This store is super duper adorable on the inside. It looks like an explosion of fun on the inside with all the color and decorations. The employees were very friendly and helpful with helping us decide what we wanted. Their display case had a selection of regular sized cupcakes and in front of each regular sized cupcake had a mini version of it. I was initially mislead thinking what they had on display was what they had available which was just one of each flavor. Luckily the employee provided me great relief when they told me they had a bunch more in the back. if you're not feeling for a cupcake they also serve some beverages and other desserts like macaroons, cookies, and gummies. We bought half a dozen of mini cupcakes for $9 and beautifully delicious. I don't remember the names but will just list the flavors : coconut, M&M, peanut butter(2), carrot cake, and hostess. For each of the cupcakes, the cake was soft and moist and balanced well with the icing on the top. I would definitely come again when I'm in the area to get some more! It was my first time in the new location which is easy to access off of New Haven Avenue. I placed my order for my cupcakes in advance online on their site and it was super easy. Pick up was quick and I was in and out in minute. When I got home, I noticed that I was given an incorrect cupcake and I messaged them on Instagram and they were delightful about it and provide me with the correct one free of charge. Decided to give Sweet Cupcasions a try. They were open for a short window on Saturday. D They had only a few cupcakes left, but a good variety of mini cupcakes as well. One of the cupcakes I ordered was a carrot cake cupcake. I specifically asked if there were raisins, and very excited to know there weren't because they don't belong in carrot cake, but so many bakeries throw them in. I knew my birthday was going to fall during quarantine and to make it special, I wanted to get a nicer, small cake to celebrate, rather than a typical sheet cake or ice cream cake from the grocery store. I saw that Sweet Cupcasions was doing curbside pickup and placed an order 2 weeks before my birthday. I didn't specify much, just the size, the flavors, and asked to write "Happy Birthday Emily" - I figured it would just be a simple, small cake. Boy was I wrong! They went above and beyond to make my simple request SO special. They wrote my name on a little edible plaque in gold, used edible glitter, and adorable sprinkles all throughout. It was such a pleasant surprise to get something so beautiful. And on top of that, it tasted fantastic. The cake was moist and flavorful, the buttercream just the right flavor. After eating breakfast next door, it only made sense to pop in to get something sweet. Definitely a cute place- loved the bright colors and clean feel. As someone else had mentioned, it didn't feel like there were a whole lot of options. Maybe they don't make many varieties-but what they do have is delicious? We only tried two cake-pops, oreo & vanilla. Both were good, but nothing to write home about. We too, were disappointed in the $10 minimum for credit card usage- we rarely carry cash, but thankful on this occasion we did. I arrived only an hour and 40 minutes after they opened and they were already closed! And it's not the first time it happened to me. They claimed to be open from 11 to 5 but were closed for the day at 12:40! At this point one would think that they would either shorten their hours or make more cupcakes but instead they simply show contempt for their customers. If you order on their website you have to do it the day before! Heaven forfend you try to order at 3:01pm or you can't get cupcakes for 2 days! Cute little cupcake shop in the heart of downtown Milford. Love the interior, very girly (decorated in pink), warm and inviting. I have found the 2 owners to be very pleasant and helpful when there. Reasonable prices and the cupcakes I've tried so far were good. It's neat that a food network contest winner is right from the area. I am happy to support a small, local business like this. My last visit I tried 2 cupcakes and although tasty, could have used some filling in the center...found the consistency a slight bit dry. I'm so glad this was right to the place we decided to brunch! This shop is so well decorated! Lots to look at and very well displayed! The Sunday Brunch cupcake, Almond Joyful and 14k were the favorites! I'm usually not a fan at all of buttercream but this shop DOES IT RIGHT. I've tried this establishment in the past and didn't much care for it. I have to say, I tried six new flavors this past month, and I am a fan! The chipper was so good I loved the frosting infused with cookie dough. The berries and cream was sooo yummy I loved the raspberries baked inside. The hummingbird was delicious. After brunch at the Corner, it just made sense to stop by this cute cupcake place next door! Walking in, my first impression was how cute and well decorated it was! Seemed like a child's dream and made me so happy! Greeted by a smiling face behind the counter and a fair amount of options, it was hard to make a decision. I decided to try one of the winning cupcakes from Cupcake Wars, three of a kind. That was the only winning cupcake available that day. Chocolate lovers, three of a kind, is the cupcake for you! And as a fellow chocoholic, I loved it--a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting filled with more chocolate? Yes please. My friend had the Prince Charming, she enjoyed it and my other friend had the Ricky...she said it was okay. I knew I had to bring some home for the fam. They do have limited gluten free options, when I got there they only had one gluten free cupcake left. I wish there were more gluten free options to choose from, but I appreciate that they had any. We also got there around 1 on Sunday, so maybe their options, in general, are less at that time. Between the after school special, the pink lady and the Lolo's Oreo, I think our favorite was the Pink Lady. We dropped in right after having brunch next door. Even though we were full it seemed only right to stop in and try the CUPCAKE WAR CHAMPION desserts. The decor is so vibrant and fun. It's a perfect balance; appealing to kids with all the colors yet chic enough to appreciate the details and how it all flows together. I can't remember the cupcake names...one was suzie q I think. Either way they were delicious!!! The one that has sliced almonds on top with an amaretto (I think) flavored frosting on top of a coconut cake ugghhhhhhh divine!! The cupcakes themselves are little bits of heaven--moist, flavorful and there is just enough ratio of frosting to cake. I've sampled the cookie dough and the Reese's thus far--and both were some of the best I've had. Coming from me--with my obsession for cupcakes in every city I visit--that's saying a lot. The shop itself is very cute and they offer tea and a small sitting area. However...I was a bit turned off by the service. Both ladies who run the shop were in when we check it out. One was very sweet and open, very welcoming; the other...well, quite honestly, she turned off my friends I was with to the shop. She was a bit....snarky, to put it lightly. I'm a bit more forgiving and will try Suzie's again---hoping that the reception is 100% warm, not just 50%. Here's hoping...because I love a good cupcake. FYI--they don't yet accept credit cards and their official grand opening is in May. You can find their daily cupcake line up on their website. Updated--I went back on 05/19/2013. The cupcakes are still absolutely delish. They have signs all over from winning Cupcake Wars and had a lot more customers. Service was....somewhat better. I enjoyed my experience here on a voyage for good birthday cupcakes. We got a plain vanilla Clean & Serene and a 3 of a Kind. The Clean & Serene was what you would expect, moist and sweet. Just right to hit your sweet tooth. The 3 of a Kind was for me, the chocolate lover. I'd been looking near and far for a chocolate cupcake that was filled with chocolate ganache and topped with more chocolate after I got hooked on the snowball cupcake from Crumbs Bakery that one was seasonal for winter and two the company went out of business or significantly decreased the number of stores. Anyway, the only difference in this version was chocolate curls instead of chocolate sprinkles and I loved this cupcake. Really moist and filled with chocolate explosions. The shop itself is small and intimate with quirky, bright, and fun decor including balloons (when we went), quotes painted on the window glass, and more. Now for the cupcakes. I'm a big cupcake fan and was pleasantly surprised to see a unique flavor selection here and a note on one of the cupcakes that it had won in Cupcake Wars. Of course, I had to try it - said cupcake was the 3 of a Kind, which is a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting filled with chocolate ganache (!!).
