I've been here before and honestly wasn't a fan of their breakfast. Their drinks were decent though, and after eating teriyaki in Gardena, I was craving something sweet, so we decided to stop here again. I ordered a hot salted caramel latte. They charge an extra dollar to substitute oat milk, so I kept the regular milk. My son got the cappuccino cake, and I chose the ricotta pistachio cake. The pistachio cake was a little dry -- not terrible, but noticeable. However, my hot salted caramel latte was actually very good and paired really well with the dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music and atmosphere were nice, and there were only a few patrons inside, which made it feel relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.
This is the last straw with this place. At first this place was great coffee was delicious and the cakes are probably the best I've had. However the last few times I've come here I've left disappointed and angry. I can get over the pricier food and drinks but when it comes to slow service and subpar food that's unacceptable. Let's start off I order a salted caramel latte and a simple avocado toast. The coffee that I received was full of ice and practically overflowing. Terms of flavor 0 hint of salted caramel or coffee. I practically got creamer with ice. Then onto the avocado toast, you would think with an early morning with very low foot traffic I would get my toast fairly quick and hot. I was extremely wrong! I waited forever for my toast and was even able to order dim sum across the plaza and get it before my toast was finished. Then when I got it, the toast was soggy, greasy, no flavor and tasted like a toaster oven that hasn't been cleaned out for months. The sausage I ordered with it was 1 patty cut in half for $6......... that is ridiculous. My stomach started to feel uneasy after eating a quarter of it and I just couldn't even stomach it. This is the last time I'm going to order any food or anything from here. I am usually forgiving and try to look for the things they do right. But after paying $22 for soggy greasy avocado toast I am done. Mind you it's $22 just for the toast not the iced creamer.
Great service, freshly made drinks and treats. I was a little disappointed with my breakfast selection of a burger, it was really dry and lacked flavor. Bakers, Baristas & the Boodle Boss. Because somewhere between the coffee and pastries, Filipino flavors made a very convincing appearance for me. I've been coming to B&B since the beginning. After returning from the Philippines, I still had cravings that weren't easy to shake. I did what any reasonable person would do and followed my gut, which led me straight here. Went with the Tapsilog, and I'm glad I did. Next level. The steak, the garlic rice, the banana ketchup, everything was perfect. Even the plating. Coffee has always been consistent here. The Spiced mocha, Salted caramel latte, Vanilla bean, Matcha, and many others I've tried all show real care, both in flavor and presentation. Pastries rotate, but the quality stays steady. Even the draft beer has also been consistently solid. No benchwarmers in the lineup. Love the Matcha Mousse Cheesecake! Over time, I have noticed some inconsistencies with the food. Even the plating can vary, though that part matters less to me. The Tapsilog steak can be perfect one visit, then noticeably gristly the next. The garlic rice is usually on point, but occasionally shows up mushy or slightly undercooked. The Pork Belly Bowl follows a similar pattern. Most of the time it is excellent, but every now and then the pork belly runs a little dry, with the rice experiencing the same variance. That said, everything else I've tried over the years has been excellent, which is why I keep coming back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside, the space is warm, modern, and relaxed, the kind of place that works just as well for a quick coffee as it does for lingering longer than planned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside seating wraps it up nicely, making it an easy stop on sunny mornings, but more so early afternoons for me, since sometimes I don't feel like getting my butt out of bed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The offerings here are anything but lacking. Plenty of pastries, desserts, coffees, and food. I support this lifestyle.

Set in a very busy plaza, of which my complaint is that the parking lot is not up to code. Parking aisles are too narrow. Not the fault of Bakers & Baristas but noteworthy. B & B offers a lot. We went after lunch for a drink and dessert. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is relaxing but upbeat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come again. Happy New Year. Ok, bye.
I came in for coffee and do buckle down and do a presentation for work. I needed the space and time to focus. I got the salted caramel drink and it was good. I really wanted a pancake but it is no longer offered so I went for the French Toast. It was okay.. I wish it was a bit more softer with more fruit but can't complain it was good. Me and my husband took a 2hr drive day trip here for brunch for our 26yr anniversary and it was our first time visiting. I've had this place bookmarked for a bit and I've been wanting to come since I love supporting foods/drinks that represent my homeland. Places like this I hold near and dear because I didn't grow up in PI so finding places like this is always nice. This spot is not hard to find. It's nice and clean inside. There's lots of tables inside and outside and they have a variety of food options, pastries and lots of drinks to boost your energy. As always, Filipino food is always much better at home, but the food here was very good, it was nice and clean. Flavor was delicious and the main reason for the visit was to try that cereal milk cake and I highly recommend it! Staff was nice, we didn't have a whole lot of interaction, but they were fast and they all looked busy. This looks like a nice place to hangout. Lots of people come here and bring their laptops to work or do their homework and they play good 90s music, so it seems like a good place to catch up on work.
This establishment has a new owner. They open 9 am to 4 pm on the weekends. The quality of the food and coffee has possibly gotten a bit better. Hope the portions stay the same. The pork belly was cooked perfectly the inside melted in your mouth like butter and the outside nice and crispy. I ordered a hazelnut chewy with my oat milk latte it wasn't too sweet and reminded me of a flat brownie. I will be back!
Still serving great food although this is the first time in long while that I came for brunch. Breakfast toast is a generous meal of avocado toast plus soft scrambled eggs, I added bacon to mine. Tapsilog has a good amount of marinated beef plus garlic fried rice topped with an egg, plus pickled carrots or achara. I was told there has been a change in ownership so the menu seems to be pared down. The baked pastry case still looks quite tasty. Cakes here still delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Minimalist furnishings and lighting has not been changed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You place your order at the counter and food is then delivered to you, for that reason, food was not all ready at the same time so our eating was staggered. Self service for water and utensils.
Cute cafe! Couple of menu and drink options and lots of parking in the lot. Service was friendly and quick. We got the breakfast burrito and mushroom sisig to share. Glad we did because I would have felt too full eating the burrito by myself. Burrito was delicious. Tater tots inside were super crispy and it came with a sauce that gave it lots of flavor. The sisig was good but really salty. The lettuce was definitely needed plus many cups of water. Otherwise cooked well!
This place has been on my list of places to try for a while. I'm not much of a brunch person, so I tend not to go to these places often, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food! I got the pork belly bowl and it was really delicious! The pork was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. The egg, rice, and cabbage slaw, and pickled veggies really blended in well together with the pork. Would highly recommend! It was filling without being too heavy. This place sort of gives me the same vibes of Kei Concepts restaurants down in the OC area. They've got amazing food for a fair price, and lovely interior design. I once had their matcha mousse cake at a relative's birthday party and really, really liked it! It's a unique flavor, but definitely a delicious one. There's a lot of parking in the plaza, but it gets packed really easily, so you might have to drive around for a spot.

This was my first time visiting Bakers & Baristas but not my first time trying there macaroons. My daughter has been treating me to macaroons on special occasions and I absolutely love them! I can't have them from anywhere else because these hit the spot so hard that no one can compete. I personally have not tried anything else, but my kids have enjoyed other treats from this place. They are located in Cerritos at a very busy shopping plaza and there's plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't expect the bakery to be an actual restaurant. There was a good crowd, sitting at tables and eating and drinking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. They make nice gifts too, as they can put it in a treat box in an ice brown paper bag. I definitely need to come back and try their drinks and something else from their menu. read more

We ordered the Vanilla Bean Latte and the Mocha Latte, and both were solid choices that we really enjoyed. For food, I had the Pork Belly Bowl. It came with garlic rice and about five large pieces of pork belly. While the portion was generous, I found the pork a little dry and chewy, and I definitely needed water to push it down. My boyfriend, on the other hand, really enjoyed his Breakfast Smash Burger. It was much thicker than we expected, definitely not a traditional smashed burger, and could have used a little more sauce. The bun had a nice crispy crust though. The side of fries were a standout: crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the chocolate chip cookie for dessert. It was large and thin, and since it was served before we were ready to eat it, we asked if they could warm it up again later and they gladly did. The cookie was softer and the chocolate melted nicely. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. You order at the counter before finding a table, and there's plenty of indoor seating. We would have loved to sit outside, but all of the shaded patio tables were occupied, and it was a little too hot to sit in the sun. One detail I especially appreciated was that the tables have purse hooks underneath. I'd definitely come back for the coffee if I'm in the area but I'd probably try a different entree. read more

Yummy brunch with Filipino flavors. Everything was so well seasoned, I particularly enjoyed the pork belly bowl and breakfast burrito. They also had a selection of desserts, which was tempting, but I didn't end up trying those. I visited a while ago, and back then the prices seemed quite steep for the amount of food that we received. Do not get the chicken and waffle!!! Chicken is more dry than dirt, nothing but breading. For the price, definitely NOT worth it. The waffle was the only thing in my plate that I ate and it was so thin. Probably won't be coming back. read more

Enjoying a cup of espresso tonic and some brunch food with a friend! Bakers & Baristas was chosen by my friend who lives in this area. You order the things at the register and then take a seat at any of the open tables. Put down the little table number, and then it's off to just hanging out. I really enjoyed this place because we weren't rushed and people here were all super nice. I ordered an espresso to nice with yuzu and this was my first time trying a drink like this. It came half white and half brownish in color. My friend said I would have to stir it all together and then drink it. The yuzu flavor was quite strong but also because it was iced and a hot day this was pretty refreshing. Food-wise we ordered two meals and split both of them together. The first dish was an Asian inspired meal with garlic rice and marinated sirloin, called Tapsilog. This was a hearty meal and I am glad we shared! The garlic rice might need a bit more garlic but since it is in the morning it was still fine. Our second dish was the breakfast bowl with no added protein, but if you want you could add some bacon, chicken sausage, or grilled chicken. Since it already came with eggs we thought it would be fine and it was! This bowl is packed with yumminess and the roasted potatoes are delicious! The bowl itself is designed pretty and everything inside tastes well together! A must if you ask me. So overall we loved this place and would totally come back! read more

I went with a group and we all tried different things. Not a fan of the burger. They said it needed seasoning. The tapsilog did not stand out. It had some of the flavor but I feel like it was missing something. Also, for $26, the plate just wasn't filling enough. Too small of a portion for me. I asked if they had Spanish latte and the cashier recommended a substitute and mentioned it was basically the same thing. It absolutely was not. Not even close. I also got a whole tres leches cake but man that was the most disappointing. It was 80% cream, hardly any of the cake. The cookie was good but not for the price. Overall, I was not a fan and I don't plan on going back. read more

Bakers and Baristas has been on my list to try, and I finally made my way there for brunch! You order at the counter, and they'll give you a number to put on your table. You can choose where you want to sit. When your food is ready, someone will deliver it to your table. Water is self-serve. We got Jimbo's Burrito which has shredded bacon and chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, monterey cheese, avocado, tater tots, and chipotle crema. It also comes with a side of salsa. It was pretty good overall but a bit salty. I liked that the salsa helped bring some acidity and cut through the heaviness. We also got the Pork Belly Bowl comes with garlic rice, freid egg, atchara, and sesame cabbage slaw. If you don't know what atchara is (I had to look this up too haha), it's pickled unripe green papaya! The pork belly was so yummy! Tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly! I also loved the sauce that came with it! Getting a bite of the pork belly, rice, slaw, and atchara all in one bite was perfection! Also got a slice of their famous Milk and Cereal Cake for dessert. It's a tres leches cake but with fruit pebbles. It comes with a side of tres leches that you can pour over it too! It's very sweet, so if you have a major sweet tooth, this one's for you! I got their pork belly bowl and iced americano. Prices are reasonable, the entree tasted amazing! The pork belly was very crisp, their soy sauce with vinegar was amazing too. The employees are nice and helpful. We came on a Saturday and there were enough parking spaces but if you're going with a bigger group, it may be difficult to find seating right away. You'll eventually find space but you may need to wait a little while. Food is amazing, enough parking space in the plaza. I'd highly recommend! The vibe is cozy and lots of yummy pastries as well. read more
The four of us enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Bakers & Barista. It's located in a large plaza with plenty of shared parking. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. Their menu offers a mix of Asian and Filipino fusion dishes. I had the breakfast bowl, which was amazing. It is loaded with roasted veggies, cheese, eggs, and potatoes. I'm glad I added chicken, as it was perfectly tender. My husband got the mushroom sisig, which had a bit too much heat for me but was just right for him. Our friends enjoyed a pork belly bowl and a breakfast burrito, both of which they loved. I paired my meal with a vanilla bean latte, and we all shared the milk and cereal cake--so good! I also learned from their website that on weekends they operate as Luka with a different menu, and now I can't wait to come back and try it. read more

We LOVE going to Bakers and Baristas! Servers are always nice and friendly & the food always slaps!! We normally would order the Tapsilog & Crispy Pork belly bowl but today I switched my order for a Breakfast Smash Burger and it did not disappoint! We're regulars here and will continue coming here because the quality of food is amazing! read more
One of my favorite cafe brunch spots in Cerritos. All their drinks are good - however my only gripe is that I wish they were hotter! I always feel like the drinks are like lukewarm when we get them. Food wise I love all their pastries, cakes and entrees. I will say this is very much an LA price kinda place for Cerritos. 2 people having a coffee and breakfast can't leave without spending like 50 bucks which seems like a treat versus a place I can come to often. Had breakfast at Bakers & Baristas and was seriously impressed! We tried the Tapsilog Bowl and the Pork Belly Bowl -- both were flavorful and hearty. The Tapsilog Bowl was a standout with tender beef tapa, perfectly cooked garlic rice, and a fried egg on top. The Pork Belly Bowl was just as delicious -- the pork belly was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with flavor. Awesome bakery, coffee spot, and brunch spot. Big menu and comfortable space. It was hard for me to choose what to get but I settled for my usual latte and croissant combo. Absolutely would come back for the food. Casual. Good service. Parking can get difficult during peak hours. Please come and create your own adventure. read more
BAKERS & BARISTAS is a pastry shop-bakery conveniently located in a giant shopping center on South Street in Cerritos with its own large and free parking lot. This super cute bakery also sell some artisanal food products. Their cakes are not cheap but, depending on your taste, budget, risk threshold, is worth it. Their UBE TIRAMISU CAKE is delicious. The flavor combination and idea is great. Not sure if I could call it tiramisu though. The lady who helped us was super patient and friendly. There are plenty of chairs and tables outside if you want to get smaller desserts. read more
Came here around 9am for breakfast with my daughter. First time here so wasn't sure what to order. I opted for the breakfast sandwich with chicken sausage. Didn't realize it didn't come with breakfast potatoes. I'll remember that for next time. Got my daughter a classic croissant, a side of bacon and an apple juice. I got myself an ice latte. After ordering at the counter, you take your number to any table. There's communal counter with water, cups and napkins. After sitting for a few minutes my drink came with the croissant. Croissant was flaky and buttery. We both enjoyed that. Next, came the sandwich and bacon. Bacon was thick cut and came in 2 slices. My daughter liked it, but only finished one. She didn't care for the apple juice, which came in a can, not familiar with the brand. Now, for my sandwich. It looked good, big, pulled high with ingredients. I cut it in half and ate the egg pieces that fell off. I did not care for the sandwich. I could barely eat half. I tried my best to even finish the half. No fault to the bakery. It was my taste buds. I did not like the chicken sausage seasoning/flavor. It and the cheese were both too over powering for me. Everything else was fine. I did not give this place low stars. The place was clean and spacious. The food came out at a reasonable time. The food looked delicious. Can't knock them for any of that. It was just my taste buds. To each their own. I will definitely come back to try other items and avoid the ones I know aren't to my taste. read more

Been here multiple times usually for the pastries and drinks. The macarons and milk & cereal are the fam favorites. This time we came for breakfast. Service was quick and our server Darryl was helpful. Food was ok, the presentation and atmosphere were very much esthetically appealing. We'll definitely be back again! Thank you. read more
Bakers and Baristas was nice! The inside is small-ish and intimate and the staff was friendly. The main guy who served us was making googly eyes at a customer (probably his gf) and did require some major flagging down to get his attention sometimes .. and he forgot we ordered cake and had to go check out receipt before bringing it out ... but the food was good. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was so filling! It came with a spicy habenero salsa and it was so good! My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich and that thing was MASSIVE!! Naturally she had to cut it to enjoy it but they didn't skimp on the chicken or toppings! We also tried the milk and cereal cake which came with a leche-like drizzle which was way runnier than I expected (but good). It really soaked into the cake quickly and the texture takes less like cake and more like a sponge. All in all I did like this place but I'd be open to trying other places too. read more
Super cute spot!! Food was delicious- great twist of incorporating culture to their food and drinks. Great customer service from everyone- welcoming and clean. Tables and seating area was well spaced out and cozy. Parking available right in front as well as throughout the shared parking lot. read more

Over the years B&B has been very consistent with their pastries - the cookie flavors are different and I think about the hazelnut chew at least once a week lol. Their bakery menu is in transition as I stopped by recently and there aren't as many cakes however they have excellent pastries,l and other dessert items. Coffee is good too. Can't speak on the food much but I'll always recommend a stop here for their chocolate chip and hazelnut chew cookies. Both of these don't have a sugary after taste left in your mouth, just more cocoa and slightly bitter goodness. read more

One of the go to locations for brunch in Cerritos/Artesia, Bakers and Baristas is known for its Filipino fusion dishes. They also have a large selection of pastries and cakes with a few seasonal pastries that they rotate out. I can here with friend and the restaurant was packed as usual. It's an order, pay and self seated location. They have a few seats that isolated tables but they also have a large communal table where you and your party can grab seats at. I decided to try something different and ordered their Pork Belly Bowl and my friend got the Breakfast bowl. We also ordered their Matcha Black Sesame Einspanner which they can make in whole milk or oat. We both loved the drink and finished it before the end of our meal! It definitely tasted more like black sesame than matcha, so if you're ordering specifically for the matcha taste I would recommend going with their regular matcha latte. As for the for the dishes, my friend loved her breakfast bowl but I wasn't a big fan of the pork belly bowl. It was a bit on the greasier end. Although my dish was a miss in my end, I would still recommend for people to come visit as they have a slew of other dishes that will blow your taste buds away. Also, the restaurant closes down and reopens at night Friday through Sundays with a side restaurant project, Luka. If you get the chance to book a reservation, I please do! Prior to the change in ownership, Bakers & Baristas was my favorite for breakfast/brunch. Pricey but the quality and service made up for it (as you can see from my previous review and photos). I went back with some family on Wednesday morning, knowing they had a recent change in management, and was so incredibly disappointed. Upon first walking in, we noticed there was a fly in the baked goods case, so we skipped on cakes/cookies. We ordered a couple of Jimbo's burritos - they were stuffed with greasy tater tots, barely any egg or anything else...it was weird and heavy and definitely not what is used to be. I ordered the breakfast plate and asked to swap bacon for potatoes since I'm vegetarian. The girl taking our order had to ask other staff if it was ok, which they said it was, and then when they delivered the plate to the table, they gave me bacon. I had the girl who took my order take it back. As she walked away she knocked over the hot sauce, it loudly fell off the table onto the floor, and she kept on walking. Didn't come back to pick it up or apologize, it just gave off a vibe that she didn't care. She comes back to our table holding the same plate and I told her I can't eat it since the bacon was touching the rest of the food...she took it back and said they would fix it. Maybe 10 minutes later she comes back out with the plate. The potatoes were not crispy or super hot. I feel like they could have possibly remade the eggs but it seems like it could have been the same plate they tried serving me the first time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A nice, pleasant place with a great ambiance--perfect for brunch or a relaxed morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I missed the full menu this time since I was planning a big breakfast, but ended up ordering a couple of macarons and pastries. The pastry wasn't very fresh, but the macarons were really good and still tasted great even later. I ordered a regular Americano, which I enjoyed, and I love trying coffee at different places. Is there a set menu? From the pictures it looks like it's constantly changing
They have seasonal dishes and update a few items all the time. It's actually great! But sometimes your most favorite dish might be seasonal
Do they accommodate for nut allergies?
I don't believe any of their cakes or food has nuts in them. Call them to ask to be safe :)
Do they still carry George Howell coffee?
Did this place open yet since its remodel?
Does it get packed? What day/time is good to visit to avoid the crowd?
Weekends especially at brunch where all the crowds come

2 pm. Then start up again for dinner at 5 pm.
Is this place loud? Can I study here?
Moderate. Noise-wise, I'd compare it to Starbucks' atmosphere.
Do they have wifi?
Yes, but only Monday through Fridays, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. If you come during the evenings or weekend, you're out of luck. :(
Are there any Vegan options?
Yes there are some, my favorite that comes to mind is the grain bowl, vegan of course. I believe it comes with chicken if you don't ask for vegan. It's really good.
Do you do chicken and waffles for Saturday dinners?
They do starting today! Serving for brunch and dinner everyday
