I cannot believe how long it has taken me to write a review for this place, because I wanted to do it justice and have photos. I have frequented Sweet Cupz for a year now. When I was healthier, I would stop by 2 to 3 times a week on my way back from the pool I do physical therapy at for a smoothie or a vegan oat milk tea, and occasional less healthy delicious treat on my splurge day! Everything my husband and I have had there is delicious, I have tried so many things. Their eggettes are the best in the neighborhood, the matcha is my favorite. Their seasonal food and drinks are always awesome and so tasty. The soft serve is dangerously delicious with the best flavors and seasonal sundaes. The staff is great - kind, friendly, helpful, etc. etc etc. As is the ambiance, the great music, and fun claw machines, merchandise, etc. What a wonderful gem in our neighborhood. I forgot to add the reason I like it so much is because you can adjust the sweetness level, they have more than one alternative vegan milk, and lots of ways to customize your order. I'm a sucker for unique themed shops with personality! Stumbled upon Sweet Cupz craving a refreshing fruit tea. They have these Surprise Cupz that come with a raffle ticket and a surprise plushy. I thought the idea was super fun. They also have claw machines that accept credit card so I played a few rounds while waiting for my drink. The cashier was helpful and gave me some suggestions from the menu - I also loved how they had a top 10 menu list and digital screens with visuals of their menu. I ordered their Pineapple Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea half sweet. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and refreshing. My husband loved his mango smoothie. Check this place out! Stopped by here after seeing an ad for their "Surprise Cupz". Essentially, you order a drink off the "Surprise Cupz" menu, and the drink will then come with a surprise gift - ranging from keychains, stuffed animals, stickers etc.! I'm not sure what the entire list of characters for the surprises include but I definitely saw Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, Sanrio, Disney characters etc.! In terms of the actual drink, there are many drinks that qualifies for this order. This bubble tea cafe is also very flexible in terms of the toppings, sweetness level, alternative milk and any other substitutes you might want to make to your order! I ordered the Iced Matcha Latte with oat milk and it did not disappoint! The matcha tasted high quality - I believe it's Uji matcha so you know it's the good stuff :). The "Surprise Cupz" came with a raffle ticket inside the cup which you fill out with your name and phone number and each Sunday, they will choose a random winner. I believe the prize will be a surprise box or some sort! Such a cute idea :) I ended up getting a Stitch stuffed animal/ keychain which I love! The ambiance is a little drafty and empty, but maybe it would be more lively if it wasn't pride weekend. The pricing is about average for SF (in that it's expensive) compared to other boba shops, but a lot of their drinks come with boba included. You just order on a touchscreen kiosk and they bring you after a short wait. There's a few claw machines and little gacha machines. My friend and I got two Pokemon cards for $1 each, which was a cute little thing to do while we were there. There's some seating inside, but we took our drinks to go. This is my first time trying this place. It's on the corner of mirmar and ocean Ave. The parking is horrendous. The parking spaces are tight and small. When you enter They have a wide open space. They have 3 big TV screens showing the drink menus. But it does flash quickly between different menus. So if you have a problem visually seeing it then it's better to use the iPad to view the menu. The iPad is also where you order your drinks for contactless experience. They have two employees a the front that goes to the back to make the drinks and the hands you the drink when ready. There was a mother and daughter who was sitting at a table behind me. And the staff was so nice they walked the drink out to the customer. A++ service. I tried the brown sugar creme brulee, less ice. 75%sweet. It was delicious. It was just the right amount if sweetness. The tapioca pearls are the right amount of bounce and chew. I decided to get the following: Watermelon Slush with Coconut Milk and Sago - This was one of their $4 specials, and I needed something non-caffeinated since I was here in the evening on Sunday. The drink was at 50% sweetness, which was pretty light. The watermelon tasted like real watermelon blended together. There was sago in the drink, which I am not used to, but it works. I also added boba, which had a great chewy texture and was where I felt most of the sweetness was coming from. It was also a little warm and was able to maintain that chewy texture despite the cold from the drink. Overall, I still liked this drink even though I generally love sweeter drinks. Sesame Eggettes - This was so fresh I could still see the steam! It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like it. The sesame flavor was pretty subtle. Their boba is probably the best I've had so far in the city. It's crazy how many boba shops are on Ocean Ave in such a short stretch (6 boba shops within ~ 1 mile stretch). They had several large screens showing the drink menus, but they change quickly so it's difficult to read through all the options on the walls. Mango sago is not offered at every boba spot, so I was delighted to see this on the menu. I ordered 75% sweet w/boba ($6.5 + .5), and it was solid! Plenty of mango purée, some mango chunks, good amount of sago, and ALOT of boba (see pic!). So much boba and sago that I was worried at first that I'd have to use a spoon lol. The ratio ended up being just fine, I just had to carefully mix with the straw rather than just turning the cup upside down. Boba was a good consistency, though there wasn't much flavor to it--it needed to marinate longer. Black sesame eggette ($5.5) - very good. I've had flavored Hong Kong waffles at other places who think it's acceptable to fill each egg with filling, but you'll be happy to know that is not the case here--the black sesame was mixed in with the waffle batter. Made to order, so it may take a few min longer than your drink. They also have spam musubi. I mean, what else can you ask for in a boba shop menu? Oh, popcorn chicken. Tried this place out for the first time today. Sweet Cupz has a variety of drinks and also some snack options such as eggettes and spam musubi. I ordered the mango sago coconut milk drink with lychee jelly. The service was pretty quick. You place your order on the kiosk machine. (Contactless ordering and paying). The drink was so so. I ordered it with 50% sweetness. I was a little thrown off by the lychee jelly. It was quite tasteless and the jelly was a giant blob of clear jelly and not like the typical artificial flavored lychee jelly, which was what I was hoping for. The texture was like watery jello. I wanted the small rectangular jellies that had a chew to it. I even almost thought that they forgot to add the lychee jelly in my drink. I do like that they add real chunks of mango in the drink. The coconut milk was also pretty tasteless. It didn't have a strong coconut flavor. I wish they offered different drink sizes too, because I just wanted a small drink. There are other customizations for the drinks such as ice level, sweetness level and milk substitutions, topping choices. Also, if you don't see a preset customization on the screen, then you can add it in the "order notes" section at the bottom. One unique option I noticed too is that you can have the option to split your drink into 2 cups, by paying an additional dollar. The drinks here are pretty affordable, considering everything in SF is expensive! I also tried the original flavor eggettes and they were okay. They weren't as chewy as I liked them to be, and they didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I'll probably come here to try a different drink next time and skip the lychee jelly.
