Seeing some of these negative reviews is honestly surprising because Our Kitchen Cafe is amazing. We have been regulars at this restaurant for almost 3 years now, and recently, have been planning our future living situation around it as we feel it'll be tough to move away! Everyone is so friendly and the service is quick. I remark every single time about how quick they are to serve us our food. They have remembered my family and bring us our drinks without even needing to ask. Their food is delicious, and we appreciate the authenticity. If you haven't been, and aren't near by to partake in their amazing food regularly, you HAVE to try the Philly asada omelet. You won't regret it!! I saw a comment about the restaurant being dark, but the lighting seems great. Anything much brighter would probably upset my eyes, especially early in the morning (as that's when we typically go). Someone also mentioned the wait is long. The restaurant isn't huge, and if you go at a time when everyone else is also going, usually any time after 9, then of course it'll be busy. We finally woke up early enough on a Saturday to try this place. I love that there's a Mexican breakfast place in Davis County! We arrived around 8:20 and snagged the last parking spot and table. The service was prompt and attentive from start to finish. My favorite item was the banana pancakes- soft and flavorful, would definitely get again. Hash browns had a nice texture (crunchy outside with soft inside), but weren't seasoned. My House Benedict said it came with a medium-cooked egg, but it was absolutely raw/fully soft yolk, so that was a bummer. The chorizo eggs and beans were flavorful. I may have just ordered wrong- they have lots of great-sounding food like breakfast tacos and crepes. Will need to return! read more

Great food, excellent service, nice and clean in a good location with a lot of people enjoying breakfast. I had pancakes, eggs over easy, and bacon, all of which was perfectly cooked and delicious. They were nice enough to accommodate my request for iced coffee even though it was not really something they do. Coffee was good. My only complaint was the "butter" they served with the pancakes, it's the absolute worst margarine I've ever had, it was like spreadable styrofoam. Bright white, zero flavor and did not even melt. I asked for just the little packs of butter but they told me they didn't have it. I can't imagine being happy spreading that stuff on toast. My family just moved to Bountiful about a month ago and we have been trying a lot of different restaurants to add to our rotation. This restaurant by far had the best breakfast we had been served out here. We all loved the pancakes that out waitress served with warm syrup. I absolutely love breakfast. My father, who grew up on a farm, instilled in my the motto that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I still believe it! I love making it, and I love getting breakfast at restaurants! The Our Kitchen Cafe is a place I've been wanting to try out for awhile. I recently had the chance to go twice in two weeks! They offer delicious Southwestern, Hispanic, and American breakfast and brunch cuisine in a beautiful new building. I found that a few family members who had been working in the restaurant industry decided to open a restaurant of their own. They were able to get a business loan and built a new building for their restaurant on north Redwood road. The cinder block construction is sturdy and insulates the diners from outdoor heat and cold perfectly. It's cool in the heat and warm in the cold. The interior design style is industrial farmhouse. Even though this family restaurant opened right before the COVID-19 lockdowns, they managed to keep it going and it is thriving today! From what I saw, lots of locals- couples, families, and groups of singles know where to go get the good stuff! The service is impeccable! They're quick to greet and seat, and I never got to the bottom of my drink without another appearing. You'll want to get there early on Saturday mornings unless you don't mind a wait. As far as the food goes, I've tried many of their dishes, and the breakfast empanadas, omelets, waffles, crepes, and eggs benedicts (yes, they have three) are all amazing. I also tried the chilaquiles, which are a popular house special. I've grown up eating Mexican food, but have never had them! They were crispy almost like country potatoes, with eggs, cheese and, of course carne asada (steak) on top! I've eaten a lot of flank steak at Mexican restaurants, and if that's what they used here, it was the juiciest I've ever had! I suspect it might be a nicer cut of meat, perhaps sirloin, that has been pounded flat. The salsa that came with it was a touch too limey and acidy for me, but still good, and when eaten with the rest of the plate, it paired well with the savory flavors of the soft cotija cheese, black beans, and carne asada. The breakfast empanadas converted me instantly. It's like a traditional American breakfast wrapped up in a crust, baked to perfection and served with salsa! They were just a touch oily- probably from the overstuffed middle, but so delicious! I'm going back for some more of those. All of the traditional American breakfast foods are also very well made. My daughter, a gourmet foody, pointed out that the hollandaise sauce on her eggs benedict was actually the "real" sauce and perfectly made- creamy and smooth. This is not an easy thing to do in a restaurant. Many places substitute a "fake" hollandaise sauce that's easier to make quickly without ending up curdled- but in my opinion fake hollandaise is just not as good as the real sauce... as long it is made right. The omelettes are amazing! Too many breakfast places put the wrong ratio of eggs to fillings. This place has worked out the perfect ratio. There is just enough of each to really taste them without them overpowering the others. The fillings are lightly browned with the eggs being cooked all the way through without being burnt. The cheddar cheese is generously present but not overwhelming. The ingredients are fresh and the cooking is really superb! It's rare that I can find a breakfast or brunch place that doesn't at least occasionally overcook or undercook some of the dishes served. Here, everything was prepared perfectly and brought out steaming from the kitchen. Oh, I'm making myself hungry. I think it's time to go back! read more

I usually never rate breakfast/brunch places 5 stars, but WOW this place is LEGIT!! Arrived around 10:30am on a Sunday and there was no line to be seated. They have some limited counter spots and plenty of tables. Waitress was very attentive, friendly, fast service, food is quick to come out, and most importantly the food is super TASTY!! Also a bonus the portion sizes were quite big. My friend got the huevos rancheros, we split a stack of banana pancakes (batter is well good and perfectly griddled), syrup was perfectly sweet. I got the corned beef hash, easily one of the best corned beef hash I've had and it also came with hash browns, 2 slices of toast, and 2 eggs (any style you want - i got them over easy).
