Amazing experience! I live in the OC, needed a last minute facial and face wax. Ms. Depaola accommodated my last minute request and greeted me with the best customer service I've received in a long time. I am always weary about facials as you never know if you'll walk out with extraction scars or pain. She was so gentle and my dead skin came to life! Clara was quick! I was in and out in 15 minutes. The wax that she used was great in that the barely-there redness I had went away in about 5 minutes. And best of all, that wax didn't cause me to break out like I normally do after a waxing. Her prices are so insanely reasonable!!! The only thing I wish she would have done was trim the length of my eyebrow hair and do a quick once-over with tweezers for my upper lip. I am not one to write reviews, however, I felt so compelled to after one of my services done here at SweetCheeks by the owner, Clara. I had first come across her business when she was renting a space on Hollister and I would go for sugaring services. She was always really sweet and professional and I totally loved how affordable and accessible her services were. Fast forward, as I recently moved back to Santa Barbara, I had been looking for a place to get eyelash extensions. I ended up having a terrible experience with another local business and that's when I saw that Sweet Cheeks also did eyelash extensions, so I booked an appointment immediately. This is when I learned Clara's business had now moved to Isla Vista and upon first entering her space, I was so impressed and at awe with how far along the aesthetic and aura of her space looked and felt like. She was still the sweet and professional woman I had met all those years ago and she left my eyelashes to perfection for my birthday! So I ended up booking her again for a refill. Unfortunately, one of my eyes for whatever reason didn't retain the eyelashes and more than half had fallen off within two days since my refill. I was hesitant to reach out to Clara to see if she would fix the issue (having had a terrible experience with a previous eyelash extension esthetician) but decided to anyways. Clara was super responsive and had me come in immediately to resolve the issue. She spent an hour and a half fixing both eyes free of charge and offered some reasons as to why it could've happened. She left my eyelashes looking AMAZING. I truly love her professionalism and care/attention she provides all her customers. "Clara was fast, kind, and friendly. I'll be back for my next sugaring service with her!" My previous post as a happy customer. Clara has decided to personally attack me as a client because she kept making schedule errors. She never communicated with me that she preferred ONLINE BOOKING only and kept letting me schedule via text with her (I do that with all my other estheticians) but she kept double booking me because of it so couldn't see me when I was scheduled and then her new system never notified me of my appointment until an hour before, I couldn't make it and felt really bad but she then decided to blame me for all of the errors and said I was "aggressive" even sent me screen shots of my messages to her (which none seemed aggressive) and pretty much went off on me. She made me feel like I was a criminal for giving her business which I find odd. As a fellow esthetician this type of behavior between a client and professional in the service industry is not acceptable. *Blocked* good riddance read more

This place is AMAZING! I'm naturally a tan person but wanted to be extra tan for stagecoach. I was really nervous because I've never gotten a spray tan and I didn't want to look orange but my tan came out perfect. Sweet cheeks is AMAZING in customer service. Not only did I get to reschedule my appointment for an earlier time, but after I left I didn't wear pants and I got an imprint Mark and my tan rubbed off. I was able to go back in the same day and have it fixed for free. Later that night I spilled juice down my leg causing instant streaks and they offered to AGAIN fix the damage that was caused my be. The brazilian sugaring doesn't capture all the hairs, and I think it is more painful than hot waxing. But, I suppose sugaring is still beneficial in the sense that it does not irritate the skin as much as hot wax. However, the full body spray tan I received here was not as satisfactory. It was maybe $30 at least, and it wasn't as dark as I wanted. And I'm not sure if the application was uneven or what, because within two days of my appointment, my stomach was already streaking and not developing correctly. It looked strange. read more

Came here after months of not touching my brows due to a terrible brow experience...Clara knew exactly what to do for my brows regarding my face shape and personal thickness preference! I would have liked them to be left a little more natural, but am glad that now they can grow out with the integrity of their natural shape. Took off a star because she was fifteen minutes late and I had to wait in a small room with a nauseating amount of perfume and other chemical scents, and there's a red, burning area under one of my eyebrows that hasnt gone away since the waxing (four days ago). She was extremely fast and efficient, and she could tell that I was in more pain than normal (since I waited so long) that she tried to keep me distracted with casual conversation. I cannot express how excellent Clara is at what she does. She is professional, patient and she always makes you feel comfortable. Not only does she make time to book whenever I need to come in, she is also very understanding when I've had to cancel on short notice (not to make it into a habit) however, it was comforting to know that she is willing to accommodate and reschedule whenever necessary. This is the first place I have ever done sugar waxing, and I will never go back to regular french wax. Sugar wax removes any dead skin, it will not burn you, and it is also a lot more sanitary.
