I went back in January of this year, took me forever to find this place again. It is a hidden gem! They had so many delicious baked goods, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and some of them Vegan! Their Cinnamon Rolls were absolutely the best thing here. I don't remember the cashiers name, but he was awesome as well. Gave me a discount and let us have taste tests! He was super cool and definitely upped the vibes. The only negative was that they didn't have any sort of seating besides a wooden table that was off limits it seemed? But the owner let us sit there. Otherwise, it was not too expensive, it was delicious and overall, a completely memorable experience. I plan on going again for my birthday in December, I'll upload a photo then. read more

I went back and got a cinnamon roll and it was AMAZING. Great texture. Nice burnt sugar flavor along the edges. Gooey yummy frosting. There were a ton of cinnamon rolls there so go get one!! read more

First off, whether you are gluten-free or not, hands-down this place has the best cinnamon roll in the state of Utah, so if your wife is gluten-free and you think a place like this has nothing to offer you, you need to get in your car right now and drive to bountiful and get a cinnamon roll, you may need to get two! because you will want one later. I love the people behind This establishment and the work that goes into it. It's like the high-quality stuff that you would expect to get at your grandma's house with the care and intention in the ingredients while still being something decadent and delicious in everything they have. They were the first gluten free bakery around here and have really perfected everything they do! This is the best bakery for delicious things in the state of Utah, but you have to get the cinnamon roll or you haven't really experienced this! So grateful this place exists. They should have their stuff in stores read more

This is the third time I've tried this bakery. I didn't like the brownie or peanut butter bar the first time I came, they tasted almost bitter without sweetness, but I thought I'd try this bakery again and get other items. This time was great! The lemon bar is super good. The highlight was the lemon lavender cupcake. That's not something I'd normally try but I asked the girl behind the counter for a recommendation and am so glad I did! Really good. The cinnamon roll was great too. The blueberry lemon bar is good as well- very lemony if you like lemon. So glad I went back. Definitely worth a try. I'm not gluten free or vegan and pleasantly surprised. read more

Oh migh goodness, what a discovery! The best bakery around. And gluten free. I typically avoid gluten because I feel better, but I struggle because, let's be honest, bread without wheat tastes horrible. I love French baguettes or that Dutch crunch. Or SF sour dough. And so I was astonished that this GF bakery in Bountiful is delicious! Plus the people who work there are super kind. read more

I was skeptical yet eager to try this new bake shop on Main Street. As a gluten-free bake shop, i wasn't sure what to expect. They primarily use coconut flour and almond flour as replacement, along with other creative substitutes. I was surprised on a Friday afternoon to find a line and now I understand why. The treats are delicious! I ordered a sugar cookie, mint brownie, cookie grab bag, and bag of rolls. Apart from the mint brownie which was too "minty" (my daughter said it tasted like toothpaste), everything was so good. My favorite was one of the cookies, I think it was oatmeal chocolate chip. Having a child with a gluten intolerance it is hard to find treats that don't hurt her stomach and this place will become a favorite for sure. Definitely give them a chance to impress you, because they impressed me! read more

This is a great place to stop for those that struggle with food intolerances. The service is good but at times I wish more personable. They specialize in gluten free and vegan options. The flavors are rotational, so it's nice to have variety instead of a constant flavor choice. My husband surprised me with a birthday cake from the bakery and it was nice to have a cake I could actually eat and share with my family that wasn't frozen or gross. Amazing gluten free bakery! We have owned a gluten free bakery x 7 years and we are quite picky. We bought 10 diff desserts and a loaf of bread and it was spectacular!! As a gluten free person myself, I love this place! I've been to a lot of other gf bakeries and none have compared. I've always had good interactions with the staff and I enjoy all the goodies. I appreciate that they post on their Instagram what they have for the day. I do wish they would post prices or be more upfront with costs but honestly I am going to shell out anyway. read more

I gave up trying to come in for items advertised on their menu. I'm tired of looking forward to a certain treat all week and leaving disappointed every time. There's always an excuse. There's always the false promises to come back in a couple hours just to be told that they didn't get around to making them after all. It's a nice bakery and I love that it's local. I'm just tired of how unreliable the bakery has been since they've opened. The rotating schedule is nice but it's obviously overwhelming their capability to deliver. I shouldn't be leaving a bakery feeling bad about my visit. read more

We were wanting to do our wedding cake through here and we started our process in October last year. We got scheduled a cake tasting and got there and sat outside for over an hour waiting for ally to show, there were workers inside that wouldn't let us in and just watched us sit outside. After an hour they came out and told us ally isnt going to come and we need to reschedule. ( we would've loved to have been told over an hour ago that you knew you weren't going to make it) We happily reschedule and come back for the next appointment, ally again didn't show but thankfully they let us do the appointment with two other girls who were very sweet but I don't think know all the information they should've collected from us. Ally should've been there if she is in charge of the wedding cakes. We weren't asked all the questions we were supposed to be asked and we didn't know what we needed to be asking, having this been the first time we wedding cake shopped. We left and then I was told I could reach out to ally myself, since she is the main wedding cake person. I reached out asking what our next steps need to be, if we need to make a payment and when to secure our date. She just kept telling me I should've gotten all this information at the cake tasting and said her and I needed to meet to go over everything. She offered to call and never did. I waited until after holidays understating it's a busy time and still the same things. Kept telling me this should've been dealt with already and that we needed to get on the same page, yet she never had anytime we could talk details or meet. Ive been trying since October to figure out when I need to make a payment to secure our spot, I am a huge planner and wanted to get everything figured out as soon as possible. She then messaged me this week saying I need to make a payment or I will lose my spot and other people are wanting my date. I have been trying since October to pay for my cake!! I asked her if I could go in right then and there and pay and she said no I could the next day, which I wasn't able to do. I kept texting her with times I could be there and pay and she stopped responding to me until I messaged saying we are going to part ways because we are giving them a big chunk of money to not be prioritized and she responded immediately saying thank you sounds good. If you didn't want to do our cake that is totally okay, but now we are left planning last minute when we tried to be on top of things months ago. Bad communication and making it feel like the customers fault when the 'cake lady' couldn't show up to any of the meetings to know what is going on and help guide us. At the cake tasting all the cupcakes were hard and clearly from sitting in the shelf all day. We were really excited to support a gluten free and local business. read more

Everything here is incredible. I have celiac disease and this is my go-to for all of my baked good needs in the Salt Lake valley area. There are some other bakeries with GF options, but they don't even compare to this bakery. I come here every couple of months and it never disappoints. The cinnamon rolls are awesome, the orange rolls and raspberry rolls are even BETTER- if you come here you MUST try the orange rolls, and ask them to heat it up. So soft, fresh, and delicious. A friend brought them to my class for his bday once and all of the non-GF people were blown away by how good they are. I've had several of their bars, cupcakes, and cookies as well. Cookies are amazing- so soft and not crumbly and dry like store-bought. The cupcakes are good too, but I think their other offerings are better. The Carmelita (bar) is my favorite, as well as the strawberry cheesecake bar. Moreover, I ordered my 1st wedding anniversary cake from this bakery. I tried to save the top tier of my wedding cake, but it didn't last. The original was banana's foster, and we were so disappointed that it didn't last. Sweet Cake recreated it for me! They had a banana cake and it was more than I could have hoped for. SO GOOD. So moist, tasty, everything. Beautifully decorated. This place is my favorite!! read more

It's a pretty cute little shop with lots of tasty looking options. They had all sorts of rolls, cookies, cupcakes, bars, and even baking mixes. We decided on a Cinnamon Roll and a Raspberry Cream Cheese Roll. They were both very good! This is coming from 2 people who are not gluten free by any means! My father-in-law is celiac and we thought, since we were in the neighborhood, that we'd sample some of their treats to see if they are any good and were very pleasantly surprised. Now we can't wait for him to visit so we can surprise him with tons of delicious gluten free treats. read more

My wife stopped bye to get our family of 5 cupcakes, brownies, and cinnamon roles to share. We have 3 boys ages 14, 16,and 18. They took a bite of each one and said that it was horrible. They felt like they took a bite of a cube of butter. Are boys aren't picky eaters and especially when it comes to a treat. We tried it ourselves and had to spit it out, horrible!! Don't waste your time and $$$. It's to bad too, we need fun little bakeries here in bountiful. read more

Drove from SLC to grab some GF dinner rolls for Christmas dinner. The customer service was AMAZING! The cute girl at the shop was extremely helpful. I watched as the owner walked another customer through the ins and outs of being GF (he was newly diagnosed) and was super impressed at her knowledge and care. Bought a sugar cookie because it looked too good to pass up, and it was delish! Please keep in mind that it's gluten free, so there's always going to be a difference between the "real thing" and the GF version. But as GF cookies go, this one was a winner! It would be helpful to paint on your window front " All Gluten Free" . For those who need such, you're heaven sent, welcome to Bountiful. For those that don't, it's misleading. You say " gluten free options " but give none. Your entire menu, all gluten free. Some ( like my niece ) can't eat rice or almond flour. Poor quality products overpriced. They overcharged me too. The young girl didn't know about the products very well. Very poor poor customer service too :( The bread was burned & dry. I ordered a cake for my five year old granddaughter. Paid in advance,then two days later get a call saying that the girl didn't charge me correctly and they needed 5.00 more .I asked about getting two cupcakes made for my granddaughters party with her little friends she said sure and no cost . I did offer to pay but no she would do them even though they normally only do a dozen . Walked in today to pick up the cake and cupcakes. No cupcakes because I didn't pay in advance !!! I found this bake shop looking for a gluten free bakery for my wife. We have been ordering about twice a month now. We get a box with a surprise of baked goods. My wife loves having the delicious cookies, bars, etc. to enjoy with a cup off coffee. How blessed you are if you live close by and can enjoy all the gluten free foods they offer. Giving a four star because this place is close and there really isn't many other bakeries close by. Brother in law is gluten free and I love how easy it is to grab him a treat. I enjoy most of the treats. The carameleta(don't know how they spell it) is my all time favorite but they don't have it much which is sad. Good place to go for a treat in Kaysville. read more

Their baked goods are delightful! Too bad their hours of operation are the pits. The Kaysville location is closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; each week. I cannot count the number of times I've driven past the bakery on one of those days, and wished it were open. With another bakery/competitor located a mere block East of Sweet Cake, you'd think they'd have more competetive hours? As far as the sweets go... I've NEVER been able to tell that they are gluten free! They have an apricot-crumble bar that is one of my favorite bakery items of all time! Recently, I ordered a texas sheet cake bar, and lemon bars; and they were better than homemade! I do wish that they packaged up their goodies a little more attractively. If they were packaged as amazingly as they tasted; I'd make this my "go-to" place for goodies to deliver to girlfriends, and neighbors! As is, they package things individually, in brown-paper sleeves; and in plastic containers. In short, Sweet Cake has the potential to be great. A few tweaks, and they'd be golden, in my opinion. read more

This place is gluten free heaven!!!! My mom eats gluten free so I stopped in here right before Mother's Day. The selection was pretty limited especially compared to online but I ended up getting two carmelitas, two bite sized lemon cheesecakes, two bite sized raspberry cheesecakes, two fruit pizzas, and a banana bar. $30. The banana bar looks childish with sprinkles but my husband begged for it... it was so good - best item we got! TRY IT! Everything was delicious although a little sweet. My sister has recently joined the ranks of the gluten-intolerant, the contentious wheat objectors, the anti-bread brigade. Whilst on a visit from out of town, she sought out a decent little bakery to satisfy her sweet tooth, and I think Sweet Cakes did the job! It's a bright little shop with a simple display of cookies, confections, cupcakes and treats. We picked a few delights from the sample tray to decide what to splurge on. We finally settled on a fudge crinkle, a caramel apple cupcake and a caramel blondie. Sis consumed the crinkle before I ever had a chance to convince her to share, but the cupcake was resplendent! The cream cheese frosting was fluffy and flavorful, with a gentle drizzle of caramel. The cake, perfectly moist, was near perfection. The true triumph of this bakery comes from the fact that the consumer doesn't walk away with the feeling disappointment from lack of gluten. Everything we tried had a lovely texture and flavor. The staff could have been a bit more friendly and the prices were a little steep, but it's worth cost for a little bite of heaven. Support local! read more

Established in 2009.

Not many people can say they love what they do. Not many can say that what they do brings them happiness (you know, to the depths of your soul kind of happiness). Not many can say that what they do makes them proud. But I can. This is what Sweet Cake has given me and I hope to others as well. I am so proud of my wonderful staff, and my lovely bakers who "get it. " They see every day the joy our little bakery brings to people. It isn't an easy process. There are long hours involved, many failed attempts to get it right, and endless amounts of trial and error. Many of my employees and customers don't need to eat Gluten Free, but they do because they like the way our products taste, and feel better eating something that is handmade, preservative free and made with fresh ingredients. Nothing fancy or elaborate, just simple, great tasting Gluten Free treats. Homemade taste, high quality ingredients, handmade with love. Because everyone deserves something sweet!

Meet the Business Owner: Allison R.

For all of my life I have enjoyed the process of cooking and baking. My cookbooks are my treasures. I read them like I read literature...the same ones over and over. I love pouring over my recipes and creating unique and beautiful dishes for my family and friends. Learning to cook Gluten Free was not easy. Baking however, was an entirely different challenge! Nothing was the same. Step by step, year by year, the more I tried the more I learned. And the more I learned, the more creative I became. Yet, the feeling of hunger was still there when it came to baked goods. I dreamt of chocolate cake. The answer, I decided, was to create my own flour blend Trial after trial, hundreds of variations later; I finally got the magical combination that became my Master Mix and my Master Lite Mix. Honeybud has a lavender base flavored ice cream. Some people say it tastes too soap-like, but I did not have that issue. It tasted like a subtle flower with delicious honey on it. If your actual cutoff is earlier than your posted hours, update your hours. Your customers' time is valuable too

The owners need to speak with the managers (or whoever keeps the products in stock), so they can perform inventory checks and ensure that they keep the bare basics available for customers (like vanilla ice cream and whipped cream). If this place goes under, it will be because of their inability to keep items they offer in stock. Sadly, I will not return. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." They will not get a chance to fool me thrice, not even for *thrice* cream ;)
