Stopped in for Saturday evening dinner after a day on the beach at SGI. Plenty of servers buzzing around and trying to be attentive. I think we probably perturbed our actual server because it took us a while to make a food selection. I went against my personal rule about ordering brisket in the south (we can argue about whether FL is part of the south later) and ordered the brisket. It was a poor decision. The brisket was fall apart tender, but not lean enough for my preference. It was also somewhat cold and really lacked smoke. My sides were coleslaw and breaded okra. Wasn't a fan of the slaw either, but the okra was some of the best I've had in a long time. They have a variety of sauces. I just had the regular "sweet" sauce which had really good flavor. Dinner was a bit of a miss for us. Better ordering might have helped. The couple next to us had steaks and they looked great. May try that if we stop in again. read more

Rack of ribs was extremely dry. If you needed anything extra you have to work at getting the waitresses attention. You get the tiniest side of bbq sauce and the potato salad tastes like a poor copy of the potato salad you order at Publix. The baked beans were definitely sub par. We will not be returning . Amanda seated us and waited on our table. She was great and very personable. Gave her opinion when asked. We ordered 2 ribeyes, one 1/2 lbs hamburger, brisket fries, ribs and brisket potato. She brought several choices of sauce (Alabama white and sweet & spicy). Both sauces were very good. Every order was great. Ribeyes were cooked perfect and had a good charcoal taste. The brisket was good, not TX good but still tasty. The ribs were phenomenal. I was extremely surprised based on the lower ratings on Yelp. This is the best food of the week on SGI. I went on a bike ride from Eastpoint to Carrabelle today, and I passed this BBQ place. After finishing my ride, I decided to try it out. The restaurant is a large screened in porch with tables inside and outside the screen. Inside there are fans all around to ease the Florida heat. I ordered the sliced brisket which comes with two sides, and I asked the woman behind the counter if she preferred the coleslaw or the potato salad. She said, for what I was ordering (the brisket and the baked beans), the potato salad would go best. The brisket was good, but not the best I've had. I got the spicy bbq sauce which went well with it. The potato salad was good as well. I really liked the baked beans made with green or red peppers (nice touch!). I asked how long they have been open, and she told me they opened in November 2021. The place has a great atmosphere and you can even see the Bay from some of the tables. I hope to visit again, and will try some of their other dishes next time. read more
