popcorn chicken and TS Cafe combo sandwich
    Jeff H.

By the looks of the smashed front glass door, TS Cafe recently suffered a break-in. Being a good neighbor, I came by to show them some support. This is my first time eating in-person as they close at 7pm. My basil popcorn chicken $7.75 didn't contain basil. They used to include it. The combo sandwich $10.75 was served on Dutch crunch bread. On the bread, I suspect they use a garlic mayo spread to make the sandwich less dry. The sandwiches are smaller now. My photos from years ago showed them to be about twice as high. For dessert, I wanted to try their snowball toast. Unfortunately, no ice cream was available. It took about 20 minutes for my food to come out at around 6:20pm. The young people that work here are attentive. Service has gotten faster since they put in the ordering kiosk. They play Mandarin Chinese music on the speakers. That made it annoying to eat in-person even though I'm Chinese.

Was feeling a but hungry after dinner so we decided to stop at TS cafe for some popcorn chicken (Monday night around 6:30pm). It was pretty much empty, lowkey gave desolate vibes haha. They have some board games available to play and a variety of seating options (not just tables). We were playing connect4 while waiting for the food and the chips/coins were pretty dirty and I was tempted to just not play because of its condition. Perhaps cleaning the games / maintaining them would be a good idea -- I think not having games would be better than the games being a mess as it gives off a disheveled image which could be harmful. We got our food in about 10 minutes of ordering. While the popcorn chicken did have the classic flavor we were looking for, it was way too salty. Honestly with every bite, I thought I was eating a spoonful of either msg or salt. The sauce they gave was interesting (not in a bad way), not sure if it was mayo or some mix of mayo and something else. Chicken was still piping hot and very crispy and juicy, so that was fine. I personally wouldn't come again anytime soon, but I can't speak to their other food items or boba.

Solid place for boba. Ordered hibiscus pineapple tea with boba. Flavor was good and the boba was perfectly bouncy. Made and called quickly. Plenty of seating inside. Street paid parking.

This mala tang was so good--super flavorful broth with just the right amount of spice. Everything tasted fresh, and the variety was amazing. The noodles soaked up all the flavor, and every bite hit different. Definitely coming back for this.

The service was quick since no wait and the lady was nice and polite. It was great customer service and the lady make good popcorn chicken and drinks

This is a strange little restaurant. You walk in and BOOM it's like you're in a swamp. The food was pretty good, I just got the popcorn chicken. The seasoning was good, but the chicken had a lot of fatty pieces in it :( I also got a taro smoothie with boba, which was really good!

Another doordash delivery x( I really need to get out of the house... lol ....Late night munchies/dinner Anyways, ordered popcorn chicken, fried tofu, french fries (spiced), potstickers, and #29 TS Classic Fruits Tea. I love how the fried tofu and potstickers came with their own sauce. (I'm a sauce gal) My fave of the whole order has got to be the fried tofu. Nothing special, but when you're feeling super lazy and want to eat a variety of fried snacks, TS is a godsend. Popcorn chicken was oookie. I wish it was juicier and spicier. It didn't have much of a basil flav either. It fills the craving at least. The french fries were kind of hard by the time it reached our house and I think they forgot to add the spiced salt that they advertised. Potstickers were potsticker-like. :) I appreciated that the fruit tea had fresh fruit, but it was kind of artificial tasting. I think they use a syrup. I probably wouldn't order this again. For the price and amount of food, I think it's pretty worth it especially when you find yourself in a snacking mood.

We got: Classic milk tea wo boba $3.50 Oolong w cream: $4.99+ boba $0.50 Jasmine green tea w cream $4.95 + $0.50 boba Togo: $0.25 charge... wha why? (o wait, it's a plastic bag charge although we didnt ask for a bag) The cream was good, it's like those salty cheese toppings at other boba places. Price is very reasonable. Wish boba prices in Sac were as cheap as in the bay! I'm writing the review a bit late so don't fully remember but I think we liked the tea and boba, no negative impressions remaining...

The snacks here are some of the best snacks I've had at any milk tea spot! I love their popcorn chicken here, it's crispy and has that delicious seasoning on every single bite. A lot of places just sprinkle the seasoning powder on top but TS makes sure every single piece of chicken is covered in that delicious powder! Their fried tofu was also super delicious, it was crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. We've also tried their jasmine MT, roasted oolong MT, & classic MT. All are solid choices!

I have sampled Teas & Coffees from various merchants but often something is off in regards to the balance of their drinks, that was not the case with TS. Parking is not horrible at night, but luck was with me, and a spot was available on the side street before turning onto Mission. As for the shop it's some what large inside so you will not feel crowded if you need to wait a moment. As for service it was easy, and swift with drinks neatly packed into a bag. I really appreciated that the drinks were not overly sweet an issue that comes up with most merchants. As for my order it included a Pineapple Lemon Sparkling that was wonderfully refreshing with tasty pieces of fruit, I also had a Boba beverage that had jellies that complimented the drink which was a nice change since they can easily weigh it down. The order also included an Iced Milk that was indulgent without any of the guilt. For the beverages alone, I would check TS Cafe.

found a hair inside of my avocado smoothie!‍‍

When I was healthier, I would stop by 2 to 3 times a week on my way back from the pool I do physical therapy at for a smoothie or a vegan oat milk tea, and occasional less healthy delicious treat on my splurge day! Everything my husband and I have had there is delicious, I have tried so many things. Their eggettes are the best in the neighborhood, the matcha is my favorite. Their seasonal food and drinks are always awesome and so tasty. The soft serve is dangerously delicious with the best flavors and seasonal sundaes. The staff is great - kind, friendly, helpful, etc. etc etc. As is the ambiance, the great music, and fun claw machines, merchandise, etc. What a wonderful gem in our neighborhood. I forgot to add the reason I like it so much is because you can adjust the sweetness level, they have more than one alternative vegan milk, and lots of ways to customize your order. Most smoothies and milk teas are way too sweet for me. I do 25% and it is perfect! You can also customize your toppings, which type of boba or other extras you want as well!

Stoped by this shop on a rainy night after gym to get myself a sweet treat! Service didn't feel helpful at all, very reliant on kiosks. Staff barely called out names when it's ready. Given that, it doesn't escape me that it took just a matter of months for my next visit to happen again. No real rhyme or reason as to why it didn't take nearly as long this time, but I'd be lying if I said that the Ube Halo Halo we tried didn't have something to do with it. While it ultimately wasn't what we ordered, the memory of what we had definitely got us excited to try more when my friends suggested coming here! Compared to the location over on Geary (and the one in Westminster, for what it's worth), this Bambu is better in just about every way. Sure, it helps that it's still relatively new (they opened about eight months ago?), but it's undoubtedly cleaner, feels a whole lot brighter, is a bit more conveniently located, and, most significantly, has way more parking available nearby. As for the menu, it had pretty much all of the usual offerings that you'd expect to find at any of their locations - che desserts, milk tea, fruit teas, waffles, macarons, and Vietnamese coffee. -- MANGO HALO HALO - Green Jello Base with Coconut Meat, Coconut Milk, Red Tapioca, Jackfruit, Egg Pudding, Crystal Boba, Mango Jelly, Pandan Jelly, Nata de Coco, and Topped with Mango Ice Cream While it didn't impress quite like the Ube Halo Halo did, this was still really good. Between all of the mangos (vs ube) and jellies, this felt a lot fruitier and lighter. However, it also didn't feel quite as creamy as the Ube one did, which I kind of missed. -- VIETNAMESE EGG COFFEE Sadly, the coffee is a pre-made mix, so they weren't able to modify the sweetness, but I appreciate that they added plain coffee to help dilute it. Even then, though, this ended up being really sweet. Loved how creamy the egg foam made this, though. Despite how I genuinely like this particular Bambu, I don't know how often I would come back since I don't typically crave che desserts and other places usually come to mind first when I think of where to get milk tea. However, should the urge or occasion arise to go to a Bambu again, I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this one, especially so that I can give their Yoonami Drinks, Smoothies, and Ube Mochi Waffle a try!
