They had that perfect crunch you'd expect. food: this was my first ever time trying tanghulu since it is so hyped up. it wasn't bad, i just expected more. i do believe since it's blown up, pricing is w bit much, but i'm not complaining! the macaron was pretty good and cute with a bear design! not too sweet :) service: the line moved pretty quickly and the cashier was super sweet. ambiance: nothing to really say, its like a little stand, so u just wait in line outside and grab your items and leave! no seating in the area read more

Sweet box in the past has been the go to for super cute character macarons and dragons beard candy. Note, the original dragons bead candy is the best. However, recently there's been a lot of hype around tanghulu. So much so that they started selling it. They sell for $5 a piece which is a bit pricey. It was very interesting to try though. I was hoping I would like the grape one more than I did. My favorite was the Mandarin orange one since it's naturally sweet and then their strawberry one would be my second favorite. read more

My son recommended this store when we were staying at the Fairfield across the street from the Source. I purchased some of their standard macarons. I visited Sweet Box on Saturday, 1/27/24, in the afternoon. What caught my interest was the Tanghulu. I never tried it before so I was ecstatically excited to try it. I opted for the Strawberries. These macarons are deliciously chewy. They have a great variety to choose from. They even have special character ones, but those cost a bit more. I ordered a dozen to try their different flavors and the ones I've tasted so far are delicious. Their prices are reasonable, similar to other macarons shops. Sweet Box is located at The Source mall in Buena Park, CA. My friend and I stopped by here for some individually-wrapped macarons to go on 4/21/22. So here is what we ordered: Regular Macarons × 2 ($5.00) - I was told raspberry was good. My salted caramel was so delectable. Special Character Macarons × 2 ($7.00) - My oldest daughter got the chocolate kitty cat and loved it. My youngest daughter gobbled her strawberry-flavored tiger in typical fashion. Lol. Cute character macarons for a reasonable price compared to other macaron shops. You can even get a large cup of shells for $4.50! Fill them with ice cream or dip them in your coffee at home! I also bought the coffee macaron, and it had great coffee flavor. They splurge on the filling; it's thick. Super cute. read more

Such a cute little shop! I love all the cute cookies they have on display! So aesthetic!! Rilakkuma macaroons 3/5: I was kinda disappointed with how the cookie was. The worker said they just came out of the freezer so a little caught by surprise to find out they were frozen. The cookie part was so crumbly and the frosting center was hard. We went to sweet box with my nieces. Like other reviews have said, its in The Source. My niece loves bunnies so of course we got a bunny and then we just decided on the rest. It did take us quite a bit of time to decide because we are indecisive ladies but the worker was so sweet and patient with us. I bit on pricy side tbh. $14 for the 4 but its cute and worth the experience since it made her happy. ** Note I only tried the beae (strawberry flavor) and it had a STRONG flavor so it was rlly good!! read more

Macroons are by far my favorite dessert. AND, its not high in calories (SCORE!) Im ultra picky with the taste of my macroons. I dont like flavors to taste artificial, and her pistachio are BY FAR, THE BEST. When I go here, I always buy a dozen. And the saddest day comes around when I finish it, thinking when I need to go back to get more. Please support this small business. The Source has a lot of hidden gems and one of those is Sweet Box. Definitely a must go to spot to get that sweet tooth craving. There desserts are freshly made along with the sugar strawberries and you could taste it as you take your first bite. Truly appreciate great customer service and the young lady that helped us was super sweet. Popped in to try a couple of macarons (pls don't call them macaroons..two totally different things) while we were at The Source mall. The store is a counter where you pick your macarons or dragon's beard candy - there's no seating. The kidlet chose a character macaron ($3.50 ea) and you need to ask what the flavors are for each character. I decided on an earl grey ($2.50) to try. Each macaron is wrapped in a clear cellophane wrapper. Although pricey, one macaron is on the larger size and filling is ample. The kiddo enjoyed his cookies & cream flavored macaron and I really liked my earl grey - nice chew on the cookie portion and a light yet rich filling with good earl grey flavor. I would def come back again to try more flavors or for a cute gift. read more

They are located on the first floor of the Source shopping center in Buena Park. We actually parked on the second floor and took the escalator down.It's a really small stand with just snacks on display and they are close to Old Ferry Donut. My niece was visiting from New Zealand and found this place on TikTok or one of the YouTubers tried the Tanghulu from here and said it was good. We drove here just for that and they were cool to try! I tried the grape and strawberry and liked the strawberry more. I wish I could've tried the tangerine but I believe they were out at the time (this was around 7 p.m.) Definitely stop by here if you want good Tanghulu! read more

I was excited to give this place a try, especially since they had such cute characters to pick from. We ended up getting 8 different characters with some having the same flavors, which included vanilla, strawberries, Nutella, red velvet, chocolate, and cookies and cream. I do wish they labeled the flavors for everything since I kept asking what flavors were each one of them while debating what to get. I love how soft they were and I appreciated having a whip type frosting in the middle instead of the typical fillings I've had before with other macaroons I tried in the past. They definitely need to be refrigerated right away since they did start getting soft after leaving them out for a bit if you don't have any intent on eating them straight away. She did attach a note card that contained instructions on how to take care of them once they go home with you hehe read more

I'm a sucker for adorable / absurdly priced macarons. My coworkers and I stopped by The Source in Buena Park for a work sesh. After seeing Sweet Box on Yelp, I couldn't pass on the opportunity to experience this business and it's sweet goodies. We arrived right before closing and each picked two macarons for the ride home. Lucky for us, the selection was still well stocked at 8pm! There are two options: $2.75 for a classic macaron or $3.75 for the character macaron. I ended up ordering a cookies and crème classic and a birthday cake shaped like a snowman. The snowman was so adorable that I struggled to eat it. They were both chewie with a thin crunchy shell. So CUTE! I went yesterday to the Source and saw this place. We got a couple to try, I spoke to one of the employees and she told us that she makes them and draws each macaron by hand! Wow! Aside from being cute and aesthetically pleasing these are AMAZING. Light, chewy and very delicate. My favorite was the coffee (Ryan character), it tasted like a strong Vietnamese coffee. Highly recommend! I also tried the chocolate one which tasted like a chocolate cupcake (Rilakuma). My sister had the cookies and cream one and she loved it (blue). I always get their grape or strawberry tanghulu and love the flavor. Have tried making at home but failed but okay. Service is friendly and fast. It's at the Source in OC, the ambiance is loud depends what day you go to. Can get busy too. It's a little pricey but it's California. read more

The cutest storefront ever! Located at the source OC. These macarons are handmade in store. Ordered the cookies n creme just to try and it was great. The texture was soft and creamy! I also like how thick they make their fillings compared to other macaron places. $2.50 each for regular macarons & $3.50 for the special character ones. Cute little place in "The Source". We got there kinda late and the only ice cream macarons that they had were strawberry, green tea, cappuccino and mango. Tried the strawberry and cappuccino, tasted great but next time I'm going to get just the regular filling macarons. Went to Sweet Box for their viral tanghulu! This was my first time getting this treat. Strawberry was $5.50 and grape was $5.00. It had a nice crunch but nothing too special. Disappointed that the only reason why I drove out almost 4 hours was to get some dragon beard candy only to find out that it was already SOLD OUT! I was so sad! I did get to try the candied fruit. I ordered the strawberry and the green grape. They were both good and had a nice crunch. I prefer the strawberry over the grape, but that's just my opinion. read more
